I use SOS (steel wool with built in soap) pads with Ajax or comet. I never stay in one spot too long. This is good for removing mildew on paint or even faded. Also great method for cleaning aluminum trim like you have on this truck. It’ll shine like new
I agree not cutting up truck into short bed. That bed is too nice to cut up

I'm glad you're doing this channel. I'm enjoying you, Freiburger, Dirthead Dave, and of course VGG so much. It's nice that you guys can do your own thing without all the producers, etc. that comes with traditional TV shows. Keep up the great work. Of course I still watch MotorTrend TV, but these channels are just refreshingly different.

Hey man. When I get a new lived outside project I always give it a bleach bath first. Bleach kills anything organic on the surface. Jut bleach with a shot of landury soap in a pump up spiayer before the pressure wash. Just wait 15 minutes after coating everything and wash. You will be amazed how much of that rough stuff on the paint washes off. I live in a wetter area but killing what lives on the paint makes cleanup faster. Love that new truck. That one has me hunting up a long bed.

Love the glow-up. I bought a 1988 crew-cab squarebody dually and used S.O.S pads (pre-soaped 0000 wool) and a hose and it got rid of all the spot rust and impurities. Sealed the truck with Zep High Gloss floor polish and it stands proud.
Would be AWESOME to see this camper dropped a bit on good rolling stock!

Pure CLR, I would assume is what they were talking about. We used it, commonly, on stucco that had rust stains and what not. It's very caustic / high vapor so if you ever do try it, do it outside.

I have done this in the past... worked out okay.
Hit the rust areas with brake clean and a hard scrub brush... then rinse. Now, purple stuff with a scotch brite pad on a DA with low air pressure... to run slower than normal.
    That did a great job.
Then satin clear. Bobs your Uncle, job done.

@Luckysgarageshow, I have been party to an install on a Dentside and will be going that route with my own. It takes longer to grind, hammer, cut, swear at, cry at, and forcibly remove the Ford factory rivets that attach everything to the frame rails on the Bumpside and Dentside trucks. When you finally get to bolting on the QA1 parts, it goes really quick and is great quality ride and handling. Helping on the one I did, sold me on doing The QA1 suspension over an old CVPI front end. Ear protection, a good air hammer with the punch bit, and a new grinder disc are strongly recommended as well as cool drinks. Seriously the frame is like a tuning fork when you start hammering on it, and that ringing sound stays with you for hours or days after.

SOS pads do a great job on rust and the soap in it is a great lube and a light buff after with mild compound will make it pop. Did that truck come from somewhere else because I live on the Canadian plains and that truck has a lot more rust than many of those bump side that still roll around here. PS we don't have crazy amounts of salt used on the roads where I live so many other areas in Canada this truck would just be a brown spot and a few pieces of stainless trim.
