Finally Moulay Idriss Zerhoun is town in fez Meknes region or northern Morocco spread over two hills at base of mount Zerhoun . It’s famous for being site of tomb of Idriss first major Islamic ruler of Morocco after whom town is named. It’s located near Meknes overlooked volubilis few kilometers away . There are attractions such as zawiya of Moulay Idriss ( religious complex including mausoleum, mosque, other amenities) . Cylindrical minaret built in 1939 by local man after his return from hajj pilgrimage from Mecca . The minaret covered in green tiles with white Kufic style Arabic letters quarn verses . There are also quarnic school ( called Madrasa) refers to Madrasa of Idriss . Honestly we at school taught brief main information as capital , economics of countries , borders , not in detail and ask us to memorize maps of countries and at draw one map at mid term and final exams . Did you have same method at your schools. Any way bon voyage best wishes for you your family friends.

What an intense but rewarding day of exploring Morocco. The pottery workshop looked incredibly interesting, I would definitely have visited that. It's incredible what the right people can do with a piece of clay. What was the temperature like? I could see a lot of people wearing trousers and even jeans. Epic photobomb!! Loved the look of the tannery, so distinctive and unique. It's one of those places that really makes you appreciate where you are. The guy in the shop made it look so easy to put those head scarves on, did Andy end up buying it and if so, did he ever figure out how to get it on again?

The temperatures weren't too bad as it was late October, early November. As a Brit it was on the hotter side but some tourists were coming from warmer climates so jeans would have been no issue. Andy didn't buy the scarf in the end. The tour we were on was half of a longer trip which most others were doing the full thing. After we departed, they went to the desert where the scarf would have been helpful and many of them bought the scarfs. That said, we did the other half of the tour in 2017 and he bought a similar one back then in Morocco and impressively, he's remembered how to put it on. My keffiyeh from Jordan however... no clue how to get it like the locals got it for me out there. Its great as a scarf though!!

Thank you for sharing this video with us, sounds amazing in Morocco 🇲🇦. I should definitely go there! But next time I would recommend India 🇮🇳. It’s a great place in terms of food and adventure. I must say though, you should be careful when getting water, only drink bottled water and eat hot food. 2 safe options. Anyways have a great time in morroco 😅

India is definitely on my bucket list... would love to spend some time in the mountains in the north but also heard great things about food in the south... and the idea of visiting Kerala back waters is fascinating. One day we'll make it there for sure!! Pleased you enjoyed the video 🙏

We didn't eat any of the camel meat at the market, but when we visited Meknes we had camel burgers at a locals home that our guide organised. As for how many camels 🐫 I took to market with me... sadly none, but Andy tells me I'm worth a lot (score!) Thank you for your continued support 🙏 cheers ☕️ ☕️

How are you doing mrs Caroline thank you for sharing your trips with us. As always iam gathering main information about places you visited briefly here it’s fes royal palace or ( house of makhzen ) Berber language . Palace of king of Morocco in city of fez . Original foundation date back to foundation of ( new fez ) royal citadel of marinid dynasty in 1276 ce . Most of palace today dates from Alawi era ( 17 th and 20 th centuries). Vast grounds are home to multiple private structures, patios, gardens but historically included administrative offices , government tribunals . Palace near mellah to south East . Fez is oldest of Morocco cities and has played significant role as Morocco capital through different dynasties . Fez was capital of Morocco for over four centuries and cultural center of country as well as one of most important religious centers . Royal palace is open 24 hours 7 days a week. Top attractions are golden gates of fez royal palace. Many people take pictures of doors because they are so famous , gates are symbol of wealth and royalty.

Last part of my research there are at royal palace 7 gates in total 6 of them are for general public and 1 for royal family. The gates were originally made out of wood later replaced with gold . Royal palace is one of most popular tourists destinations in fez . The visitors can explore many rooms at royal palace and country yards are open to public it’s included Moroccan culture, houses , museums, gardens , areas such as special accommodation for royal Guard , colleges royal is school catering to senior members of royal family, cooking school, Library housing manuscripts collection of Hassan 11. Art naji fez is beautiful pottery and tiles are made head to ain nokbi district just outside Medina where potteries were relocated and m 2013 . Oldest building in fes qarawiyyin library, university of qarawiyyin also world oldest built in 859ce . Fez is famous for chouara tannery from 11 century . It’s one of oldest tanneries In world . Fes city has been called ( Mecca of West ) and ( Athens of Africa) , also considered spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco . Fez city worth visiting it’s was capital until 1912 , full of palaces , museums, mosques, fountains, small tiny small valley ways . Fez name refers to more of city where dye to color hat was extracted from crimson berries .
