The Liberty City Optimist Club - 2024 Program of the Year Award

The Liberty City Optimist Club (LCOC) has been in operation since 1990 providing youth a variety of youth sports for ages 4 -16 years; football, soccer, basketball, baseball, cheer, dance, flag football and track & field. The LCOC after-school, tutoring and summer programs are open to youth ages 5 -17 years in Liberty City and surrounding neighborhoods.
In 33 years of programming, the LCOC has influenced the lives of thousands of children, young people and families. It has developed an outstanding relationship with its immediate community, Liberty City, as well as local and county governments, funding sources, and other nonprofit organizations.
The LCOC has been a pillar in Liberty City/Model City community, which has often been associated with crime and poverty. Amid these challenges, outstanding individuals have emerged as leaders in the community who have their roots
in the LCOC.
