  • This is the track 'Dust My Blues' from the Secret Records live DVD release 'The Blues Band: Steppin' Out On Main'. Check out our channel for the rest of this DVD and some of our other releases that we have uploaded.
The Blues Band is a British blues band formed in 1979 by Paul Jones, former lead vocalist and harmonica player with Manfred Mann, and vocalist/slide guitarist Dave Kelly, who had previously played with the John Dummer Blues Band, Howlin' Wolf and John Lee Hooker. The band's first line-up also included bassist Gary Fletcher, guitarist Tom McGuinness (also of Manfred Mann) and drummer Hughie Flint, (the two had previously formed McGuinness Flint). In 1982 Flint left and was replaced by former Family drummer Rob Townsend.

The Blues Band have to be one of the very best R&B bands not just in the UK but across the globe. Their playing and singing is very uplifting. Really good music played just as is should be. Think I will download this album right now! Worth every penny.

Both titles and lyrics also has been used..Originally it was Dust My Broom, but Elmore did also Dust my Blues version in 1955. And many british bluesartists after him in 60´s.

ken barr Well the name of this Blues Band track is Dust My Blues, same on the track-list of the album it's taken from - taken from the famous Elmore James great slide guitar version Dust My Blues that it's based on: ua-cam.com/video/SaSEcg_dQWc/v-deo.html , amongst many other versions also called Dust My Blues. Basically the slide guitar versions of the song uses Blues, instead of Broom which are the traditional versions :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dust_My_Broom#Derivatives_and_.22Dust_My_Blues.22

He's singing, "Dust My Broom".... a Robert Johnson tune. Well done, though.

It is not bad, but it is just typical blues. While sided with Manfred Mann, Paul Jones played in much higher league. Manfred Mann with Paul Jones were outstanding they could catch you be surprise with extraordinary ideas. This is lacking here.
