- I saw Charles Leclerc driving his Ferrari 488 Pista. We made contact and signaled if i could take a picture with my phone. He was okay with it and opened his window. Than my dad came and made a video asking about the next grand prix. In the end i said: what are you doing? (In Dutch)

To everyone saying you shouldn't talk to an F1 driver in the wild, as if they are some type of divine deity unworthy of social interaction with lower beings - this sport wouldn't exist without the fans and it's their job to communicate with the people to some degree. You can't accept those millions of dollars and totally disregard every fan you see on the street. This fan was very polite, didn't hound him for a selfie or an autograph, just subtly expressed his appreciation and went on about his day. If an F1 driver can't handle fan interaction like this then they shouldn't be signed on. I think Leclerc was relieved to see how low key and gracious the fan was that he opened his window for him, and surprised about how casual the interaction was. All you guys really need to chill out. This was handled very well.
