I extremely amazed by this man extraordinary mechanical, electrical and general knowledge
I find Ryans videos so easy to watch and listen too. Great ways to learn and save money. No hype, not loud, not in my face, just great solid information. Wish I had watched these videos before I bought a CAT C10 that had blowby I was "told" was normal.
Thanks 🙏
This video and all the information and insight you provided is absolutely invaluable. I am happy that I discovered and subscribed to your channel a few weeks ago. Thank you-and your loyal wife-for taking the time to make this video. I really like how supportive your wife is to you in everything you do. Y’all are a good couple.
Keep up the good work.
Guys, don't use brake cleaner on the plastic fuel filter cover.
It causes micro fractures in the plastic and causes it to be cloudy over time.
Same thing with plastic hub caps.
After a couple of times it'll turn cloudy and you can't see the fluid levels.
Trust me,I learned the hard way.
so what should they use? WD40?
Wow this helped me a lot! I've been doing oil changes on my dad's Volvo for a while now and never found a great way to put the used oil in the jugs. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for watching and for the comments!
Excellent video. When you do it yourself, you know it is done right. Thanks for sharing. Hello from New Brunswick Canada. I also use T4 in all my diesel engines, never had an issue. I buy it in 5G pails, it is a bit less per G that way. Around here all the garages have waste oil burners, they will happily take whatever you can drop off, some will come get it.
Thank you!
I worked for uber eats and grubhub and Im not even driving right now but i watched the entire video randomly, great shit though man keep it up 👍 gained a sub
Thanks!😁
Thanks for the awesome family "Ryan & Sophia" for sharing this with us, great information guys, wish you all the best, and may happiness fill your life, nice people
Thanks!
Well, now I'm gonna save a few bucks! Thanks for the video!
Thank you Boss, you explained right and I passed with merits 🤝
Video is awesome and very informative for starters but if I may make a little sugestion: next time when you about to change secondary fuel filter just make a small puncture hole on the bottom of a filter with smth sharp and drain that fuel into a bucket or smth, makes easier and less messy.
Gréât info , we want everything concerning. Truck maintenance, keep it up, you r thé best
Best video with all the details for a diesel oil change.

Great video! Thank you 🙏🏽
Let me know if you have any questions!

Suggested video would be cleaning the engine bay too. I curious about how to degrease and safely clean the the engine. Thanks for showing how change oil and filter. Never know when you might need to change the oil yourself
Thanks for the advice and diy very helpful 🚛✌️keep up the good work 👏 🙌 stayblessed

Glad it can be a help!
Good video, thanks for sharing. 👍🙏
Thanks!
Really enjoy your videos. Good information.
Thanks for the feedback!
Ayee! Thank you for the video sir! I’m going to school for diesel mechanics out here in Hawaii. I’m about to start a mechanic job servicing fleet trucks. I’m pretty nervous, but I learned a lot from your videos! Thank you!
Thanks
Hey man I’m in the same situation as you! Kinda nervous cause I’ve never touched a semi truck before. How did it go?
@@LeviBartel no worries bro. Every truck is different but they are all similar. You just have to take your time and check things out and see where things are located. If you have too always refer back to the service manual. No shame, it’s good to be cautious instead of making mistakes that you could of been avoided. Good luck and god bless🤙
Thank you You I love your videos
Thank you! 😊
Thank you with respect
You are welcome!

When I change the fuel filter I usually will pull the fuse and crank the engine and that will empty out the fuel filter and relieve the pressure in the fuel system. Does take a bit to get it started again afterwards, however.
Good video. Thanks for covering oil change on the motor and apu
You are most welcome
bad ass thank you
good show thanks.
Thank you!
Love the fellow
Thank you!
I try to tell everyone oil cheapest at Walmart but no still buying from parts store at least this man understands good video enjoyed watching

thank you sir for your video. i saw you didn't put a little lubrication on the seal i thought it good to put it. i time i did a filter change and after tide in seal broke and i didnt know until i got stock. it suck air and te filter was dry when i remove it was broken. since the time i away put a little oil.
Awesome video how many miles do you go before changing oil and oil filter and how many miles can you go before changing fuel filter?
Great video with explanation! What you do with use oil in Texas ?
thanks for your video sir, i learned a lot from this, my dad has a trucks that we're trying to fix, he's mechanically inclined person so my dad knows how to change oil and fix things, but im not thats why im watching videos like this to learn.. hello from Regina, Canada..
Thanks! Glad it can help!
You have so much space on those trucks not like Volvos have to be rolling around the floor
The pump you used for putting the old used oil into the empty 1 gallons , what part number does it have ?
How often do you change oil and oil filter. As well as your fuel filter? Thanks for posting
You have a video on to do a pm?it’s cuz I don’t want to miss a fitting
15:26 any filters are on the low side of the fuel system before the high pressure fuel pump.
16:24 NEVER EVER EVER RE-USE THE DIESEL IN THE OLDER FILTER. I know he didn’t mention that just putting that out there
Hey quick question, is it hard to get approved to work for landstar. I’m 24 and I been driving for a little over a year but I want to buy a semi and work at landstar. Why would you recommend ? Thank you!
New subscriber, you doing such an amazing things sharing a lot with us,thank you so much and god bless y
I been thinking a lot about joining landstar or Schneider IC,problem here is I never did otr before all my years driving were just local but I drive all the northeast states,do you have a mechanic background .
Stay safe
Hi, thanks for the compliments! Yes, I was a heavy equipment mechanic in the US Navy Seabees for nine years, and worked for Caterpillar, Manitowoc Cranes, and Railworks Track Services before getting into trucking. I started out as an O/O with Schnieder IC a few years ago, I like Landstar a lot better. Please check out our other videos on these topics, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. Enjoy and good luck!
What oil filter wrench do you recomendable?
Question I have two drain valve on my isx cummins freightliner passenger & driver side does it matter what side I open or what side do I open..??

This might be a dumb question but when u unplug the cable from the fuel filter the one that hangs on the cover is it just pull plug or has something holding it together ? Or is there a specific way to unplug ? Thank you in advance
Thank you for posting this video my dad is going to start doing his own oil changes and we found this very informative, but what is the attachment you used on the drill for used oil? From tractor supply we can’t find it?
www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/water-source-drill-pump
This is the link to the attachment. It says for water, but you can use it with oil. But not gasoline and diesel
As always, very educational and very informative. Could you please advice..
You have used Shell Rotella T6 extreme temp fully synthetic oil which I only use it as well. After how many miles will you change your oil 2015 truck with a 2019 brand new block ISX 110K miles. I’m reading change after every 30K to 50K miles depending on local or OTR. I also read change it every 12K miles regardless of the oil type because cummins is a soot monster.
This may sound counter-intuitive, but it's best to determine it by how much oil it consumes. If you consume a lot of oil (~2000 miles / quart or worse), you will want to change it more often. If it doesn't use much oil (say 5k miles/ quart), then you can go a lot longer between oil changes. Obviously still follow the Cummins service intervals for the maximum mileage based on year and fuel economy. The 2017+ X15 doesn't degrade the oil as quickly, so the service intervals are much longer, with up to 80k miles possible, 100k if you do the oil guard program where they check it. On the 2015, the oil drain interval is much shorter (40k if I remember correctly) as a maximum value for high MPG trucks.
Hand tightening oil filter causes it to leak and lower oil pressure from vibration, especially oiling the seal which is not necessary.hand tightening fuel filter will cause it to loosen and loss of power from lower fuel pressure. Baldwin filters are not good for cummins use fleetguard recommended by cummins
So when the engine is running the filter stays slap full?
Just trying to get a CPM savings calculation guesstimate over 100K miles for an average guy. Penny per mile? Nickel per mile? Thanks for the content and making something intimidating doable for the average guy.
I want to know how many letters of engine oil ( Kenworth C500) . Thank you 🙏
place a latex glove over the used filter to prevent spillages
Thanks for the tip, we'll give that a try!
Now that's a damn good idea.
Is oil supposed to be showing black after oil change
what if the oil plug wont break loose?
How about to finish with grease the truck
Do you change oil and fuel filter together all the time?
Yes I do!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with everyone Ryan. I want to be semi truck mechanic and I'm a fast learner can anyone help me where i can learn hands-on training ? Or any program or where i can work and learn at the se time please let me know. Prayers Thanks
If you are nearby, you could work for me as a trainee! 😊
$7 a gallon thats crazy. Can you still find it anywhere near that cheap?
Was that lefty loosey? It looked like you were tightening the plug
It has been a while since I made the video. Couldn't really relate now. sorry.
How often do you need to change the oil/fuel filter on a semi?
I recommend every 12k - 15k miles on conventional.
May i ask why you don't start the engine and let the oil get warmed up before draining it
It was not cold outside, so I didn’t start the engine.
Can you put the link of the filters from Amazon referral program? I have the same engine. That will help you and me!
Thanks for the suggestion! We appreciate your kindness!
Oil Filter Baldwin Bd50000: amzn.to/3ckJa96 Fuel Filter - Baldwin BF9885; Fuel Filter: amzn.to/3bjZnKv
If you have a KW T660, the primary fuel filter is Baldwin PF9928: amzn.to/3dtaT7J
So I took off my fuel filter the NN5825 with the filter wrench and now I’m having such a hard time installing the new one. First time doing this myself, can you tell me if I’m doing something wrong? I just can’t line it up, is it here chance that the thread is bad ?
There is a slight chance that the threat is bad however it’s not likely. Sometimes you should turn backwards before it turns forward, and sometimes took me 15 minutes to get it done. They have to be perfectly straight.
@@truckingandfixing thank you for the reply, I gave up trying yesterday, tried for 3 hours and no luck. Will try again tomorrow, thanks again
Three hours is a long time, good luck tomorrow!
Spill pads nxt tym lots of them jus got myself a truck trying to learn points
Please, someone tell me what socket size is used for the oil screw
There is no socket. It's just a square hole. You use the end of a 1/2 ratchet or breaker bar.
I am a follower. Where did you order bunk heater and what was name of it. Thanks
Hi Edward, here is the heater I bought, it worked pretty well for me. www.amazon.com/dp/B07XXN645J/?tag=ryannsophia-20
@@truckingandfixing thank you.
How often should oil be changed on a semi.
I change mine every 15k to 20k miles
Its not necessary to fill the oil filter, it bypasses it upon start-up until there is oil pressure if you would like to put some in there, sure go ahead, but its not necessary
What brand is that oil drain pan?
Sorry for the long delay. It was a 50 gallon feed pan i got from Tractor Supply. It is about $25 there.
Where did you buy the oil drain pan?
Here is the link to purchase the catch bucket - amzn.to/3FdzVah
@@truckingandfixing I’m talking about the black one oil change
Is that engine an ISX CM2350?
I believe it is a CM2250, I had the ceramic fuel pump issue, that I've since updated. Its a 2012 engine.
@@truckingandfixing ,
Nice video. Rotella is a great oil.
@@williamhorvat8224 Yes, we have pretty good luck with it. I usually bounce between that and Mobil Delvac 1300 Super, whichever I can get a deal on. There is a great rebate offer going on with Mobile Delvac 1300 Super right now though some retailers, they are giving you $25 back for each 5 gallon bucket, up to 3 buckets, or $75 back. That gets the per gallon price down around $7, and that is going on until 31 May 2020.
What does it cost for that service
Probably $300-$600, depends on the oil and filter you choose
@@truckingandfixing ok but how much do you make off the job for you profit
@joed596 it is the cost to take the truck to the repair center
Pretty sure you’re wrong on “dry start”
Good video but maybe condense it down to 8 mins from 42 mins.
Amazon filters are made cheap material
You gotta fire that camera guy.
Fire yourself... this could be his lady.. his mom.. his kid.. appreciate the video asswipe👊🏿
It's his wife and she does a great job and is a fantastic person.
Holds the camera very still, check
Comes in for a better shot, check
There's only so much room to make these shots happen. I'll check your channel and see how your videos look
Yeah your channel has zero subs, terrible content and camera guy...you live in a glass house and your throwing stones.
Video is awesome and very informative for starters but if I may make a little sugestion: next time when you about to change secondary fuel filter just make a small puncture hole on the bottom of a filter with smth sharp and drain that fuel into a bucket or smth, makes easier and less messy.
