Loved it! I had a friend, one of my mom's nurses, who would also offer cleaning services of homes or apartments to the families of the recently deceased. She would take before and after photos for her business portfolio. She figured out I had an interest in the paranormal and showed me an after picture of an empty room she had cleaned and standing at the window just gazing outside was a semi-transparent younger lady. In my eyes it looked very legitimate. The lady she was taking care of was elderly, so it could've been her spirit from younger years. As far as I know she had no interest in the paranormal, in fact she deleted the picture after sending me a copy.

My sister lived in a haunted house in the eighties and used a Polaroid camera. Every picture taken in the house was covered with mist. Some of them had figures and faces. None of us realized what they were and she threw away dozens of them.

I was a hospice nurse (for patients who were in their own homes) for 17 years. I experienced so many things that were supernatural. This Eerie Edinburgh reminds me of a particular patient. She was a sweet older lady, dearly loved by her family. She died early one morning and they called me. Her two daughters and I were sitting at the kitchen table, waiting for the funeral home staff to arrive to take her body. One daughter told the story of waking to feeling the presence of her mother, kissing her cheek, causing her to rise from bed. The other daughter cried and appeared shocked, recounting the exact story, and both daughters had arrived at Mom’s bedside together, finding she had just died. She loved those girls and needed to say goodbye.

Love your videos. When my dad died I was living in a different Canadian city about 1600 km from him. The night before he died I felt someone in my apartment. I didn't see anyone, but I knew someone was there. I went to sleep and woke up about 3:30am. A few hours later my brother called me and said our dad had died at the very time I woke up.
The night my mother's brother died in our house, my brother woke up and saw him at the end of the bed. Our uncle told him that he must take care of our mother (his sister). My brother was confused because at that moment, he did not know our uncle had just died of a heart attack in the guest room. Our Canadian uncle fought in D-Day alongside the Canadian actor, James Doohan ("Beam me up Scotty" in the original TV Star Trek). James and my uncle trained in Scotland before D-Day. When James was chosen to play the engineer in Star Trek, he was asked if he wanted to use an accent. He chose to try a Scottish accent. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I was on Rutland Street last night there were plenty of Ghouls pouring out the Bars , many of them were bent over making strange retching noises and projectile vomiting the contents of their stomachs on the pavement. Scary and revolting. Seriously though I worked in the old Debenhams building on Princes street in the 80s it had an internal Link bridge over old Rose street lane where lots of machinery and air ducts were for the store, I had to go up there sometimes on my own I hated it, because I always felt there was something up there with me watching me so I was always reluctant, my thoughts were realised when I saw a man at the end of the link looking at me around at the corner of a dead end he was wearing an old hat and his head was swaying from side to side, I thought it was a colleague playing a joke on me I walked up thinking I am going to catch them in the act, as I neared the corner the figure disappeared and I turned the corner expecting to see one of the maintenance guys laughing at me, there was nobody there just an empty dead end space. I got out of that area as fast as I could because I suspected I had seen a ghost and to this day I still think I did I never told a soul about that experience until I met a colleague years after I had left that job we went for a drink and I told them about it and they told me about an old guy on the lane who was mugged and beaten to death in the early 1900s. I don't know if they were linked but it made me think.

My maternal grandparents lived in NYC, we lived in MD. We often visited at holidays; and after I turned 10, I spent most of the summer with them. I come from a strong Keltic heritage and have been 'gifted' with experiences such as precognition, astral projection and clairvoyance. I cannot control these events, they usually 'arrive' when I've cleared my mind. They simply enter. My grandmother had passed and my Poppa was living alone, my mother had gone to stay with him and help him out. I wasn't there when he passed and I didn't go to the funeral. The why escapes me know, I was 16 when he died. I loved them both, but i LOVED him. Some time later, I was in school waking down the hallway to a group of my friends at the end of the hall. Nothing was off, or odd, The usual sights, sounds and experiences every teenager understands as the high school environment. I had waved to them, one waved back and then it happened. NOTHING happened; all sound was gone, disappeared, dissipated. The 'air' was altered also, it was uh, well dimmer somehow. And all at once I 'felt' my Poppa all around me. It was the most calming, soothing sensation up to that time, I had ever experienced. I was not thinking of him, his funeral or anything about him. And there he was, comforting me. No words happened but he was telling me he was alright and everything would be fine. I'm still walking towards my friends, basking in the glow of the warmth he showered on me when all of a sudden, sound returned. A door slammed, someone yelled to another kid and it was over. Since that time, I've lost both parents and some friends, and I have not experienced any other crisis apparitions. My talent began when I was 6; I'll recount that at another time. But I will say, that I have 'felt' the death of my other grandmother and the murder of a close friend. I simply 'knew'.

My friend, I wish you and yours a belated merry Christmas and a very happy new year. Ghost stories and Christmas go hand in hand. Cheers to more spooky stories from Scotland in the coming year. The stone tape theory is interesting, in my opinion, but it is unable to account for everything that goes bump in the night.

Oohh I stayed on Rutland Square last time I was in Edinburgh - so close to the location of this story!
My Scottish mother was sensitive to these sorts of things. After my Grandad died, she went back to help my Grandma with the funeral etc... One night, she saw the ghost of her father at the foot of her mother's bed, and he reassured her that he was alright, that she didn't have to worry about him. My mom was reassured by that, and told my Grandma about it the next morning.

Tragedy always makes for a great haunting.. even Christmas songs from the 60s 70s amd 80s mention mention of telling ghost stories at Christmas.. unfortunately, it is no longer acceptable inserting households to tell ghost stories at Christmas they are reserved simply for Halloween.. the Victorians invented ghost stories and told them very well.
I believe in the stone tape theory I always have silica is found in many many things.. it is found in the earth it is found in stone, hence why it's called the stone tape theory?
It's still a popular big belief among Paranormal Investigators and has been for as long as I can remember?
When the conditions are right tragedy is replayed to the lucky few who are there at the right time to witness such events.
I've always been a big believer also the most sightings are just replays like someone just hit the play button on a DVD player.. you cannot interact with such things..
Thank you Erie Edinburgh for splendid Sunday evening

@ShaunUnderwoodx the only reason people did it was for entertainment when there was nothing else to distract them. I never heard ghost stories growing up in the 80s. But again the BBC did show ghost stories on xmas eve, it then stopped but brought them back ad hoc in the early 00s and 10s but full back since 2021.

Did I see his ghost or was it a last minute out of body he was having.. and yes I do see people and pets having out of body or remote viewing experiences.

I learned some new things about my family this Christmas... my mom & grandma (her mom) were talking about grandpa's dad (Popo) who I barely remember and who passed away in my early teens.... turns out he had been a radio operator at the base at White cliffs of Dover during WW2! I knew my grandma's dad served and had seen his medals before they were lost but no idea about Popo! My mom does all the ancestry stuff for the family and keeps track of all that but I guess she got some details mistaken. She sat there, Christmas day, updating the information as they talked and Grandma & me knitted socks 😆

After my gran died in 2003, I was in bed at home, I was 19.
At about 2am I woke up because I felt someone sit on my bed, I opened my eyes and it was my grandma, she was almost like someone had drawn her but with a luminescent pen, in that I mean all the outlines and details of her were softly glowing, she smiled at me and the faded in the space of a second or 2 into tiny specks of light, then darkness. It was beautiful and felt loving.
She used to sit on my bed as a child when they babysat me and my brother, because I used to sleep walk and sometimes have bad nightmares, she used to always make sure I was safe and sound.

Wouldn't Mrs. Jamieson want a return to normality? "Normalcy" was coined by Warren G. Harding in 1920. (I happen to remember one of my teachers mentioning that. (If I misheard, my apologies.)

Just to say - the season of the return of the sun may not have had Christmas, but Scots had very joyous New Year celebrations, so they made up for the loss by the Protestants!!! Happy New Year, Scotland 😁✨🌺🕯️🎄☀️🕊️💥☃️🥂🍾🎊

He said the candle adorned tree made him think of the celestial stars illuminated above the meager manger that Christ was born in.
