Sunroof was special order as well as the nice stereo in it and chrome all special order. I think paint job was special order too… & seats 💺 they had the SR5 all tiny written all over them & I don’t remember if Craig’s truck had that or not? I will always be grateful I got to own one of the best trucks ever and I sure wish I never would have let it go…but can’t wait to buy another truck 🛻 thinking I’m going for The newer Tacoma since I was born in Tacoma.. love these videos and thx for reading my story y’all!
I am probably the worst painter in the world, BUT that gloss black paint job is so perfect, could see the ripped dude’s reflection in the high gloss. I’ve read black is the hardest to get right. I can’t believe how good it looks.

There are microchips you can put on wherever on the car and if someone steals it the microchip is sending you information on google maps where the hell your "lost" item is this is the future man go get yourself 1 of those and learn from the past we all have to learn eventually

Love these rigs. I have had 8 of them. If really use them with lifts nd 33s. They cut tires rear and front. But i crawl rocks and welded chevy springs in the rears lol

Wow, you even custom fabricated the Smittybuilt bumpers and roll bar. Great job! I was just expecting to see a color change and some of the accessories but you took it much farther. I have a few of these trucks and loved the truck in the film. Everyone I know remembers the moment it was revealed in the garage as their dream truck. I would have loved to trade you a US spec bed for that Aussie bed. The US spec beds are much lower quality and rust even in the drier climates. The trucks were sent to the USA incomplete to avoid taxes and the domestically produced beds were installed to complete them.

Some of the 2WD trucks did come with the "Japanese" bed with the flat sides and the top rail like the rest of the world market received. All 4WD trucks and the majority of the 2WD trucks came with the American-bed which rusted easily and the paint faded within a couple years, while the rest of the truck's paint held up well for many years. I personally like the look of the American bed but would rather have the durability and utility of the Japanese bed. Toyota successfully avoided paying taxes on the incomplete trucks, keeping the costs low and competitive for consumers. In the mid 1990s they began producing the majority of the popular cars and trucks in the USA to avoid the tariffs and import taxes... quality naturally suffered. I almost bought a new truck in 1998 but was very disappointed with the American-built Tacoma after the test drive. I drove home in my 1986 truck with a higher level of satisfaction and appreciation. Again, Great Job on your tribute truck.
Now that is one neat looking Toyota! It would hurt me to see it go off the beaten track though. I remember a coulered guy in South Africa call my similar looking truck a "Sunday truck"! Rock and roll brotha, I had a '85 Toyota SR5 longbox regular cab with 31's on it. Black with the grey interior, first new vehicle I ever bought, I had some stellar times with that rig. Sadly going through all those canadian winters the box rusted away but the cab hung in there pretty good. Great truck, great memories. Really nice job you did on yours.

@@HeathsGarage As well you should be! Looking at the photos and the tight joints, I got the feeling you had fun doing that kind of detailed work. It's near impossible to do a good job you're under the clock or frustrated. But when you're working on your own truck and at your own pace, things seem to come together easier. At least, that's been my experience.
Well done mate. This was my dream car from the moment I watched the movie growing up. Right up until late 2000s when I bought a 2007 black SR5 extra cab I still have it and only put 100k on the clock
I saw an almost perfect BTTF Toyota when I was in Sydney last year, they were parked in the All Accounting Matters lot next to the 59 grill that's now closed down I guess. But looking at the picture (I wish I'd taken 20), they didn't cover the bed hooks. Bravo for going the extra mile! Great job!

Can’t beat a classic
I saw an almost perfect BTTF Toyota when I was in Sydney last year, they were parked in the All Accounting Matters lot next to the 59 grill that's now closed down I guess. But looking at the picture (I wish I'd taken 20), they didn't cover the bed hooks. Bravo for going the extra mile! Great job!
