As an American I knew nothing about _University Challenge_ so I thought that the whole bit about the host being called 'Bambi' was just a bit of weirdness. It wasn't until over 20 years later that I learned about Bamber Gascoigne!
I loved this as a kid but as a 38 year old all the references are landing especially as a poor kid who made it to Cambridge and onto University challenge even more 😂😂 - and Hagrid dropping an eclair on them tops it off
Used to watch the opening but where they dance stupidly so much. I’d play then rewind play then rewind. In the end I physically wiped the tape so that bit was just snow ha ha.
