Ah I have been gone from Paisley for so long, this was wonderful to see, you know there is a story about the Cenotaph if you look at the metal plate it was actually a door to escape from , cant remember where it led inside but you might be able to find out more one day. xxxxx Dede
My Mom was born in Paisley in 1920. Came to the states with her family in 1923. My great grandad (Moms maternal grandfather) owned a restaurant on Old Sneddon St. My relatives family names in Paisley that I can remember are Muir, Stark and Johnstone.
Looks really nice TBH, I was at the game when St Mirren won the Scottish cup on my Birthday 16th May, think it was about 1987? ...As a Middlebrough fan I was gifted a ticket by my brother-in-law. Crap game but brilliant night!!!. My nephew was pretty well known around Paisley (Alan McKim) & had some fantastic nights at some of his gigs, mainly at the Bungalow a few years back. Also got to say, The black pudding & the Haggis supper in Paisley are incredible!!!
I remember the Pendulum as Cochran's and I can't believe how busy New St is. It's about 3 or 4 years since I was in Paisley, but I am a Buddie but have been away for 60 years, so I'm getting on a bit. I enjoyed the video.
"THe old Arott's"---you mean Cochrane's! When I was wee, the Paisley Christmas light were the ones which had been in Rothesay in the summer! Anyone remember the juggling giraffe? For the bar called "Barga", that is the placein Italy where most of the Paisley 'and West Coast Italians came from.
The Christmas lights in Paisley look really nice, the lane with the murals is fantastic I’m surprised you haven’t got a banksy there , you showed the murals once before and I’m glad you showed them again, love the lane Kevin thank you
Wow Kevin. Paisley looks a lovely place and the Christmas lights are really adding to the views. The Abbey looks a lovely building. The picture on your phone is really good. Had to laugh at you comment about your football team
Kevin, the graphite of Billy Connolly and Gerry Rafferty there band was called the Humble Bums 😁😁 Love your walks. I'm waiting for all the travel restrictions to stop so I can come from a visit to see my family in Greenock. Keep your vlogs coming.
Great video and the town looks way better under the lights. I left Paisley 27 years ago and it's sad to see the decline of what was once a thriving town centre. They should flatten the Piazza and reopen the High St and Gilmour St to traffic. Castlevecci was the best chippy in town, loved their deep fried pizzas and fish suppers.
Paulo Nutini on wall, Piazza shopping centre, i know there's plans to demolish parts of it but they want to demolish the lot, get the river open, some bars and restaurants along it.
Loving this left Paisley over 40 yrs ago an lots has changed brilliant
I remember
Lived in Paisley for 3 great years due to work - loved it and miss it still

Humblebums
One of Scotland’s gems. Just needs a bit of investment and TLC. It’s a crime it wasn’t voted as a City.
'Mon the Paisley!! Anchor Bar/Wee Howf/Harvey's still on the go?
