NECRO-ECHO! Is this the best Necrodominance shell in Legacy? With the release of Modern Horizons 3 MTG MH3), I had the privilege to access Necrodominance early through the Magic Online Creator Program. This deck leverages the incredible power of Necrodominance to draw a massive number of cards, using Borne Upon a Wind to cast spells at instant speed. The core combo involves casting Echo of Eons from the graveyard to refill your hand and then deploying Tendrils of Agony for a devastating finish. Beseech the Mirror and Gaea's Will provide a consistent and powerful engine to assemble and execute this combo effectively.
The deck is packed with fast mana sources like Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, Lotus Petal, and Chrome Mox, ensuring you can quickly set up your game-winning turns. Necrodominance and Echo of Eons allow for powerful card draw and combo potential, while Veil of Summer and Pact of Negation offer protection against disruption. The sideboard includes versatile tools like Boseiju, Who Endures, Chain of Vapor, and Echoing Truth to address various threats, along with Leyline of Sanctity for targeted hate.

Combo is sweet
Love combo more than any style. Control, burn, midrange all good but to each there own.
I'm just waiting for the Gutshot meta to develop in response to all of the 19 life Necrodominance payments.
Then everyone will just pay 18 life instead!

It’s about it’s casting speed not the mana cost. Sorcery speed interaction in a 1 turn format has always been too slow, all the way back to urza’s block this was true. It’s not about the times it’s the format.

Worth a shot, I suppose. Veil as a metagame call vs expected Vexing Baubles and Force of Vigors (as opposed to something like free counterspells or hand disruption) seems reasonable to me. Sadly, I think that this LED/Echo build also showcased the downside of utilizing the graveyard, namely becoming susceptible to hate like Leylines or Dauthis. In that regard, I think that I like the "turbo necro" builds (with Chancellor/Pact of Negation) better.

Ive found weather the storm is good with necropotence decks as you pay a lot of life to draw but then can gain it back on weather the storm. Just a thought dont know if you tried it yet. It just lets you draw more cards off necro basically. Might not even need it but its a cool idea maybe.
ehhhhhh it would require passing the turn after the initial draw, it's not worthwhile.
letting oppo cast their now 4x (until banning) vexing t1/challice, isn't good. Valakut awakening awakening for 15+ is better.

26:26 something i dont understand is why you often lead on veil of summer when you intend to continue playing that turn even if it gets forced. isnt it then better to wait until they force and then veil? you get to draw a card
Because I got them to exile their Brazen Borrower? Information is king. What if they Brainstorm and then let Veil resolve? It changes my play.

Im sorry to see you had a bad preview day. However, I think this list and the awakening deck are on to something. Veil pushing through Bauble seems stronger than pact and i like the echo package but i think having manamorphose with 8 spirit guides is also good for games like you had where you necro'd for 5. If you had the manamorphose package you could have won from there.
Maybe ideas from both lists need to be merged?

I hope the format stabilizes soon so people stop demanding that this gets banned lol.

I also tested a couple of necrodominance builds over 10 matches yesterday and found it to be quite bad

Necro feels like it has to be turn 1, theres too many sideboard cards that come in on turn 0 or 1, not to mention the decks that maindeck vexing bauble and collector ouphe, a lot of decks are just green right now because of flare and Nadu, so force of vigor is always a card that just beats you, endurance isnt as popular anymore, but still ends the echo line, and veil of summer is already in every sideboard because of rescaminator. Its just not positioned well in the meta right now, ruby storm might just be better right now.
