Me too, I was one of the few "frogs" present in Trafalgar Square that day. Disappointed at first as a french citizen, as hosting such a huge event must be an amazing experience, but quickly, happy for London, an incredible city in which I lived a few years...and they delivered the best Olympics in history I do agree.../ I remember the next day indeed, terrible, I was stuck on a bus in Elephant & Castle, wondering what was going on...:( / Now, I'm looking forward to the 2024 Olympics at home ;D.

We had the proof that you don't win Olympic Games thanks to a very good project BUT thanks to an agressive lobbying to sell a project. I remember Paris 2012 committee who just refused to do lobbying to respect a certain olympic spirit, when the mayor of London and all the brits were knocking on doors to change IOC preference.
