Vicky Road has changed quite a bit since I was along there Kevin. "Taggart " actor Mark McManus used to drink in the Queen's Park Cafe when he had a flat round the corner in Queen's Drive overlooking the park. There was a great shop called Pearson's Store just down from the pub, it had all sorts of stuff like an ironmonger and much more including a live parrot called Peter. I love a bit of Glasgow nostalgia.

Paisley can be very nice at the begginning,but it can get so boring as its now a ghost town shops are closing down and less people walk there,nice to see the paisley abbey but nothing much more to see.😢

I was born in paisley,but i left cos i felt very lonely and had no friends,and i was sick of the cold weather and apart from that i had to return back quickly as my dad was dying😢

I lived there for four years and i was fed up ,so i went back home permanently to spain with my family came to paisley in 2019 and left on the 26/10/24 😊

Spent a few summer holidays there about 30 years ago . Believe me it has not changed much . Very happy memories of a lovely part of the world.

How to destroy a town? Some simple steps....destroy the flow of traffic and build two huge Shopping Malls minutes drive away. I have watched from afar as its turned into a disgrace. Embarrassing to fly into Glasgow Airport and then bring friends from abroad through Paisley.

I remember the town center when I was a kid in the early 90s. It was hoaching with people . On the Saturday it was like trying to move through a football crowd on the High Street. Amazing atmosphere. The town started dying in the 90s after pedestrianization and Braehead shopping center opened and just kept getting hit by new problems like online shopping and lack of investment. It's basically a ghost town now compared to back in the day. It's a big shame.

I grew up in Elgin. Even went to Elgin High school. But the Elgin in Illinois/US that's a suburb of Chicago. According to our history, the founder was from Scotland and named the city after his favorite hymn. But we pronounce the g as a light G as in gin. Not the hard G you guys pronounce yours with. We always laughed at out of towners who pronounced it with the hard G.

Also, you can film in there, fatty on a power trip. They are filming you on cctv the second you walk in, open to the public so you can film.

That stall is still there 😂 as an Inverness man i can tell you its a shit hole and not worth visiting, completely dead in the town centre.
