    Thank you for updating! I think the best next step is to call customer service if possible and discuss your routine and application.
    I just acquired K18 to check for myself. I intend to do extreme clarifying with dawn soap, then apply K18, then use Shea moisture deep conditioner ( I love the 10in1) for 30 mins, then rinse then use Shea moisture leave in conditioner.
    I would then clarify the same way with dawn soap before the next K18 application. From the sounds of it you didn't clarify for at least a month?
    The K18 is supposed to help repair damage from processes like heat and dying. I'll have to watch your other videos to see what you said about prior damage.
    If you want to try the dawn soap clarify, I would dilute it and maybe avoid it on scalp.

      thanks for the input! I’m actually about to film my final thoughts and have it uploaded today or tomorrow. I did clarify for the first application and then at about the month mark. I’ll be honest, if your hair is prone to getting dry and brittle, definitely be careful! During that time though, I pretty much used no conditioner (huge mistake) except for reverse washing (i think i started at week 3) and k18 absolutely will not make your hair softer like a conditioner does. I thought replacing silicones with k18 would be similar and it’s very clear to me after this experience that it isn’t. Totally my mistake on that end. I’m very much looking forward to my regular wash routine and I’ll have a review on a product that I think will really give my hair the moisture it needs again after this experience. I would be careful how deeply you’re clarifying because your hair will still need some natural oils with this product I feel like but honestly, everyone’s hair is different. You’ll definitely have to keep me posted on how you like it!! Thanks for your comment!

    I have been following this journey since the first video and wow I'm so happy you managed to use the product for this long. I think (and this is just my opinion not a fact) that your hair is severely lacking moisture. If I find my hair is breaking easily I use purely moisture products in my routine and what I found helps a lot is a prepoo. African Pride has one for like 5 dollars. Another thing you can do is deep condition prior to shampooing which is the similar idea to the prepoo. Really let it sit for the recommended time on the label usually 10-15 minutes on wet hair and then shampoo. I would also recommend maybe using olaplex no 6 and 7 directly on wet hair after you apply the Shea moisture leave in conditioner (which has protein in it. If you want to try a hair routine without protein, shea moisture miracle styler is a great alternative but having too many products can build up lol I digress) and actually completing the LCO method on wet/damp hair (LCO - leave in, cream, oil). I personally find my hair actually is better hydrating on more wet hair than damp as it penetrates deeper within the hair strands. Hope there's at least one tip thats useful :)

      Another thought is your hair could be lacking nutrition, like oils and butters usually found in conditioners. If you like DIY, the capillary schedule has many diy masks for nutrition. There's usually three components to haircare and people usually know two, protein and moisture, but many forget the nutrition one.

      first of all, THANK YOU for following the entirety of this journey pretty much. You have been so wonderfully active and i am so appreciative of all your input! I think you’re spot on, my hair is so deprived of moisture. I’m dying for a deep conditioner 😭 I usually use moisture only products too (and steer super clear of protein products) and I find that’s when my hair is healthiest. I just ordered one of my favorite deep conditioners but a slightly different one that I might like more but maybe that will have to be my regular content video. I could for sure get into a prepoo, i’ve never tried it but i’m not opposed!! would you say it’s similar to a scalp clarifier leaving it on that long? The wet hair olaplex idea is great, usually i just think of no 6 as a styler nowadays but definitely need to use it on wet hair (i used to but idk why i stopped!) . I think the shea miracle styler will be on my list next time instead of a leave-in, I’m wondering if I’m getting too much protein from that which could make my hair break off too. Love all the tips thank you SO much! I’ll be applying the wet hair products for my next wash here in week 6!

      @@KindlyChristina Scalp clarifier is a type of shampoo directed on the scalp. Prepoo, meaning pre-shampoo, is usually using an oil or humectant based prepoo (like aloe vera gel, flaxseed gel, okra gel, etc.) or even a deep conditioner to soften the hair in prep for a harsh shampoo. (Oil or water based scalp treatments also exist and used before shampoo but not relevant in this case.) The prepoo goes on the strands and it softens the strands to help better lubricate before shampoo so no it isn't really the same for the clarifier. Actually which clarifier do you use? Also the Shea miracle styler is in fact a leave in conditioner and works wonders (altho the cap can be problematic at times). I would highly recommend a prepoo like your deep conditioner mixed with a light oil like avocado oil, argan oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, squalane oil, etc. Any of these are amazing for fine hair (altho the oil added is completely optional)

      @@ceystal makes sense the differences between that and a scalp clarifier !!! I’m currently using a pantene clarifier as that was all they had at my walgreens when I was looking for one (literally the only one i could find). I am looking forward to getting my deep conditioning mask in and maybe i’ll mix it with a little olaplex no 7 for some added oils! Your comment is so helpful, ty sm!!!

    Do you plan on trying redken acidic bonding concentrate next since you haven’t had much luck with olaplex and k18? I was going to order the “professional” bottle of it from a beauty supply online. Think it’s supposed to close the hair shaft instead of fill it.

    • @KindlyChristina
      @KindlyChristina  2 роки тому +1

      Wow I didn’t even know this existed!! The idea of closing the hair shaft might be more what I need. I just looked it up, were you looking into trying the whole line or just the intensive treatment? Might try to pick some up and put it on my list to try and review for you!!!

    • @kattwilliams2964
      @kattwilliams2964 2 роки тому +1

      Your review would be awesome, don’t really want to mess around with the whole line unless the intensive treatment is spectacular. I heard it was conceived because L’Oréal who owns redken wanted to compete with olaplex and olaplex sued them and won so this was their alternative.
