    I have Bipolar Disorder. I started using TDCS about a month ago and have stopped taking my medications, but not under my doctor's supervision. I feel better. Even when I was on the meds I had suicidal thoughts all the time. I haven't had as many of those thoughts since doing TDCS. I wouldn't recommend this approach to anyone personally, because everyone is different, but I was at the point that I felt my quality of life was so bad that I'd rather just be dead than have to keep taking medications that weren't helping. This device has given me a new hope.

    Thank you so much for posting this video! I just received mine today and I am very excited to see the results.I am like most people seeking a solution for my lifelong depression and now 66 years old. In the beginning I went through a year of testing the various antidepressants, dietary habits, even ECT. have been on MAO Nadil, for 32 years and it grows less effective. The depression has only grown worse as I have aged.
    Like many of us with depression, it easily takes over your life, family's and friends with it's overwhelming effects.
    I saw an ad on Facebook ordered.
    Used it once this morning for 20 minutes at the level 1m A. I was feeling little down as usual and do believe I felt more positive after! Now by evening, I can swear it made a difference in my whole day.
    I plan to use it again tomorrow morn. Hopefully, I will need it less often as the neurotransmitters begin sparking better in my brain.
    Thanks again!

    Still going strong. I'm glad to see these devices are catching on. I wish the medical community would promote this as an option. I mentioned this to my old doctor and his reaction was one of disgust. I now have a new doctor who encourages me to keep using it as long as I have no side effects. None so far. The Omni stimulator is the least expensive one I found. The quality is good.

      To be a bit more clear. I'm (or used to be) a more or less depressed person. so I bought a device. I use the same montage as in the video. Read this blog post for more information.
      speakwisdom.wordpress.com/2014/08/12/almost-criminal-tdcs-still-an-unknown-depression-treatment/
      I used the device on a Tuesday evening, during Wednesday a could feel a big difference. Especially they way I think about anxiety. Since than my life has changed. I mean I have still my depressive thoughs, but it is all less serious, so it is by far more easy to deal with it.
      I'm going to see a professional tdcs person, because a want to know if i'm on the right track and a want to know more about this.
      Further I will do efforts that more depressed people can have a try on this. I still can't belief I dealt 30 year with depression, spent 1000 of hours and dollars, and than there is a device witch costs 99 $ and 20 minutes of time and has by far the biggest influence to my life. (I had also good results with Neuroptimal, but only for a couple of seconds per month.)

      TDCS has changed my life so drastically that my ADHD symptoms have mostly vanished. I just got diagnosed with ADHD and my psychologist had me take an IQ test and i scored 71. Now that was before using TDCS but i can say with confidence that my IQ raised at least 20 points since when i first started using it. My ADHD ruined almost every aspect of my life. When it came to any social interactions, jobs, confidence, women, respect, friends, i failed in everything i mentioned, and even made me never get my drivers license because i failed the test twice. I could only follow what people say HALF the time so you can imagine how severe my ADHD was and without medication it was even WORSE. Now I'm 30 years old and a failure in life in every aspect of adult life but since starting TDCS i have dreams that can actually be fulfilled. I can live as a normal human being. I feel like I'm no longer stuck at a dead end road and because of it i have confidence I'll pass and get my drivers license, make more money, be more social, get a girlfriend, and live INDEPENDENTLY for once. TDCS saved my life and I'm absolutely baffled by the fact that it isn't FDA approved in the US or a actual treatment for those that have severe ADHD like i did. All i can say is WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT TDCS SOONER I COULD HAVE GOT MY LIFE ON TRACK 10 YEARS AGO 😭 All those people that looked down on me and treated me like garbage for not having my life together are going to pay the price dearly now.

    TDCS really works. A few points for anyone interested in trying this out.
    - This is not a one time solution. It may take several treatments before you see any improvement. Generally once a day for 20 minutes. It may take several weeks of daily treatments to see full results, then once or twice a week to maintain.
    - Sponges need to be dipped in a saline solution in order to be effective. You can make your own solution with a cup of water and about a half teaspoon of salt dissolved in the water. The saline is needed to conduct electrical current from the pad/electrode to the skin.
    - IF YOU ARE LEFT HANDED, you may need to reverse the placement of the sponges. By that I mean place them on the opposite side of the brain as shown in the montage chard. About 50% of left handed people have reversed brain structures from right handed people. Therefore, for the treatment to be effective you need to switch the pads and do the reverse of the montage. I found this out the hard way. I used tDCS for treatment of depression and over the course of a couple of weeks I found my depression growing significantly worse. I was disappointed and confused. Then, out of the blue it popped into my mind that my brain might be wired differently because I'm left handed. I must have recalled something that I had read or heard before. After a bit of research I decided to swap the placement of the pads... i.e. if the montage said to put the anode the left prefrontal cortex, I switched it to the right prefrontal cortex, and vice versa. With the very next treatment I saw immediate improvement.

      Richard Rogers Is it a case of trial and error if you are left handed? I always thought that the difference between left and right handed brains was the opposite side of the brain is larger e.g. being left handed means you have a bigger right side in the brain, but I didn’t realise it can be reversed. I am currently trying the montages the way shown in the video hoping I am not one of the 50% left handers

    Brendan, you also want to take vitamins for the brain. I suffered from a chemical imbalance as well and spent years reading reseach papers on the brain to help myself (I was also on medication, which 'caused a psychotic bread). I had to help myself since the doctors I was seeing didn't seem to know what they were doing). I came accross a reseach of vitamins & aging in mice. This article had the vitamin list used in the study. Oddly enough I had most of them in my vitamin statch. I was doing bullet proof coffee with a few vitamins mixed in at the time. I did well, however when I used all the vitamins on the list the difference was night and day. I crushed the vitamins into a powder, mix it with 1/2 cup coffee, Kerry gold butter & a little pure olive oil, blend and drink. I drink this everyday. Since I've been doing this, the synapsis in my brain have been communicating effetively, no depression - I mean I can't really tell you what it's like to be depressed due to neuroplasticity my brain has reconfiguered itself and adapted to being healthy. I'm going to get a tDCS so I can upload info faster (language, Forex trading, ect). Below is the link to the study. Please, please check it out. I want the whole world to know about this because this study was done a few years ago and it still hasn't hit mainstream and I think about all the people who's lives could have been saved. I try to stay update on all researches being done on the brain.

More research can really make this 'device' really popular around the world and people should and I think will be more aware of this. Very few side effects too which is great compared with drugs..

      Yeah it's amazing... There's some slight itching if you use it too much but I mean the benefits trump everything... I would like to make more videos on this when I get the time. The more people with depression that can get their hands on a tDCS device the better. I still feel there's a place for drugs don't get me wrong but for me personally this is revolutionary. I don't think it would be too much to suggest that technology like this can save lives or at the very least give people a better life. But that's just my opinion based on my experience and from what I've read.

      I generally use 1.5mA, sometimes 2mA depending on how long I will use it. I wouldn't suggest you fall asleep while using it as tDCS can cause a slight burn if overused. I personally don't use tDCS for longer than 20 minutes at a time. I'm going to do a new video on this within the next fortnight so make sure you subscribe as there are a few questions I want to answer.

      I know your comment is from two years ago, but perhaps this may still help.
      First, be sure the placement of the pads are correct including the positive and negative wires. Second, are you left handed? If so it is likely you need to put the pads on the opposite side of the head as indicated in the montage. The brain of many, if not most left handed people have the opposite structure of a right handed person. When I first started tDCS my depression became markedly worse. I figured I was doing something wrong, then I tried switching the placement and saw immediate improvements.

    Hey, you still using this? How has things been for you lately? Have this ever helped you with your senses that have been dulled from depression or relief from anhedonia (not being able to experience pleasure) and apathy? Has it helped you connect with other people better due to being able to feel emotions more or helping depression?

    • @KickAnxiety1
      @KickAnxiety1  7 років тому +3

      Hey Zerg,
      Did you leave a comment under the Brendan Morgan backup account? I'll paste much of that answer here because the questions are practically the same and I'll add some to it.
      I've found I bounce back from things faster and feel more motivated. I had a hard time last year when a friend of mine killed himself but I still never fell into a pit. I still feel anger, frustration and a whole range of human emotions, the difference is motivation and a general sense of well-being since using it is. I guess I feel more in control. I've tried everything and it works for me and reading the comments and studies it's working for a lot of people.
      I do connect better with people yes including my girlfriend and family. I feel less distant and less overwhelmed. I can only speak for myself though.
      I just made a video here ua-cam.com/video/cFmNeWYJxGM/v-deo.html that mentions my top 4 depression treatments (I couldn't think of a 5th that worked to round it up). Please go watch that video all the way through and sub to that channel. I state in this video that they are in no particular order but after re-watching it, I'd say they pretty much are. I'd love it if you could share this video if possible as I feel it's really important and after looking at other videos online there's very few that I feel will truly help people.
      Also I learnt to treat the brain like an athlete treats a muscle. I do everything I can to keep it healthy and strong which includes supplementation (that's another video). However I think that's a good philosophy. Once again if you could share this new video on any social media outlet and sub I'd appreciate it. I don't do this for the money (I make none) I do it to help people so they didn't have to go through the 20 year old struggle I did.

    Curious - i am using one as well - can u feel it when operating??

    • @richardrogers2110
      @richardrogers2110 4 роки тому

      You should feel a tingling, or slight sting or pin prick sensation where the sponges contact the skin. Sometimes it feels a bit irritating, but you will quickly grow accustomed to it. Depending on the type of device you have, you can reduce the voltage and that will help. The device I use has settings for 0.5mA (milliamps), 1.0mA 1.5mA and 2.0mA. I normally use it at 2.0mA.
      I can sometimes feel another sensation in my brain. I can't describe it, but it is a pleasant sensation, a slight euphoric feeling and sense of clarity.

    • @BonafidesFromFinland
      @BonafidesFromFinland 4 роки тому

      It seems I can't find anyone with an experience similar to mine. I just got my device yesterday and tried it with 1.0 current. It gave me an extremely weird sensation: I felt unreal and there was strong pressure in my forehead. I quickly stopped the device. That scared me quite a bit but not enough to stop experimenting. I started from the beginning with 0.2 only and today with 0.3.
      It's really weird that I can't find anything similar in the net. I don't know if the problem is in my head or in my device. Maybe it's giving too strong current. Guess I'll never know.

    • @julzee111
      @julzee111 4 роки тому

      BonafidesFromFinland - Hello! Thank u for your reply. The first couple of times, i was a little weirded out by the physical sensation myself - but i really could not say that it made me feel any different emotionally. I have heard some people make claims that it made noticeable difference in their mood. And the science is behind it. Fortunately there is not enough current to do anything that would damage your brain, so that’s comforting LOL. Keep in touch and let me know how you do. One thing I can say that makes an extreme difference is the type of saline solution that you use. The first time I made my own Celine and I think my salt content was too high and that will definitely increase your current. Good luck!
