I would add SWA is one of the safest airline in the world--one factor for this is that SWA has 1 type fleet that keeps maintenance costs low and greatly reduces maintenance complexities other major airlines are challenged with.
I've always thought the same too.
What is the safest
@@chess18892 ryanair
Same with Allegiant with their A320 fleet. However they're adding 737s for the next coming years.
@@chess18892Qantas ,off course !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
It's extremely difficult to pick out something Southwest is bad at. Every single time I've flown Southwest, I've departed on time and arrived early, have had some of the best staff interactions ever, and have always had a pleasant experience. It's really difficult to get all three of those anywhere else. That's LUV.
I flew AA out of Charlotte because it always felt like there wasn't much option because of time savings and availability. After the pandemic started and my first experience in March of 2020 the move to everything online Southwest became a real hit for me. Not just in price but in the fact that if you aren't in a rush they are almost always cheaper the bags and just overall friendly crews.
I am so glad you uploaded this video. I myself mostly fly on Southwest Airlines for the reasons you mentioned. I actually discovered this channel with your Southwest Airlines videos, and I am so glad I discovered this channel. Your videos are well-edited and inspirational. Keep it up.
Totally agree with your Top 10! I'll be flying SWA for the first time later this month. Been planning this trip for months and now it's so close. Super stoked!
I just flew southwest across the country SFO-BOS with a stop in MDW and it was a good expereince. I wish they had in-seat power, but they have really good free entertainment. Also, the seats are pretty comfortable. I also always fly them when I am moving because of the 2 free bags!
I flew on Southwest airlines last October from Oregon to California. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was nice and I loved how I could sit anywhere and it wasn't assigned seating. Even though it wasn't a long flight, it was still great experience
I agree with everything you mentioned! I'm flying Southwest for the first time next week, super excited!
Taking my first flight with them March 22nd
I have flown southwest 15 times, and how was the experience?
@@friendmelll1933 It was awesome! They brought back their snack/beverage service, I had great crews on both of my flights down to Florida. I’m headed back home tomorrow. Their 737-800’s with their new interior is comfortable and has amazing legroom
@@alantheaviator Good, this is why Southwest is the best airline.
That's cool I'm flying out on the 1st of April with Southwest
I'm Platinum Medallion with Delta, but Southwest is still my #2 airline. When you don't have loyalty or credit cards with any airlines, you're pretty much stuck towards the back of the boarding group and paying extra for bags unless you pay up. But that's the nice thing with Southwest; it can be a little frustrating if you're not used to their boarding/check-in process, but if you know what you're doing you can snag A/B boarding and save a lot of money.
Southwest embodies a practice of "don't promise much, but deliver on those few promises." I will say that their point-to-point model has sort of reverted to a pseudo-hub-and-spoke model over the last few years though, but it does help that they have a lot of focus cities so the layover options can be plentiful (compared to DL, AA, and UA where you might only have a handful of layover city options).
I flew them from Florida to Texas and back, they were amazing. They also let me on the ramp and in the cockpit for my 14th birthday so I could see the planes.. love them, and JetBlue❤️💛💙
I totally love that I could find a great review of SW airlines, it will be our family first timers with them, and after I booked our flights I realized wait did I choose the 6 seats 💺 so yeah, I didn’t know about open seating so we will get there early so everything is smooth! Thanks for sharing a great video review 😃👏✈️👍🏼
Yup! Totally agree with you. Another great vid…..as usual!!
I found it to be a great idea explaining 10 reasons why southwest is a good airline, and yes I agree as well. It’s been a long time since I flew on it but I want to give it another try one day. I was actually at Chicago Midway earlier today on a train and a bus and that was it because of the right destination I wanted to get to which wasn’t too far at all.
Thank you for this video I’ve always been a JetBlue and American Airline fanatic and for the first time I will be traveling southwest I’m so excited
Totally agree with your Top 10! I'll be flying SWA for the first time later this month. Super stoked!
I flew southwest for the first time in July last year, and wow was I blown away. Even though the boarding process was a little hard to get used to, everything else was amazing. Definitely agreed with everything in this video!!
Yah felt the same way when I first started flying them but it grows on ya as time goes on haha
SPOT ON!!! I agree with every point you made. The seats might not have IFE...but I love their App way better than any other and the seats are way more comfortable than the other legacy carriers. Love this video
I love Southwest airlines as well!!! Flown on it a bunch of times in a span of 7 years
when we fly across the us, it’s always southwest i love it. my aunt is a flight attendant for them. we love it
I love Southwest!!! I used to love Frontier Airlines before they went ultra low cost. When I was younger, a flight attendant served me at least 4 hot chocolates on a single flight, which was absolutely amazing. Along with the free checked bags, and carry on is absolutely awesome. Though I believe that a smaller airline may have a better snack and drink offering. It’s called DAC, you may have flown it when you did that Metro flight, but they also have DO328 jets that serve likes of Telluride
Great video, Chris! Me and my family LUV Southwest Airlines!
Southwest should be applauded for giving good value and giving the customer total autonomy to make their own travel decisions. "As you like it" Shakespearean Philosophy. Keep making great content.
You missed one reason, Southwest’s special liveries!! 😁 I think Southwest has some of the best special liveries out there and they’re so iconic! Great video!
I absolutely LUV Southwest! I’ve always had amazing experiences with them! Even through a pandemic they have continued to show the Southwest hospitality, and ever since 1967 they have proven to be one of Americas most successful airlines 💙❤️💛 Awesome trip report BTW!
sounds like Southwest has good management for sure.. as always great video..
Absolutely amazing video Chris!😸
Hey Life's Ups and Downs!
I’m flying with Southwest to Florida on Saturday and I’m super excited! Been flying with Southwest for years and they’ve always been great, best airline in my opinion.
I’m flying for the first time to Orlando Florida in September this year…. And was thinking which airline should I choose to go with… and I’m thinking southwest… hopefully I’m making a good choice.. also how can you board the plane first and choose your own seats
I love how southwest hubs try to focus on smaller cities so if you are connecting it is easier and also reviving airports that probably wouldnt exist anymore because of southwest is amazing. Like st. louis and nashville. They also connect in a lot of just regular airports that southwest doesn't have a focus city at all on.
Southwest sucks
I completely agree with your assessment.
I can't wait to see what the new PIT will look like after renovations are completed
11th reason- the small things, like how on there napkins they had quotes or like puzzles, on their catering trucks they have different sayings like “the snacks are on me”. Going back to the napkins before covid they had a crossword puzzle on it and a quote that I loved “in a world full on no we are a plane full of yes”. Another thing is with the snacks, omg those things are so good I could eat those all day. I just miss the pretzels also, on that pretzel bag it said “just because we like you” to sum it up this Arline is amazing! And no other airline in the world will beat it.
I LUV Southwest. Great video .
The flight is always joyful with the Cabin Crew
The last one you said makes a huge difference !! A very good video !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
Chris, my favorite airline is Southwest Airlines! What a great video presentation! Keep up the good work!
Must be willing to visit Nashville then
I’m flying on 10 Southwest flights this spring and summer on both the 737-700 and 737-800. This airline seems incredible and I truly can’t wait to start flying on them, in fact, I might fly for them one day haha.
Thanks for doing this video. I have never flown SW.. I think I will have too!
Nice video. Like you I'm a fan of SWA. We've been able to travel the US and Caribbean basically free using the Chase SW Visa with the easy to achieve companion pass. Headed to Miami in a few weeks then drive the Keys to Key West. Thanks for the VLOG.
I took two trips out of Long Beach on Southwest. Last August to Dallas and this past weekend to Phoenix. I like that it’s only device entertainment so I can put on Netflix on my laptop. I can enjoy the flight with little worries of what other passengers are watching. And it has less turbines
And this is why I love UA-cam so much because of videos like this 😊. I look at reviews for literally everything 😂. I don't care much for flying and I not only want the best but I need to be super prepared no matter what my choice is. Ironically I actually live in the Burgh so being able to see my airport is also great 😀.
four to five non stops to Vegas from BWI daily, what's not to love? The only airline I will fly!!
I agree, Luv flying Southwest. I used to fly before the Wright Amendment was cancelled, so it was nice stopping in Albuquerque or Lubbock and getting a free extra beer when you did the one stop. But yes, the pilots, flight attendants and airport staff make the difference. I am in Phoenix now and fly Southwest often. I had to fly to Charlotte and my company booked me on A/A. OMG, it made me realize how special SWA is. Come on, does it hurt to smile and be friendly? Have not tried the flights to Hawaii, that will be my next venture. Just remember Herb, the napkin and Dallas/Houston/San Antonio started this great airline.
The only airline I fly .
I’m
Just glad to see Southwest Airlines back in the Jackson market again after being gone for a few yrs
I’ll be connecting flight thru Houston hobby airport both ways going and coming
I love Southwest. I have mobility issues and I use a Transformer scooter. I was assured things would go well. They were correct. I was pleasantly surprised I was able to get the first seat. I walked on board with my crutches. The bathroom was close and I did not have to walk close to anyone. There were two well behaved dogs on the plane who were quieter that the good baby on the flight. As he stated the people who works with them are great! I remember in the 80's flying Southwest on New Years Eve Celebrating every time zone with EVERYONE! Fun!
Did u ask for preboarding due to your disability? If so how did the process go? Thanks.
Southwest employees are such a wonderful group of people❤
We love Southwest. The points are valuable, they treat their staff and customers right, and they have great sales throughout the year. My only complaint is that if you are going long distance, you often have a connection. More non stop flights would be amazing.
Every time you upload I get so hyped, thanks for making my day
Southwest is definitely my fav!
I will be flying for the very first time tomorrow, it's good to see most of the comments are positive. I have never even been in an airport let alone on a plane so trying to get everything figured out now. Been watching videos for 30 mins and it seems like the general consensus is that southwest is pretty good.
I would like to fly SW someday. I hope they start flying to Alaska one day.
Southwest Airlines has a special place in my heart.
I love Southwest Airlines flew with them for the first time 11 years ago from Harlingen Tx to Orlando Florida
When I’m in the airport I like to look at them because it’s cool when I’m inside the airport I like to get them from inside the airport to outside
Sky is so smart and I've why Southwest that's my childhood airline
same
Never flown with Southwest, but I would like to someday. Good video.
yknow there was another airline just like southwest, PSA, all around amazing airline, always seeing those smiles on those planes
did southwest for all 3 flights of my last vacation and its the only time i ever got to fly at the front of the plane every single time. if your flying by yourself go southwest even if you get a boarding group like B there might be a good possibility you can get a seat in the front
FYI, you can purchase early bird special that bumps you into the A boarding. SWA is ranked number 2.
This long time Southwest employee thanks you for all the nice words. Anyone who doesn't agree, come back and try us again.
I’ve been flying Southwest my whole life…literally. When I was able to purchase my own flights, SW was where I started. Only for international flights can I not fly the friendly skys with them.
My favorite airline especially when it comes to its livery’s
Leg room ftw!!! They really should market that!
Southwest is just my favorite and best airline
It’s my preferred airline BY FAR, I’ve never have any problems with them and they provide quality service at friendly prices 👍🏾
Can't wait to fly SWA for the first time ever in about a month from now!!
I am taking SWA to Charleston,SC the end of March. I am booking Business Class
I love Southwest Airlines. Friendly crew and good prices. It even great the there hubs.
The comedy is pure entertainment. ALL Flights for me, have been smooth with no turbulence. ENDLESS snacks and beverages.
My first flight on Southwest Iam 💯 all in ❤
I’m about to take my very first flight trip and I choose this airline because of how affordable and policy about free carry on. My question is, what’s the limit on carry ons ? I know checked bags are 50 pounds but is there a weight limit on carry ons ?
I can not wait to fly with Southwest Airline for the first time with my daughter in 2 weeks to Florida Nonstop Flight ! Thank you for such great information I am so happy I booked through Southwest Airline! I regretted that I flew with Delta, American, United Spirit and Frontier.
The worst United , Spirit, Frontier so there they are quick to take your money yet treat me like I or my time don't matter canceled flights and poor customer services it was so sad.
I am so happy I found your channel great info ON Southwest Airline! 👍
Here’s something you should know about Southwest too. if you are late to one of your flights, they give you a free upgrade sometimes. because when you are late to a flight for example, my 4 AM back to Las Vegas flight if you miss they give you a free upgrade to business so my family got A4- a8
Southwest is by far one of the best airlines. I always fly them. I wish they would purchase new planes for their fleets, like 787s or the new airbuses. It would be cool to see what they could do to a bigger plane.
The interior Chris was on was the older Boeing 737-800 interiors which legroom is better than the Boeing 737-700s but not as good as the newer Boeing 737-800s
Hey Man,
I flew SW Out west to See my Grandparents and I gotta say was an awesome flight , Though maybe it’s just cause where I live but , I don’t care for Lay - Overs unless it’s really needed ,
I love the straight through flights , SW has way to many stops that are out Of my Way
Delta being the biggest where I live I fly them more often, More Non-Stop options !
I love Southwest Airlines
My favorite airline of All Time
Also Southwest brought back the Omaha to Los Angeles (LAX) route as well as added Atlanta and Tampa with the destination list
I love SouthWest airlines. So flexible in changing flights. And TWO FREE checked bags!!!!!!!! Try flying with 8 people and paying that round trip. Nice leg room. The only one for domestic flights. Love them.
I bought a ticket for 2 passengers, is it 2 free bags for BOTH passengers? Or would our bags be considered together?
How’s the baggage policy in Pittsburgh?
Like they want exact weight limit ?
As a Yelp Elite Reviewer I liked your review very well done have you taken flights to San Diego Calif San Diego International is one of the busiest Southwest Terminals. You do have free wifi over 20,000 ft strictly no alcohol with many airlines have had problems .
I never flown on southwest but I definitely know it's better than Spirit or Frontier
I agree with all of your 10 things
Love SW. Always on time, they usually get us in early, one-time our baggage didn't make our connection and they brought it to us just as they promised at midnight, hours away from the airport. The one problem with Southwest -- they don't have reciprocal airlines so if your flight is cancelled for whether or something, they can't just put you on a Delta or another airline. They will just try to find another Southwest flight. I like SW.
I love southwest!
Jazzguy, I'm with you... I LUV Southwest! They're my "go to" airline out of Omaha. They just do flying right for the monies paid!
Totally agreed!
I know this is an older video, but just a couple of quibbles:
1. While Southwest is a low cost carrier, IMO that refers more to their operations than their fare strategy. Southwest seems to see their price competition closer to the 3 full-service legacies than the ultra low cost carriers, and as such Southwest offers services and on-board amenities that try to cater to that more demanding audience. (Same with JetBlue and Alaska - yes, they're not a legacy carrier, but they're appealing more to that higher-end market versus the ULCC's "lowest airfare and unbundle absolutely everything we can" mode.)
2. As someone based out of MSP, Southwest is the most frustrating of the 4 major carriers to try to fly with. At least in the markets I fly to, they combine the worst aspects of the hub and spoke model (limited destinations, at least one and maybe two layovers) and the worst of the "direct flight" model (risk of cascading delays, no banking at transfer points for nicely timed layovers, only a couple flights a day to most destinations.) There's a decent number of flights to MDW and DEN, but then only a handful of other cities that Southwest flies to direct once or twice a day, and everything else requires a transfer that's usually awkwardly timed. On UA and AA there's at least usually a decent number of flights to 3-4 of their hubs out of MSP, and their hubs are banked so that there's usually multiple options where the layover is only an hour or so.
There are times where Southwest makes sense, but at least in my market it's hard to really use them as my main airline even when comparing to airlines other than DL or SY.
Well,I'm biased..my nephew is a SW pilot! But,I've always loved Southwest!❤️
I will also add that their crews are talented as well I’ve seen UA-cam videos of them as well as tiktok
As a frequent flier on SW, everything you say is true. The only negative is people who buy early bird seating, get a good seat/row, then put things on adjacent seats to save those seats for companions who wouldn’t buy early boarding. Now passengers are starting to tell them it doesn’t work that way & have them move their stuff.
Yeah there shouldn't be seat saving
I see, they pay their early bird fee so their party won't have to. It's an each way fee as well but seat saving is a dick move in this scenario.
Does SW have movies on the seats?
I love SW Arlines because it is hassle-free and I never have to whip out my debit card to pay for other things upon check-in. The all-inclusive is a must for me.
Wait, so Delta, United and Jet blue does not offer two free checked bags?
The man speaks facts.
I have no real problem with SWA, except the boarding process is often chaotic at their focus cities, usually because they have so many flights departing at the same time. And, they REALLY need to install power outlets for personal devices on the planes.
They're adding power outlets now!
I would LUV if Southwest came back to Newark, specifically in the new Terminal A that at this point has an unknown opening date.
Flew southwest from Oakland to phx to Cleveland and back and I loved it although I wish they would get bigger planes
I flew out of Long Beach to Phoenix this past weekend
Better than TUI (boeing 787). Limited leg and seat felt like I am sitting on concrete. For a plane that does long long haul flights, one of the most uncomfortable 9hrs of my life😖. But on the upside their customer service, Onboard entertainment and food provided was absolutely marvelous.🥰
I love Southwest Airlines!!! ❤
