It can get annoying when you just want to relax at home or outside somewhere and someone just revs their loud vehicle.
For the GSX R, engine idling is at 3000 rpm (edit : I said something wrong, check answers for real informations)
And also for old F1 cars/Indy Cars they started at 4 to 5k because their power band between that and 12k

From Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Owners Manual:
"Turn the throttle stop screw knob 1 in or out so that the engine idles at 1050 - 1250 r/min"
That's highly doubtful given the delay between the throttle being blipped and the tachometer moving. If it were idling a 3k it would move immediately, but if were down around 1.8 - 2k, the delay would make sense.

8-1 exhaust doesn't just sound amazing, it genuinely makes a significant amount more power like 75lb-ft of torque and about 100hp.
but mostly the gains are top end. low-end torque pipes can sound just as badass in engines you will never rev to the moon
9:40 diesels are actually pretty clean, if you dont remove half of the exhaust and straight pipe it
lol my 5.9 24V cummins has no more than 5 inch straight pipe from the turbo to the very back, stock tune too. barely produces smoke even if i do an "acceleration test" by flooring it
@@DeezNuts-yg8zy Because its tuned correctly. Black smoke is caused by too rich of a fuel mixture, which actually reduces power unless you can up compression or boost to make up for it with more air (moh powah baybee)
Black smoke rolling coal tunes are just for show, like pop and tune bangs in your average BRZ/Hot hatch
@@BasedManyep, a little smoke when flooring it is the best tune for power but in some cases like tractor pulling it's necessary to tune it that rich to keep the temperature of the engine down while still keeping power

That truck at the end there held his slide pretty well. Funny that with the weight and soft suspension, you could see every steering correction through body roll!
Small engine motorcycles usually don’t have the bottom rpm because they need to idle so high to keep the rotating mass going. Also, the power band is so high up the manufacturer doesn’t want you driving the bike at 1000 RPM lugging the engine and destroying the bike, therefore they make the RPMs on those 12,000-20,000 RPM 250cc start higher up so you use the bike correctly and not like a v8 that stops reving at 5k. With Bikes like those their designs to work in high rpm scenarios and easiest way to put it, is you paid for that tachometer use the thing

In the 90's Japan's motorcycle manufacturers went to war with their 250cc class bikes making them inline4 and they were and still are some amazing bikes. Notable one being the Honda Fireblade CBR250RR, with it being able to rev to 20,000 RPMS
happy to say I own one of these style of 250s, not the honda but still manages to get to 18.5k rpm, absolute blast and sad the rest of the world didn't get them

here in Brazil, fiat is selling the Pulse Abarth with a "factory ECU tune", originally it comes with 185hp, and the new version have a "stg2 tune" with 220hp, without the loss of waranty.
that's some of the reason why fiat has always done so well here...

4:15 if u wanna see some high revving bikes look at the 1989 Honda CBR250RR. Looks really similar to that Suzuki actually, except it had an inline 4 that revved out to 18,000RPM. Sounded like an F1 car

I never thought I'd want this to this day, but a 8 to 1 exhaust V8 sounds violent and I like it, might be something I do when I'll get a muscle car.

The last truck was shaking while drifting just like in beamng 😁.
The bike that has tachometer starting from 3k might be because manufacturer simply doesn't want you to use any lower RPMs while driving for example because of low oil presure.
For example many Honda magna with v4 engines users advice to rise up a little bit idle as it is known to produce low oil presure ad those idle RPMs.
V8 engines with 8 to 1 headers were to loud for the microphones that were recording them. Maybe it could be tweaked in settings and the sensitivity could be reduced, but after recording was done it is too late and all we can hear is clipping. 😔 Still, sound reminds me of those mods like 2x X pipe mounted on V8 or something like that.
The 1GZ swapped miata project has a 12 to 1 header and we've been waiting for almost 4 years to hear it !
And now imagine someone buys a new fiat and paints it grey 😂
Okay. I love Fiat for doing that. Now if they also would stop making SUV's they'd have my adoration, because SUV's are literally the equivalent of grey.

The 8-1 header almost sounds like a flatplane V8. Absolute eargasm.
it is a type of header known as 180 degree (possible with either an 8-1 or 2 4-1 headers) which is basically a few pairs of equal length runners, which cause the exhaust impulses to all land every 180 degrees of the crankshaft, rather than 90 in a crossplane. basically yes, it sounds exactly like it would with equal length headers if it was a flat plane

The first car was 8 into 1 to feed the turbo. It's the turbo that makes it sound like that, not the 8 into 1.
No, the 8-1 is definitely a significant part of the sound there. A turbo will change it more, sure, but not every turbo LS sounds like that.

The gsxr tach is similar to the ford ranger speedometer

Hey mighty last week after i got back from the nascar race at watkins glen i went to a historic race car museum in Philadelphia where they had original and restored cars from 1905 all the way to 1970, and it was a demo day so they had 4 cars run around for a bit, god it was amazing, oh and one thing i find funny is that they have an og 1966 ford gt that actually competed in le mans but it was tue one problem child that had transmission issues
