- In this video, Ricky Molina reviews all the chords to the Dire Straits song "Your Latest Trick." It's one of the most beautiful songs written by Mark Knopfler, in Ricky's opinion. It's a jazz number with famous trumpet and sax solos. The chords are tricky, but doable as Ricky walks you through them one step at a time.
The song "Your Latest Trick" is off of the Brothers in Arms album released by Dire Straits in 1985.

Here's a link for an Eastman guitar that's quite similar to the one played in the video: amzn.to/3U1NFgP It's the Eastman AR580CE-HB Archtop Guitar with hard case, which I also have played and recommend.

Amazing. Thank you
You're welcome!
Had this as an ear-worm best part of a weak, same four lines way out of sequence, driving me crazy. Tried to get rid of it by singing khe sahn by cold chisel. Usually that works but not in this case. Decided I would have to learn the whole thing so that I can complete the song and finish it. Gonna take some work by the look of it, but this tutorial makes it easier. Thanks Rick. g.

beautifull guitar , greetings from Argentina
Hi Ricky. try an AmM13 after the G#7 played (low E to high) X04554 instead of the straight G#7. Also on the 'holding chord' D9 put a G# note on the top of it making it a D9#11.
OK, cool, gotta try that!
Got it
love it ! thanks
Hi Ricky, Beautiful description of this great song intro by MK!! Question: At 6:13 of the the video you play a chord that follows the G# Aug. You labelled it Cm(Maj7)/Gb. To me it says "C minor Major 7th with a Gb bass. On the G-string, you're on the 5th fret, with the D and the B string on the 4th fret. The G string note is colored blue. I can't hear that note being played in the chord (maybe it's just my 70-year old ears!). So 2 Q's: why is the note colored BLUE and is the bass note on the D string? Thanks and keep up the great work!!!
🤗👍Merci
de rien!

There are also Guitarparts in the Trumpetsolo! How are these cords?
Awsome!! Thank you can we convert humming Part to chords ?

No easier way to play this song ?
Other than getting your local Knopfler guitar nut to play it for you, I'm afraid not!
Sorry!
Yankee accent
yeah, still working on my Glasgow drawl!
just play the song man, you can't understand anything by chopping it up, play the song and show the chords...
That's how we learn by stopping and starting and putting all the pieces together..You must be a professional player to see it played once and remember it all..especially this Knopfler masterpiece..Great relaxed easy to follow lesson..but not so easy to master..
That guitar does not have an "ebony neck".
Sorry...I think it's rosewood....my bad.
Bloody frog's...they turned it into folk fest bonfire bananzza...well ..say no more ..u even put chord Tab's and explaining the synth..well .
Yeah I got inspired.
His not a virtuoso
Cut the crap.
Bla bla bla just play man. Ridiculous these amateur on net
I'm sorry that this video did not meet your expectations. FYI, for every 1 comment I get like yours I get 20 thanking me for helping them out in learning a song or appreciating the work that I do.
