I’m glad I found this. I think ppl should care about mass manipulation. Believe me, I am uninterested in celebrity as culture cover for atrocities, but this particular example was a clear case of a member of the petit bourgeoisie managing to wield the same tactics as intelligence agencies. To me, this means the tactic is becoming cheaper and more automated which every person on this earth should care to know about.

Happy to have stumbled upon this. I had consumed much of the trial and could not see how people could suggest Depp was an honorable person-- he came across as indulgent, a sick, older, low bottom drunk and drug addict. I feel bad for anyone who had to endure his raging addictive states. I was confused how people could "support" him.

Amber heard is kind
One of the things that so many people underestimate is how much Amber's career - compared to Depp's - was damaged by Depp and his bot army's abusive attacks, and the double standard this reveals. I mean, Depp's career, including his deal with Dior, pretty much survived even after being ruled by a court of law to be a literal wifebeater. On the other hand, Amber's career was nearly completely destroyed by Depp's attacks even before the 2022 trial and what remained of it was destroyed by the trial. And yet, the 2022 (unfair and false) verdict was that Amber lied about Depp abusing her, and not that she actually abused him.
In other words, it's such a huge and glaring double standard that Amber's career was destroyed by online attacks and being declared (unjustly and falsely so) a liar but Depp's career is still going on even after being ruled to be a wifebeater by the highest UK court, a ruling that was affirmed by two other judges.
Thank you for highlighting this in this episode. Also, I didn't know that the attacks and threats against Dr. Spiegel were investigated and deemed credible by the FBI. My heart goes out to not just Amber, but to all those who had to endure the unhinged and targeted attacks and threats from that man's fans, trolls, and bots.

UK law puts the burden of proof on the defendant. To not be liable for defamation, it had to be proven he beat his wife
It was proven that he beat his wife, Amber Heard, on at least 12 occasions. The verdict is quite detailed.
She literally had to move to another country to escape, to save her child. I think that says it all.

No one deserves a hate campaign built with bots BUT pretending that the main reason the verdict went how it did was because of the online tweets etc. is dishonest.
The psychology analysis, the recordings of her acting no short of Harley Quin (that she recorded while she tried to have Johnny Depp being violent to her). She was always gaslighting him. The photos of her without any bruisers a couple of days after moments where JD would have been violent. Like unless she has better healing factor than Wolverine it would be impossible to not see that.

The full recording reveals that she hit him to get away after he crushed her toes in a door. He doesn't give a damn about male victims, he's a misogynist who wanted to dismantle the #Metoo movement and humiliate and destroy his ex-wife in the process. He is the definition of an abuser.

There is so much evidence that johnny was the abuser. He admitted it many times. And tried hard to hide and manipulate evidence that showed the truth. It's hard to really know what happened between Depp and Heard in their marriage, but the trial and her very poor performance along with her less than able lawyers, was what really destroyed her career. She has shown herself to be a liar and not a very genuine or likable person. Depp didn't really come out of it looking very good either but he was authentic on the stand and didn't come across as being untruthful. She did! End of story.
