Hitting an E5 in falsetto isn't hard. It's doing it beautifully stable, powerful and controlled like this that is the challenge and what makes it so incredibly iconic.
@@thecarrierpigeon6657 Don't comment on what you clearly don't understand... And if it's intended sarcasm, you need _any_ level of singing capability and knowledge to understand what I mean.
Before I became dumb enough to start smoking, I remember singing this song for a musical audition. And the faces were pretty much IDENTICAL to those 🤣. E5, what a beautiful note
I'll never forget running into my old vocal coach.... while I was smoking a ciggarette. She looked at me with pure disgust, literally said "for shame" and then walked away like I was the scum of the earth.
As a baritone who finally perfected this songs soprano I am proud of my achievement. Never as good as the real deal of course but it's so fun having the whole songs range under your belt
When I was an early teenager, I got into singing and I could legitimately hit that beautiful tone perfectly. Puberty hit me like a freight train and by 16, if I tried to move the air to hit that sound again, the air would suddenly get like... trapped? It's so strange and frustrating!
E5 in falsetto isn’t hard, but when you can hold it out smoothly without marking sound like you’re reaching for it is what makes it so amazing. Love this song with my life btw!!
I had the widest range of anyone in my middle school choir and I still couldn't do this part. It took hitting puberty and getting my bass voice to do it, lol
I played this once with 500 other people in Indiana’s INpact band. I play trumpet. The trumpets had melody. The melody had that fateful G. That note nearly killed me, a trumpet with just over a year of experience.
The older you get the more you realize how much a piece of art this music is 🤣

Thank you , im not a singer and i can hit it pretty close.....anybody with any talent should be able to do it with no problem
What?
Yes it fucking is lmao, my vocal cords only allow about a 1 millimeter difference in vocal pitch 😂

Growing up is realising the high notes said "in a day or twoooo"
NO WAY
i always thought it was torotorotoooooo
“I’ll be gone for a day or two” how tf did you not know that
@@DontEvenLiftBro *in a day or two 😂😂
What did you think he said..?
Almost 40 years later and Morten can still do it.
For real? Dang
I want the 80's music back also! 👍
I love 80s music.
"I'll be gone in a day or two" - that line has so much more meaning now
To to to toooooooo😂

"the singer" is called Morten Harket! 🇳🇴
And he is not blonde
SO is everyone else in the clip
Did you make that up or real?
@@ArthurMorgnaIf I made up the singers name? No. He is the vocalist in a norwegian band named A-ha. And yes, he is not blonde! 😊
Not to flex but I live so close to him that I can walk to him (yes I know where he lives, and no I wont be telling it because of security reasons)
I can feel everyone’s soul ascending on that high note
🙄
Hitting the "in a day" at the end is so much higher than the E5 note during the chorus
I'm really proud of norway whit this band

Me too
I'll always be disappointed they never recorded a Norwegian version of any of their songs.
Jeg antar du er norsk, siden du heter Arild
@@hyacintholuna 🤭😂😂😂👍
Morten Harket is a unique combination of a great talent, striking beauty and solid personality❤

Morten is an amazing singer 😍
The best 80s song imo
I just noticed this song, and liked it on Spotify now it pops up very many times
As I get older and I'm 47 years old I look back now at all the music from the '80s even the one hit wonders how good and talented they actually were.
A-ha weren't really one hit wonders
@@wierdalien1 absolutely they were name me a second hit that equaled take on me? And don't look it up even though you will
@@joebsniffs they were in the anglosphere, but not in their native Norway. But ok

I googled it and only knew one other song. Absolutely one-hit wonders but they were quite good
This song is a classic I didn't see that coming when Morten hit the high note I was in a reaction like ' damn that was sharp ' 💥 ✌🏾
Real. Absolutely real.
Literally my favorite song right now, love this

Aha is a great band from Norway. The lead singer still has the voice today. A rare find!

Unlike most of you, I was alive when this song came out. Heard it so many times on the radio in high school. 80s music for the win. 💯 😎
I love singing that song so much, hitting the high note is so fun
When this comes anywhere you just have no choice but sing along
That's how the whole 80s reacted

Genuinely an easy note to do, especially given he's a tenor. It still sounds very beautiful.
this song is so good it makes me cry
How beautiful this song is still
After much consideration over the years I think I'm starting to come to the conclusion that "Take on me" is the greatest song ever.
LoL that's so true, but the most people doesn't know that "Take me On" part is really really hardest 😂
this song is now the pain of my existence, knowing I'll never again get that high.
I was just listening to that song and now this pops up! It’s hilarious 😂 I thought of that when I was listening to it earlier today lol.
This is one of my favorite songs ever for some reason. I'm a 2008 baby, but I love this kind of music. Me and my mom be jamming

My mom listening to me singing this song out of nowhere:
Love that song too
Pre puberty I hit that note no problem but now it’s like that option was deleted and my voice just cracks and dies
It’s beautiful we know he had the voice of an angel

It would have been amazing if Morten had really blown Påul and Magne away in the studio with that vocal.

Ah yes, the karoke killing note.
The second I saw the text I knew exactly what part of the song it was talking about
I used to be able to get my voice higher than that even after I hit puberty. But now I don’t even get close to it
