  • Welcome to my trip from Bratislava, Slovakia to Breclav, Czech Republic. My Eurocity was operated by the ZSSK, the slovakian railway. You will see the stations, the train and a lot of window views. The journey was in april 2024. I used my Interrailpass for this trip. .

What do you think about the slovakian first class? And do you prefer the slovakian Eurocity or the czech one?

Hello, nice video. You Can also try the main railway between Bratislava and Košice the maximum speed is 160km/h to Púchov from there are mounts. To Žilina is i think 140km/h max and from Žilina is most of the railway to max 120km/h (btw the Žilina station is under construction now. You can see it on Google and most of the stations from Bratislava to Púchov are new) thank you for reading, have a Nice day🙂.

I like your comment about the main hall of Bratislava hlavna stanica! By contrast, the Slovak first class coaches look very smart and professional. I also like the station jingle before platform announcements.

Nice video and trip report! But just one thing: Do not call those double deck trains similar to ČD CityElefants - ZSSK 671 a CityElefant. Thats a advice, because if you would talk with slovak about this train, they wouldnt be very happy, haha.
You can call them Janošák, thats what they're called. :)
Yeah, ZSSK 671 has more systems and its a better - upgraded version of these Škoda double deckers.

Thank you :) It's sometimes really hard to find the right names of trains in foreign countries, so I am sorry. I thougt that's a universal name for the train like the Stadler Kiss and Flirts which are called that in different countries.

It is paradoxical that Bratislava has few much nicer and more modern stations in the suburbs.(Petržalka , Predmestie )Today's main station is basically doomed because the city plans to build a new main station in another place, but it still doesn't know where and especially when...

in terms of services, Czech first class is better, but in terms of seats and comfort, I prefer Slovak first class, but overall it's 50/50 for me. Otherwise, nice video, try a train from Kosice next time. You will be surprised how the station looks if you haven't been here :D

Thank you :) Yes for me it is also 50/50. Both are good. When I will be in Slovakia the next time I want to try a train to Kosice. But I don't know when it will be.

I can also guarantee you that you will be intetested to see such a massive difference between those stations. Košice has been modernized and its basically a shopping center. (Not really, but you understand probably)
The way Bratislava main station is so "old" is because of its bad placement. If you have been wondering why the most "important" station of Slovakia (kind of) is in that condition, thats the reason. They wanted to refurbish this station, but it failed.
That is why i think that Košice is probably the best station to represent Slovakia, because it is modern and also big. Few stations in Slovakia are also modern, but they are small.
The only problem in Košice might be some people. But still its far from Wien Hauptbahnhof 😂

The entrance of the central station in Bratislava next to the trams is one of the worst I‘ve Seen by now. Could be somewhere in deepest Moldova or Albania. Shame on you ZSSK or city of Bratislava. Jeden wielki syf i burdel

Yes the station isn't nice, but the trains are nice. At least they could modernize the station a little bit.

@@simontv1520 yes I heard that too, that they don't have space for a bigger station at the current place. But if they build a new station it probably won't be that central at the city as the current main station. It is only 10 minutes with the tram form the historic city center.

@@simontv1520 maybe a 2 floor solution? Underground platforms 2 or 3 for commuter trains and suburban connections. On the ground level 3 platforms for IC, EC, rychlik etc.
