John B Sheffield I think he was amazing and would have done wonderful things for the group if Otis didn’t fire him.... he was so talented and had a amazing voice, that was hidden 😞♥️RI Paradise
THE Temptations...David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Otis Williams, and Melvin Franklin...THE Classic Five. I know there have been many other iterations of the original, but just like anything else, the originals set the bar. In this case, it has not nor will it ever be eclipsed. Rest in Peace, all who contributed to the timeless sound, style, and brand that was THE Temptations. 👑🎤🎸🎶👓
Busta - that is true, but damn, this is a spiritual version that is hard to top. This reply is 4 years since your post, and I do hope that you are still in the rain.
Damon Harris was the right man at the right time in the summer of 1971. I was at The LA Fourm Ricky Owens ill Paul Williams no Otis, Dennis and Melvin fighting for their life out there that night. It was truly a Ball of Confusion. It really looked bad for the home team. Damon and Richard saved the group. I always wanted to be a Temp. never got my shot. But Im glad you did Damon. RIP Damon and Richard job well done.
I agree. There is a clip on youtube, where damon talks about how he went on tour with Eddie(before Eddie died). Eddie told him he was the best, and to carry the torch.
@BLAZE: First of all, you look too young to have ever known or seen the Classic Five perform...this performance is very good; Damon Harris KNEW the "Classic Five" sound as a child and teenager. Then he BECAME a Temptation! The acquisition of Dennis Edwards and DAMON HARRIS kept the Temptations from SHUTTING DOWN. Ron Tyson signifies the loss of the "Classic Five" sound. Now the group is run-of-the-mill...I bet you weren't BORN when the 20 year old took Eddie's place...that's why you cannot appreciate this wonderful performance. He was even being treated for cancer during this time...
@BLAZE: Go back to 1960 to 1964 and PICK a Temptations song. Start with Paul Williams (doing lead then) move on to Eddie Kendricks on lead, then the New Years Day 1964 acquisition of David Ruffin...name me a song, if you can! All you feisty "youngins" want to show your wisdom, but there would have been no group for Ron Dyson to come to without Damon Harris and Dennis Edwards.
@BLAZE: Hey Blaze! What is Stevie Wonder"s favorite Temptations song? By the way, he recorded the song and convinced them to do background vocals! What is the name of the song, Blaze?
Ron style doesn't fit the Temptation more of that of the Philly sound,Damon was a way better replacement than him, he's sick at this point of his career
DAMON... You were one of my favorite TEMPs; a very capable replacement for Eddie Kendricks' falsetto on The Temptations. Rest in eternal peace!!
Damon as well as being an amazing vocalist was a Pure Gentleman, thanks for the Joy You brought us Damon, May You Rest in Peace Bro.

It's so sad we lost another great Temptation
Damon Harris killing it at the first part without falsetto wow.
R.I.P. my dear friend. Love you. Miss you already. How ironic is it that time of death was 7:17pm. Your birthday is 7-17!
Everybody wanna be a temp...they sound great. I just can't believe they have so many temps groups out. Temps for life...i guess. Great vid tho.
katisha green Well, Damon Harris was a Temptations member

Thats nice 2 know. Damons voice always sounded the closest 2 Eddie's. Ron Tyson was a close second. Thats it.
Ron sounds nothing close like Eddie
Will miss your talent, hope you'll get together with the other members who have gone before you and form another group in heaven, God Bless your soul
I think Damon Harris was the best replacement for Eddie Kendrick compared to the others. RIP Damon.
jmusic45 I agree

@BLAZE: Not when it means a lot to you...It was Mr. Harris' childhood dream to be a Tempt...and he did it! Sing on my brother, RIP...
Ron Tyson is way better
