Ah, finally, Catharsis has experienced catharsis on camera
I actually teared up during a recent livestream for Genshin Impact when they did Divine Damsel of Devastation. That's definitely the most literal cathartic moment I've had. Especially because I never had a response like that before. It just got to me. A perfect live production of that song.
The original feels cinematic, like we're watching something big, and especially in the second half it feels like there's some massive fight of incredible proportions. Which to be fair, it was made exactly for that.
The Let's Lament version feels like we're inside someone's thoughts, someone who is angry at anything, everything. Someone who's losing themselves. It sounds like a mental breakdown, in form of song. Which... is par for the course for PM.
They're two very different songs, despite having the same lyrics.

The amount of raw emotion from Cassie's voice is crazy. I was so glad they made these versions.
The way I summarised the difference in feel to a friend was that the original is a cult leader surrounded by followers, and ensemble to back them, and looking down upon the target of the song. This one feels like someone whose crawling across the floor to claw at your legs and pull you down
this perfectly displays the whiplash I felt when I first heard this version, mili really went crazy on this one
This is easily my favorite Key Ingredient/Let’s Lament song. It’s literally completely different while sounding just as good, if not better, than the already amazing original.
It's so fun listen to a person who likes Mili. Please check out their song from their old album like Millenium Mother or Mag Mell, they have so many great songs!

Ngl, I would enjoy you listening to one of the mixes of Compass that the comunity has made. Why? Because of all the Mili songs, I feel like Compass is the one with more ingame elements that just complete the experience imo. Listening to the song in Mili's channel just doesnt feel the same. The one I think captures the essence of the ingame version better (in case you do want to check it out) is the one made by Lunartique07, who also made another ingame loop for Fly my Wings (tho that one isnt as significant)

The original, although amazing, I personally don't like it.
This version... this version is insane, It broke me, I've always loved singing, but even while I love lyrics and emotions within them, this song has both underline and obvious emotions and it's incredible, there is only one other song that gave me such powerful emotions, but this one still beat it over 1000 times, the capacity of Cassie Wei to express herself through voice is insane, to the point where I can even say I am jealous of it.
She must have worked from a young child to build such a voice, and kudos to her, her singing is divine. Through pain and pleasure.
i didnt start appreciating and enjoying the original until after i heard this version. its truly so gorgeous and heart-wrenching
