- Live emergency briefing on Hurricane Beryl making a beeline for Texas with landfall early Monday expected between Corpus Christi and Matagorda. We expect a category 1-2 hurricane at landfall, but there is the chance Beryl could intensify into a major hurricane leading up to landfall. Life-threatening flooding and a #tornado outbreak are also anticipated with #Beryl. We will be streaming live during the intercept of this dangerous hurricane.

As hurricanes come up to the Texas coast the warm waters juice up the storm.
We could use a good soaking in the Texas hill country. Canyon Lake is at 56% of capacity. Guadalupe River is just rocks in some places. But it looks like it might miss us.
The local news media reports in TX are only mentioning coastal flooding and wind gust but nothing about tornado or inland floods. I listen to Reed first.
First of the outer bands hitting north Houston now. Heavy heavy rain for a solid hour. Looks like an exciting start of things to come. I wonder how large this gets?

and the water temps are higher closer to the coast - that will give it some energy also

You sound like me with my dogs. My daughter says I'm always talking about the dogs using the bathroom. I'll come in and be like," ShowTime did a healthy one and Delta wouldn't go." She says I give updates on the dogs use of the bathroom. I try to tell her it's a big deal, because we live in an apartment. It's not like they have a yard to go in. Gizmos gonna be in the vehicle for a while, so ya wanna make sure he's good to go.
Here in Lavaca county they already warned us in alerts about us being under a declaration of disaster approved by Abbott.

Was supposed to go to Port A this weekend on a 4-day weekend mini vacation…. Not anymore I’m not…
ANY pressure reading below 1000 is cause for major concern. Back in 1962, when I was 15. my hometown of Seattle was hit by a huge, freaky "Cyclone", that registered 956 pressure, as it raced up the NW Coast, dwindling down in British Columbia. By today's standards, it was a Cat 3 when hitting Oregon, and slowly winding down to a Cat 2, when it entered Puget Sound. Oregon had gusts of over 130mph, and Seattle had a few 100+mph...I will never forget that brutal storm.....local experts have said that such "Cyclones" only hit the West Coast every 100-200 years. In a weird way, I was fortunate to have experienced such a unique, local weather event.

I lived in Katy, tx during Harvey. Never seen anything like it and I have been through several of these monsters. EVERYTHING FLOODED. During Ike I was in Baytown- ground zero. Terrible, but at least it didn't hang around. We Do NOT WANT ANOTHER HARVEY!!!! These storms always bring tornadoes too which are impossible to see coming during the height of a hurricane. Praying for all our neighbors along the southeast coast and inland.

The outer edges of the Hurricane should be reaching Houston now. The eye is still in the Gulf😢
I also think it will land further north than expected. The weak high to the east over Florida seems to be weakening which will steer the storm Northwards. At least my best guess lol. I got no skin in the game here in CT
It moving along through Texas should prevent a Harvey scenario at least
