I was shooting for this job during my enlistment. The job wasn't available at MEPS so I had to do a reno. After another week of waiting and getting the right paperwork done, I got very lucky and was able to land this MOS. I ship out in about 2 months and I can't wait!
This was a very nice and well put together video! Very informative! I added Public Affairs Officer to my list for jobs in the Air Force! I’m willing to wait for some of the ones on my list!
Recently got a 46S reclass slot from infantry as a reenlistment incentive. I leave for DINFOS early next year. It's not impossible to get this as an option, although yes, you will probably have to wait a while for a slot. Looking forward to the new career.
Appreciate the informational video, would you be willing to make one on "What to expect as a U.S. Army Public Affairs Officer" and how to join this career field? Thank you
Hey there. I looked on the Army’s site and didnt see 25V but saw 46V. Is 46V a combat camera specialist? Thats kind of where Im shifting towards if I being an officer isnt in the works
Im looking to enlist as a 25/46V Combat Camera sometime this fall, is there currently demand to get new recruits in the MOS? Or should I also consider other public affairs roles or waiting till my chances are better?
Great video Mike! I'm currently talking to my recruiter about this job but for the reserves. Do you happen to know what this MOS is like as a reservist?
If you’re in the reserves the hierarchy will likely be the same, except you’ll just do the job on that drill weekend, for annual training you’ll usually attach to a unit or go to a training exercise to train
Hello, I enlisted as ARMY Reserve for 92A in May. I cheap out on July 29. I wanted Public Affairs, but to go Active. Unfortunately on my GT I got 97 and Public Affairs is 107 on GT. Do you think later on is easy to retake the ASVAB and try to change my MOS and go active?
Do you have any info on 46V? I cannot find info on this MOS I’ve talked to retention however from what it sounds like it’s almost the same description as 46S
So what branch would Public Affairs fall under? Very confused starting OCS soon and need verification for uniform order. I believe for the Class A uniform I need teal shoulder ranks and sleeve braid?
46R isn’t around anymore, there used to be a 46Q and 46R, Q was a photojournalist and R was a video journalist, now 46S is the merged / combined of the two.
Hey Dusty! Awesome field to enlist into. There's been some recent changes to the curriculum at DINFOS that have changed the course length - have fun in it and let me know if you have questions!

Good luck! Hopefully you love the field as much as I do.
How are you liking it so far? Are you still in tech school?
What’s a reno? Civilian here
I'm going into this y'all. I'll keep you all updated on my progress. I'm 17 now.
I’m interested in joining the army, and I would like to go the Public Affairs Specialist route…I have to say, this video was pretty informative.

Hey man, was wondering if I could message you off-line. I’m CAV and looking to reclass
@@jamesfrancisheffron6512 Absolutely, I just graduated DINFOS. I can tell you about my experience with the reclass process.
So glad you showed that com cam brassard! Praying for the day PAO's are able to have one!
There’s ways commanders can get it apparently, but I agree!!!

I’m considering FA46A as well. Would be helpful.
Excellent video!
This is a great public affairs informational video. I was hoping to find it on DVIDS so we can share it on our unit Facebook page.
Illuminatii Alert at 3:36 ? This is ment sarcasticly who are nottoricly poled like Don Quichote on upwards triangles

Yes, 25 series has merged with 46.

What are the contract term lengths available for this MOS?
How can you reclass?

25V just turned into 46V, search the 25V also known as "combat camera", you probably find more information that way.
Can you still do Public affairs if u are in reserves or guard?
I’m guard ☺️
Does PAO come under signal corps?? (What color braid do officers wear?)
Public Affairs does fall under Signal Corps!
Aren't there also Public affairs officers?
There are! Public Affairs Officers are typically (in the Army) 1LT(P) and above, since it isn’t a branch you can commission directly into.
@@MikeHunnisett ohhh that makes much more sense! I've been searching for the "public affairs branch" for a while now but could never find it.

@@ralencleveland8802 at least on the enlisted side, we fall under AG.
@@MikeHunnisettReally? The Air Force site says Public Affairs Officer is a position?

Does this MOS get deployed?
Pretty much any MOS can get deployed, and yes, this one does too! I’d say your frequency of deployments really depends where you end up.
Yes. I went to Vietnam.
Man is beautiful
I just enlisted in the Utah National Guard for 46s and am going off to basic January 31st, but for me AIT will only be 19 weeks
