Coming from someone who saw about 30 shows pre 99’, and only 7, or 8 since then.. I don’t know who those bunch of imposters are that have been touring as DMB the last few years, but this the sound I feel in love with…. 🎻🎻🎻 a must. To me, there’s no such thing as the Dave Matthews band with out it. Chills, and Tears of joy seeing this.
@@justinroe6168 I know. I guess I was being kinda sarcastic…. I just mean when i go these days, I still like it quite a bit, but especially without a violin it doesn’t sound like how it used to… this performance with violin, energy reminded me of the old days.
I think from 93 to 99 I saw 7 or 8 shows, basically one a year, every once in a while two up until 2014. I fell out of love w/ the band simply because they became more of a rock band. To hear this sound again and to see the energy of that crowd reminds me of the old days.. Wish I could have been there.
Worth noting that she plays (more or less) the violin solo from the Crash album during the jam just like she did for Ants playing the UTTAD solo on N1. Really awesome to hear... and then she goes into her own riffs. I am a big fan of both performances!
Boyd was causing a lot of tension in the band and it’s no wonder after how he was acting came out, so cutting Boyd loose was the right move for the band. But there’s no denying that no violin has left a HUGE hole in so many songs (such as Tripping Billies). They really need to get a full time violin back in the band and I’ll take this lady every show please!
Plus it's hard to tell from vid, a little grainy, but she appears to have broken a string before the solo. Anyone see that as well? if so I dont know how but still sounded amazing with no pitch or chord sounding problems due to missing string. Not sure how she did that lol
Apparently she has twin 5 years olds and she just started a new company with her husband a guy from Incubus so as much as we'd like it doubt it would happen :(
I hope she passed the audition...Ahhh DMB is finally back. For a while there, they were pretending to be a rock band, like so many others. Tim was playing his Les Paul and shredding, and...they were becoming so.. predictable. I mean no disrespect to Tim, he is a viruoso and his unique fills and riffs are all over some of their best recordings....but it seems to me that having a violinist like this to fill the shoes of Boyd really frees the rest of the band up to be more themselves, which is what made DMB special and not just another rock band with shredding guitar solos.
you could not have said it better. this band going to the rock sound just never did it for me at all. seeing the energy and everyone feeding off of this just reminded me of the old days...
Late to the party - but presumably one for the violin and one for her monitors. On a guitar, the guitar's wireless is usually hidden behind the player on the strap, and the monitor pack is the only one typically visible. Hopefully this helps!
Sorry fans but Dave Matthews cannot sing. His falsetto sound cannot be sustained all tour. You can tell he is horse already because he was never taught how to use his voice correctly.
I was at the show… Anne Marie was AMAZING!! There was such a good energy and she radiated joy! She should definitely be part of the band!
Yeah I agree with you 100 %
I wasn't at the show and I support this comment 1000 times over again. Puh-lease bring her into a more consistent role.
She is an amazing player. She has also played with Yanni and Steve Vai. She is married to the guitar player from Incubus.
Ann rocks!! They need this sound back
It was amazing to hear the violin with THIS version of the band. Pay her double her asking rate and bring her on full time. That was phenomenal.

Imposters? Tim has been around a while…

Just when I didn't think I could love this band any more......she is phenomenal. She'd make an amazing addition....js 😍😍😍

She’s incredible. Need her full time.
tell me about it i saw them last yr and their was no violinist and that was my first time seeing them.
The way it should be played! Thanks for posting this!
She is such a blessing. Just amazing how nostalgic tbis felt and how happy it made me to watch this.
Needed more skree.
I kid- good to hear the band with a violin again.
She’s amazing!
She’s really awesome
I was there too. Brilliant
Give her the gig!
That violin is music to my ears! That's what you're missing
Boyd looks different. Thanks for sharing!
I don’t have the money to follow the band but I’ll spend what I need to if she’s with them and they come to anywhere in Ohio
Sign her

hire her
This was amazing, but just wanted to clarify that her name now is Ann Marie Simpson, and not Calhoun. Either way, what an amazing performance!
dont forget, Boyd is on cameo.
He does a sock puppet show on cameo too. 🤣

A couple hairs from the bow frayed but I didn't see or notice anything otherwise

And to think we all sat through Boyd for years being out of tune and screeching when it’s supposed to sound like this the whole time.

Why does the violinist need two wireless packs?

How long before Boyd overdoses?
This was dope…but bring back the OG

Mary hast du das notwendig in einerunterklassigen band zu spielen, singen 0, gitarren 0, so einen müll kannst nur in den USA bringen !!!
