thanks andrew. i ami aclinical pulmonogist since 25 years. i am now teaching at mauritius univ.your approach is clear and i have adopted your style.thank you
As a Respiratory Therapy Student I appreciated the explanation and illustration clarity. The presentation was direct, succinct, well spoken and very digestable for students at many levels. THANK YOU! Alan D. Bosch, RT Student TTC, MUSC Respiratory Dept.
I have copd, and I wondered if there was a direct relationship between the results of a spirometer test, and how breathless you are on your worst days. Brilliantly explained video, thank you so much.
I’m currently a nursing student and one of my module tutors has suggested watching all your pathophysiology videos. I have now managed to watch most them and I’m delighted to say that you are doing a wonderful job 👍! Thank you so much for all your help and for taking the time to explain these diseases!
I've spent 4 months in my second to last nursing semester and you explained COPD more clearly in the first 14 minutes than my instructors have all semester.
I been living with Asthma COPD for 7 years, its very similar to the one called Enphazema and bronchitis, but COPD basically means lung damage, and if you have Asthma it goes through all the same stages, it is really a delight that this knowledge and information is out here and especially on UA-cam. Thanks!
I'm a nursing student and this was very helpful. I always need to wrap my brain around the process in order to remember things and you present the process very well.
Am studying for my oncology nurse certification test, and am finding your videos to be a great addition/ refresher for pathophysiology. Thanks for making this as painless as possible!
Returning to practice and reviewing the chronic diseases-thank-you for the clarity. Matching clinic symptoms to the pathological process is YOUR talent. Very appreciated!
in my second year of RN school. I wouldn't have made it this far without your videos. I love, love everything about them. Often I find myself passing exams and HESI tests with simply watching your videos and making notes right along with you. Please please don't stop posting them. Sincerely, O heck... my name is Teresa!!!!
Hi, thanks for helping me prepare for my Pathophysiology of Disease finals. I'm studying for a BSc in Physical Activity and Health in Scotland, and your videos are a huge help in understanding this complex subject. Thanks very much.
Absolutely brilliant Andrew, I am a nusing student in Western Australia who was struggling to understand COPD, but wow ! you have hit the nail right on the head. Many thanks for this production.
Thank you for helping me understand my disease more,i am a 24 year old that got diagnosed with COPD 4 months ago,my life has made a 360 turn, its been hard, especially knowing that my case is a 3 in 100,i have AAT deficiency.
Thank you for this. I'm also a nursing student trying to get a better understanding and you've done a better job than all the vague answers my instructors have given.
Andrew just wanted to give kudos on your willingness to post these lectures, donation of your time, and utilization of technology in furthering the understanding of pathophysiology. Speaking for myself I have really enjoyed your teaching style and look forward to watching more from you, thanks and all the best. ~Zachary
Your lectures are fantastic, thank you for doing them. I have pathophysiology online this semester and my teacher doesn't offer audio for studying. Your lectures have really helped my understanding of the material.
Thank you so much for explaining this. My partial diagnosis is COPD, yet I find that in the summer, with sufficient moderate exercise my symptoms largely disappear. I use Albuterole and Asmanex. The symptoms I have do not include throat constriction, just excessive coughing. Now I understand the etiology of my condition much better.
I am a visual learner and find your videos so helpful in understanding these complex diseases and their associated patho. Thank you for the great tools :)
Thanks for this video, I am doing a presentation on COPD in relation to epigenetics in a couple of weeks. This has helped me a lot in my understanding of the disease.
currently doing an assessment about COPD and i stumbled upon this video, just wanna let you know you've cleared ALOT of my confusions with this video and would like to say that you're doing a great job :D!
Thanks Andrew! It started a bit slow . . . I almost navigated away. I am soooooo glad that I didn't. My doctor just informed me that I "may" have either chronic bronchitis or emphysema. I had no concepts about either. It may have made more sense for him to note that I likely had COPD Thanks again for the very informative video.
Excellent work. The cilia is definitely key and most forget to mention that even focusing on the lung function thereby showing their lean towards pharmacology technology rather than biological function. Except that they also know some people go bald, sweat less or not at all, loose cilia, and other factors such as Alpha-1 genetically are related as well it seems like. I'm not a Dr. but everyone I know that has has COPD has a complex mixture of many of these factors indicating a definite genetic predisposition. Thank you for that word about Fibrosis too.
You do such a great job at explaining how and why things work the way they do. When I understand it like this, I'm much more likely to be able to retain in long term. Thanks so much for posting it!
Excellent lecture! I work in biologics R&D, in part with pulmonary therapeutics. This video is one of the best overviews of COPD I've come across. Can't wait to view the rest of your contributions at youtube!
Terrific video, very very informative while also not delving too deep into terminology so as the confuse. Currently doing a university assignment on the effectiveness of indacaterol on COPD and this has helped make sense of a lot
this video was very helpful in clearing up the gaps my physio prof left in this subject- even though I am in vet school and animals dont smoke! but still can get COPD from chronic allergies!
Hi i am from germany, and I appreciate all of your videos. In germany these instructional videos are not so perfect, so i prefer looking a video even in a foreign language - and by the way you teach me english. So if I want I could even go abroad an still work as a nurse! THX for all!
woooow andrew...so many big thanks :D tomorrow i hv exam abt COPD, I got no much time to read books,,then i watch this, this video is really helpful please please dont stop to make educative video like this :) but i wait for pneumonia, asthma, bronchiectasis patophysiology please :))
Awesome video! I am a second semester ADN student and we are currently studying oxygenation and related diseases and this really helped. I plan to share it with my classmate. Thanks so much! Look forward to more of your videos!
Good overview. I'm an old school resp therapist, and I was taught that asthma is also a part of the COPD disease group, albeit very different in origin from ch bronchitis and emphysema. That said, much of the treatment is the same.
great video. Thankyou so much for discussing it like that.. I would want to know a little more about the cells and mediators driving the inflammation and compare it with the cells and mediators in asthma
Sir, thank you. You have clarified for me so much I didn't understand before watching your video. I have COPD, & it really helps me to understand what's happening.
Dear Andrew Wolf, you are awesome. I am preparing for my test and ever since i started watching your videos I know that i really understand well. Just a suggestion there are a number of diseases with most prevalence but I cant find them in your channel. overall Great

Hey man, awesome lecture! Your work is highly appreciated. What I like the most is your well-structured way of explaining the pathophysiology behind each symptom. I love you (no homo).
Thank you very much for the video. I found it very informative and appreciate it. This may be out of your area of expertise but just wondered if there is not a way to clear some of that mucus out of your lungs so it does not restrict air movement to the smaller airways? I remember quitting smoking years ago and recall coughing up a significant amount of mucus for quite some time after quitring and it seemed my breathing improved afterwards.
thanks andrew. i ami aclinical pulmonogist since 25 years. i am now teaching at mauritius univ.your approach is clear and i have adopted your style.thank you
