    Loved watching this! Keep up the content for this bike! Any reason you don't also do the DHM Piston?

      Thanks! I actually bought the hi comp piston but waiting to see what else comes out. I'm going to get the head ported next week and see what gains I get then figure out what I do for piston/cylinder.

    Hello, again thank you so much so all your well presented and informative vids. I managed to install cooler matched with mnnthbx air cleaner, looks good. I left the lines long and i am now questioning if shorter lines would cool better. Any thoughts? Thx

    I've just ordered this oil cooler from hardracing. I was curious about your on-board temp Guage, are the temperatures provided from the aRacer interface less valid? I'm looking to learn more about what the benefits of that mounted style temp Guage might be.

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  2 роки тому +1

      The aRacer is pulling from the same head temp sensor that the stock ECU leverages so it should be pretty valid. The reading out of the Sport-D will be the same as the reading on the phone through the aRacer app - the benefits of watching temp is that temps over 240F start getting in that danger zone of potential damage so you're able to make adjustments before you do damage. I've destroyed pistons/cylinders before from over temp situations :(

      @@eastcoastish great video, sorry if you’ve answered this already but what’s the temp gauge you’re using? Super interested in doing the same set up. And do I need the Eracer to use the gauge?

      @@eastcoastish thanks for your reply - so this run is on that 143 BBK? I’m looking at 14t, intake, tune, cam only. Guessing 11 whp on such a setup depending on the dyno.

    Curios when installing the Oil cooler, did you have to add extra oil than normal? meaning above the looking glass mark on the crankcase to make up for anything?

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  2 роки тому

      Yes, I filled to just about the top of the looking glass (make sure the bike is perfectly level).

    This is good info you have here on your channel. I've been watching!
    I'm currently building on my 2022 Grom. It is currently sitting at a Full Yosh exhaust, Chimera intake, & CJR cam & tune, with 35psi front, 38psi rear. A small T-Rex windscreen also seemed to help start getting the air in front better organized to get around me in a tuck. That gives me on level ground anywhere from 67 to71 mph depending on which way the breeze is blowing. If there is some traffic around getting the air moving in the right direction and I'm in mid 70's. The conditions were perfect the other day with a slight decline and I got 82mph!
    Question for you about temps. I'm wondering if just before you put the oil cooler on the bike, could you share what you saw for temps going wide open at highway speed for any extended amount of time? I figure I'm still ok with my setup, but figured I'd ask. I understand that temps rise when sitting still or at very low speed. Wondering what they look like at full speed and full load without the oil cooler. Any info/experience you have on this will help! Thanks so much!

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  2 роки тому +1

      Full speed (for a prolonged period of time) without the cooler was seeing up to 220-240F depending on ambient temperature which is too hot in my opinion. I'd also get temps above 220F just with regular riding in stop and go traffic since it really relies on air blowing across the engine fins.

  • @solohatchet
    @solohatchet 2 роки тому +1

    Where do you live/how hot was it that day I live in Oregon and it's gets cold and I'm just worried that it will make the engine to cold

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  2 роки тому +1

      This was in San Diego, CA. Outside air temp was about 65F which is about the coolest weather I'll ride in. They also make a 3 row cooler if you're concerned about temps getting too low. I plan on more engine mods so my temps will likely be headed up.

    I have the 3 row oil cooler.. what oil were you running ? Also my temps are at 249f and at a traffic light it gets up to 270f so is this bad or good ? Like what’s the solution

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  2 роки тому

      Yikes, anything over 240F is way too hot. At 270F, the piston isn’t going to last long. Are you sure you have enough oil? The window should be almost full when the engine is off (and the bike balanced). I’m running Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10-40, although the oil isn’t going to make a big difference. What’s your target AFR? I’d richen it up across the board, and you may want to get an upgraded oil pump.

    • @Modernwomensociety
      @Modernwomensociety 2 роки тому

      Wait so fill the oil up to the second line in the window? Also dhm did my ecu for the 149cc kit. I don’t have any kinda of a racer or anything tho… so maybe that super oil pump would help maybe 🤔

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  2 роки тому +1

      @@Modernwomensociety yeh, the oil cooler takes a lot of oil so you want to fill it up to the top of the window so there’s enough oil in the system when it’s running.

    • @Modernwomensociety

      What are your valves set to? Top and bottom? David said to do .005 top and bottom 🤔 maybe mine needs to be adjusted because that could cause extra heat to if there to tight right 🤔

    • @eastcoastish
      @eastcoastish  2 роки тому +1

      It's a pretty significant difference over stock and for $100 definitely worth it. Comparing it to the full Racing Bros kit, honesty it feels very similar just in a fixed setting of about medium compression and high rebound.
