This is classic! Buck Trent was doing licks that Earl wasn't but Buck was a sideman and never got the coverage Earl did. A lot of good old fashioned talent and fun here. Thanks for the upload there Lester.
What a beautiful gal 'Little Miss Norma Jean ' . Porter Wagoner always puts me in a good mood with his laughter and Speck Rose is something else what a terrific comedian and what a great singer Red Sovine is ....and Porter And and The Wagonmasters Red and Porter wearing the nudie suits very colorful and I looked forward to the Saturday Night show. I'm 74yrs old now and enjoy watching the reruns. A big thankyou to whoever is responsible for doing all the great work for putting it on utube .. Seeing Red Sovine takes me back to 1949-52 era when I was stationed at Barksdale AFB, La. Hank Williams had a show with Johnnie Fair Syrup early each morning over radio station K.W.K.H, Shreveport, La. When he went to the Opry in '48, Red took over that show. This is why he is sometime called the Ole syrup sooper.
You are giving Me some interesting facts about Country music! I was stationed at Barksfale AFB, La in 1972 and then longer . While there I went to see Hank Thompson and
One. Of Porter s older Shows. His Intro Song still Howdy Neighbors Howdy, one of Jimmy Driftwood s very Early Songs. He was still Jimmy Morris at that time. Hardy ever given any credit to Jimmy for this catchy Song.
"Why baby Why" was great but....... Not nearly as good as the version by Lester Roadhog and the Cadillac Cowboys. LOL I especially liked Red's song, "Little Rosa" and his accent. Red's songs always made me cry my eyes out.... With tears of joy.
Excellent! My world was just about perfect in 1962!
Always loved Porter's laughs!!
