Man, I had so many emotions during this scene. From tremendous fury towards Hermes to utter sadness that everything with Hythodaelus and Emet, all of the bonding we just did, would cease to exist. Elpis was a trip.
"I bid them all this time to remember, but it seems I was the one who had forgotten... a right fool you've made of me, Hermes! And to add insult to injury, I've been denied a sound rest... forced to watch this clamorous show!"

when you realize it not just his legacy....but that of everyone who has ever lived....
it is so tragic- he said to have us remember them but he is the one who forgot about us.
On top of that we both try to kill each other...
This was the line that change my entire opinion on Emet Selch. I realized here that he had NO idea what had happened, and made the only choice he could to restore his people.
This line along with our WOL trying to reach up to Emet and Emet smiling was all I needed to cry yet another time. Its amazing how this game manages to break you into pieces over just one tiny line of dialog. This tiny line of dialog having so many heavy implications and ramifications you feel the weight of all these thousand years and deaths upon your shoulders.
The game has so many moments like this, where one tiny piece of dialog makes the story flash before your eyes as you add yet another game changing layer to it all.
It's such a meaningful line, because at this moment he truly doesn't believe the WoL. But perhaps their familiarity, or because of just how crazy that day has been, he's willing to suspend his disbelief and encourage them all the same.

I love how all the Elpis stuff was like a prequel done right. You already know who’s going to live and die, but still totally engaging plot
yeah it hit so hard at Hermes action as well everyone else involved.

This is probably my favourite piece of music in Endwalker after Close in the Distance.
It's uplifting and makes me feel heroic. Gets you really hype.

You know the cutscene is about to go hard as fuck when this plays.
It always reminds me of this important scene, the story of two unforgotten heroes!
I love that the chain of events that will lead to saving the universe is basically tricking one of the villains in a "look over there" plan. This expansion's writing was so good.
Was never a villain.
I think that's actually one of the most poorly written scenes in the game for the reason you like it...
it's another "and now I must monolgue on how I tricked you while you stare at me doing nothing because I assure you this combat tactic was very smart and cool"
Feels like the writer is just insecure.
Not to say it's objectively bad but there is a lot of cringe that comes along with all the good in this game.

Honestly, this fit Hythlo XD I bet he was THE ONE why they where friends, cause they were a bunch of odd Amaurotians. Seriously I think he was the glue of everyone. Just recall the last scene to Hades "Please, don´t be that way" hahahaha.
I bet we will see them again. from now on... well, we know what happens with the flow of aether and such ;P
Hermes was so distracted with his "mankind must be put to the test" shtick that he forgot where the spatial confluence was in the building he was in charge of
First time going through this cutscene, for a split second I though Hylodeaus was evil because of that smirk he put on as your character was flying off the platform, and I screamed until Emmet and him were talking about their plan to confuse Hermes. I don’t think I ever sighed so heavily with relief in my life. XD
Reaper reveal and Job Actions trailer theme! Loved it then, I love it now! I love that it's the "heroes do something daring" theme like Dangerous Words was for ShB.

this theme always makes me smile. it's quite possibly my favorite in the entire game at least as far as non-fight OSTs are concerned. i loved the ancients so much, i felt so "saved" already just being in elpis with these scholarly and calm people.
It took me FOREVER to find this track. Loved hearing this during the final FINAL bout with Scarmiglione.

This theme is used so much, it just goes to show how important Hythlodaeus was and the impact he had
I would call this Hythlodaeus' theme, since it has that upbeat optimism that he always showed.

Same, that or the theme of Hyth, Hades, and Azem together as a trio, solving problems and saving the world. Here, and then again in Thule this plays when they create the flower field for us. Goosebumps every time.
Many of my FC Friends started crying when the WoL reached out to Emet when he was talking. I felt that so much. I swear the story was so great to have the players fall in love with a character like Emet, who we had to fight in the previous expansion and had the privilege to fight alongside him and our new old friend in endwalker. This game is truly spectacular
I always get the biggest grin on my face during this song, even when I know I'll be sobbing my eyes out thirty seconds later lol

It's scenes like this which made me forget wol is technically the size of their thumbs by comparison
This scene was so insanely uplifting and satisfying. A culmination of wonderful writing and an impeccable accompanying soundtrack. Endwalker is a portfolio of right decisions.

My favourite character during the entire expac. Very charming fellow.
I like to imagine the WOL was in on the plan just because it’s definitely something Azem would do from what we’ve heard. It’s such a childish plan but done in such a genius way that it somehow works.
Bro.. This music gives like a hope feeling its awesome. FF has always supplied amazing scores.

Did not find this spectacular at first but all of a sudden I just found myself playing this song repeatedly in my mind for about an hour.
Our dream team. If possible I would have saved their paradise and lived alongside them happily ever after.
I always record every msq instance each time this theme came up, that smooth transition between cutscenes and the battle without stopping the music, because you cannot re-live the moment from Unending Journey table

Ancient Hythlodaeus: * Smiles* "You know you love Azem. Don't try to hide it! You're their biggest fan and you know it. Both versions of their soul!
Future Hythlodaeus when summoned: Don't let him try and fool you. He dropped a chunk of his popcorn on the floor... TWICE and gripped my arm in fear when he saw you fighting Hydaelyn and taking that tank buster alone when thancred was stunned. AND just about started Crying when those twins disappeared because he was worried you wouldn't make it.
Future Emet-Selch: I most certainly did NOT start CRYING. I knew for a blatant FACT that they would make it to this point without giving into dispair. I had full trust in their willpower knowing that they would continue so long as their friends souls fought to allow them to!
Future Hythlodaeus: Told you he was your biggest fan.
Hythlodaeus was my personal favorite for this expansion . And of the ascians in general he's also the most compassionate and pragmatic . He knows how to see both good and evil and the pros and cons of both without being biased . To me he was more worthy of the title "Elidibus" than Themis was . I love Emet but Hythlodaeus is my favorite "new old friend".

He's the random Amaurotian shade from Shadowbringers that was aware he was just a shade created by Emet-Selch
@@GoIdenbaum He was also the Chief of the Architect’s Bureau and best friends with Emet-Selch and our character (Azem) during the past when the Ancients lived.

Creation magic is extremely specific. Emet subconsciously believed his old friend would be the one amongst everyone else to realize he was a recreation, and thus he did.

I remember back when one of the older trailers showed up I thought this was gonna be the battle theme. Shame it's not, but it still absolutely slaps

We know too much about hearing boss music, but isn't this OUR boss theme? After all, Azem is the wanderer and on our wanderings we ensure nothing is forgotten and everything lives on in our endless tale, specially now on Her absence and after we banished His existence.
Before I looked it up, I thought this was the main theme of Endwalker. That piano melody does appear there but I wish it was more prominent, it's a great motif.
If only it was possible to find a video that's just the track without needing to have spoilers all over the screen

I wouldn't say it's Hythodaeus' theme, they play it at the very beginning of the expansion with the Scions. Still an awesome song though👏

Hermes literally did nothing wrong.
Hermes made a few mistakes there, but he did have the right of it regarding the Ancients, their treatment of their creations, and even of themselves.
A few more millennia and they would be praising Ra-La.
I love Hermes as a complex character but he willingly chose to be an antagonist and enable Meteion to cause the Final Days when given the choice to detain her or let her go in Ktisis. He is directly responsible for wiping out half of the Ancient life even if he doesn't remember making that choice. Yes it's not as black and white as "Hermes bad" but to say he did nothing wrong is a bit of a reach. There's a reason there's a whole quest dedicated to asking you where you stand on his actions, they are meant to be morally questionable just like Emet-Selch's and Venat's actions.

It's not available as an orchestrion roll in-game. This is the name of the song as it appears on the soundtrack.
