    When Sheryl Lee Ralph received an Emmy for her role of Barbara Howard, I almost teared up. Her being the second person receiving that award after Jackeè, is mind boggling. I remember watching an interview and someone not knowing what Sheryl Lee Ralph has accomplished. It’s a shame because she’s been outside. The original Deena, our Dreamgirl ❤️❤️.

    It seems on a lot of these shows when the black family is destroyed by affairs and cheating! Can't never have when the black husband and wife can't have a strong living relationship! Like on Power Angela comes back in Ghosts life and an affair started and the family was destroyed! Well, they both had problems! The writers seem to always make black love nonexistent! I always live Sheryl! She's graceful, smart, and drop dead beautiful! She has always been herself always! She never changed for Hollywood or no one! She put a lot of love in for people with AIDS especially in the early days of the disease! Lots of costars and entertainers died! I'm glad she's getting her props! I love you Sheryl! Thank Karine!!!💋💋💋💋💋💞💞💞💞💞

    • @AmberBrooklyn24
      @AmberBrooklyn24 Рік тому +1

      I’m late to watching Power, I started watching recently and that’s true. Once Ghost stepped out the entire family went downhill. Look what happened to Tariq and Raina smh It was disappointing when they made Frank be a cheater in Moesha smh
      Unfortunately, it’s the sad truth for many in the black community. Sadly, I’ve never seen a relationship where a man didn’t lie, cheat, have babies on his woman, etc. And sometimes it messes up ppl’s views on relationships. Hopefully one day we can have a movie/ show where black families are represented better and hopefully young black boys and girls can see some good positive relationships in real life.

    Ms. Ralph is (was? :) one of the most underrated stars and I’m happy she’s getting her flowers now 💐 I’ve always loved her characters. Such real representation 🤎 She simply oozes integrity!
    And I’ve always thought the same regarding separate spaces for married couples. At least a room that’s your own. Not only does it allow each person to continue their personal self-development but the level of trust to pull this off successfully is everything a relationship needs 🌟
    Beautiful presentation ❤🙏🏾 Yay Sheryl Lee❣️🙌🏾💐🌸🌼

    I am married and me and my husband naturally have our own independent space while living in the same quarters. We share separate bathrooms, closets, and how we both spend our time in terms of ourselves is also individual, along with our friends. I was taught that being in a relationship meant there was no support for freedom, but being in a relationship where we both uplift one another with honorable perimeters, where he has a whole village to turn to and so do I for our own unique development has been so beneficial for me. I don't believe you always have to have separate occupancy, to be holistically stable and sane in a relationship. Just because you get married doesn't stop you from being two separate entities, with lives that are personally enriched, in all honestly it's how you fell in love and in awe of your partner in the first place . Even pertaining to our 3 year old daughter he raises her in a manner that best suits him and I do the same, and living together brings the joy of learning from one another in a way that is respectable and endearing to your person, without looking at one another as controlled substances, it gets into that realm when you don't know who you are, and what environment best encourages your growth and destination. Or else it will be like swimming against the tide. I believe you have to identify your intent and your focal desire on why you want to be in a romantic union, Goldie Hawn said it best, just to detail it in my own words, his individualism belongs to him and mine belongs to me, I am just here to make love and be loved by you.

    Personally I'd not like to live away from my husband as we have two toddlers. I do find comfort in sleeping next to him. During the day I do have my own personal area of the house to rest/relax.
    When the kids are old enough to move out it'll become my personal zone as our bedroom is basically my husbands. He has his game setup there. But I'd still sleep in the same bed as him.
    I'm not much of a talker and he can talk underwater. It can drain me. So off to my little zone I go.

    I met a woman who had been married about 30 years at the time and she told me that she and her husband live in separate houses. They stay at each other's house a few days a week and help each other with bills and when they get sick of each other they retreat to their own houses for personal time. It was something I had always wanted to do if I got married but thought it was way too unconventional so my mind was blown when I realized people actually do this. It really does work.

    I too am someone who would prefer to live separately from my partner. I have tried the live-in relationship situation and in the long run, I don’t believe it work. Or at least for me. I am single now because I don’t believe anyone I date would be okay with living apart longterm without there being some sort of distrust involved. So to avoid all that, I just dont try. I am happy and complete on my own. Adding someone else in to my life would be just that, an addition. Not a completion.

    I'm telling you high school and middle school was crazy with the bullying just because you were Haitian and we were scared to call ourselves Haitian like a lot of people were scared so we would say and lie that we were Jamaican so people wouldn't crack on us like we really had a hard after winning our independence people were not excepting of us and bullying us making us feel ashamed but we have the same skin tone as they do us Haitian kids in the 2000s and before really really came along way🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾

    Hey! Love your channel and I love your messy/tea-filled breakdown videos. I've been on a binge of your channel. You bring real honest truth to a lot of stars that I never knew about. I was wondering if I can get a breakdown video of the 60's singer Ronettes group leader Ronnie Spector's life and her marriage to crazy Phil Spector?

    Just celebrated 30 years and I’m married to an amazing partner. We had separate financial arrangements, separate bedrooms/bathrooms/closets for the first 20 years. We had very little disagreements over money as we each contributed the prorated share for our mutual expenses. It meant I never had to ask for money; or feel like someone else was in control over me. We are both good stewards of our resources. I’m never giving up my sanctuary of a private bedroom, bath or closet. We now live in a 2 bedroom condo…trust me that some privacy is good for each partner. Really enjoy your channel and wanted to add to the question you had about autonomy within a relationship.
