On January 1, 2012, Star Movies was rebranded to Fox Movies Premium and FOX Movies Premium HD, available in Hong Kong and selected Southeast Asian countries. In India, China, Middle East and North Africa, Taiwan and the Philippines (SD only until 2017), the Star Movies brand remained.
A new channel, named Fox Movies (Southeast Asian countries only), replaced Fox Movies Premium and Star Movies (Philippines) on June 10, 2017. On November 1, 2017, Star Movies Vietnam was rebranded as Fox Movies Vietnam. The channel premieres major blockbuster films every Saturday while independent and low-budget films on Mondays and Thursdays.

In February 2021, FOX Movies Network had stopped airing Hollywood blockbusters from The Walt Disney Studios as part of the continuing expansion of Disney+ in the Southeast Asian region beginning with Singapore, launched on February 23, 2021 with the Star general entertainment hub.
FOX Movies Network began airing low to mid-budget films and Hollywood blockbusters from other leading Hollywood studios, including Marvel films produced by other Hollywood studios. They would continue to broadcast until October 1, 2021, when the FOX Movies Network along with 15 other Disney and FOX cable networks in Southeast Asia had ceased broadcast in order to focus on streaming.
FOX Movies in the Philippines was replaced by Tap Movies and Tap Action Flix.
Today, Disney+ is currently available in four Southeast Asian countries in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thaliand. Disney+ will set to launch in the Philippines by late 2022 or early 2023.
