Scott, the tall blond baritone is a vocal beast and an amazing, prolific song writer! Check him out performing his original, Mars, (the official live choir video version really shows off his vocals and is my favorite, but the official music video version is good, too). It is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard! Then there is Superfruit which is a musical vlog with Scott and Mitch which in fairness is its very own rabbit hole ranging from hilarious music skits, collaborations, original music (from their album Future Friends which is 🔥 every single track) to sublime vocals. Some suggestions are Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 & 2, cover of Katie Perry's Rise, GUY.EXE (an original from Future Friends), Frozen (a hilarious somewhat drunken version of the Disney Movie music), numerous evolution and medleys to include Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Empire and on and on. Then there is Avi Kaplin's (the bass) solo music which is just brilliant. Mitch and Kirstin also have solo stuff worthy of exploring, but I'm gonna stop for now so I don't overwhelm. You mentioned them covering some other artists. I think you would like their evolution videos, where they take an artist, and go through the history of the artist's music. It would be great to see your reaction to Evolution of Michael Jackson, Evolution of Beyonce or Evolution of Rihanna. Not sure if you know this, but the second soloist in this video, Avi Kaplan, their bass singer, was in the group from 2011 until 2017, so videos during those years have him on bass. After he left, they fairly quickly signed another bass, Matt Sallee, who has been with the group ever since. The split was friendly, and Avi has been establishing a solo music career since leaving. That is the only change in their members since they formed in 2011.
For another acapella group, I suggest Citizen Queen, an all female group. Their coves of No Tears Left To cry and Killing me softly, are amazing. Thanks.
Yeah, lots of blocks for Pentatonix, unfortunately. Usually a slight filter screen will fix it. However, no blocks for most of their early "Evolution of . . ." videos. "Evolution of Music" is a good start, but no one will fault you for going straight to "The Evolution of Michael Jackson." 😊 And, of course, Christmas is Pentatonix season. Now as you have found out their record company is stupid when it comes to copyright issues. But most reactors I have heard from (about 25-30 or so) have found they copyright the video more than the audio, so if you will make the video more transparent, or blacked out and place some text over it (your name, Pentatonix, “covered with text for copyright”, a logo just anything, and then pause now and then to talk, it will help to keep from getting blocked. With their label and YT nothing is guaranteed, but from what the other reactors have said, this things create an 80%-90% improvement, at least you meet all the written rules, unless the reviewer is having a bad day. If blocked always appeal, it will be released more than not. Usually anyway.
