Here’s my theory why the Cipsneed shows up here, So basically he’s a life sized puppet that is used to lure kids into the unknown person basement & it makes luring kids into the basement more efficiently & easier. It also might be a costume too so he could look more friendly to kids so that won’t be scare of him when he goes lure the kids.

I thought what it was implying was that the man seen at the end cut off the boy's feet elsewhere, maybe even just in another part of the room, either to mean he could never escape or just as part of some awful sadistic torture, and then dumped the feet on the floor when he took the boy off somewhere else. This really disturbed me because it made me imagine that someone has almost certainly done that to a child at some point in time.

The narrorator actually sounds like a narrorator of some old english kids tv show and the narrorator doesnt change when the climax is met. The clipsneed also gives off a slightly eerie vibe to me, I don't know why. Maybe it's the long mouth and long fingers but I don't know.

It should be noted: The Kid and the Camera actually takes a lot of inspiration from a supposedly real Missing 411 case.
I forget the exact year. Sometime in the mid 1800s, a young kid went camping with his family. They went off on their own to play in the river near their camp site (It should be noted, bodies of water are often associated with Missing 411). While they were playing in the water, they saw a man approaching. He talked with the kid and ultimately, invited them back to his house. In the end, the kid decided to go to the mans house, though very unsure about it until he saw one of his family members there. They all talked and had dinner and the kid wound up sleeping unintentionally, before going back to the campground.
When he told the man that he was going back, the guy decided that he would accompany the kid part of the way, because it was supposedly dangerous. On the way, they took a path that the kid did not recognize from traveling to the house. They passed through an apple orchard. They did not go through an orchard when coming up to the house before. Only when leaving. But he didn't have the chance to ask about this. The man left as soon as they left the orchard. When the kid found the river he had been playing in, he looked back at the orchard he just left. It was gone. He turned back around and saw his family running over to him.
It turns out that the kid had been missing for three days. Many search parties went out to look for him. He told them the story. No one knew of a house in the area. And the family member that was there at the house? He had never left the family. Whoever it was at the house, it was no one associated with the kid or his family.

I don’t really think that PSA Analog horror are overrated now, maybe overdone in resent months by upcoming new channels in the Analog genre. The rise of analog horror began with the classic PSA format. So now the hard part is being unique. Like *the Kid and the Camera* I’m pretty surprised nobody hasn’t really done a children’s cartoon analog, or take *Monument Mythos* as an example of a semi documentary like horror.

Analog Horror is something that anyone can do, but not everyone can do well. Some new favorites of mine are Welcome Home and Terminal 00, and they rely on websites and the act of exploring these websites as part of their act. Welcome Home is portrayed as a fan revival and archival project for an old but very beloved children's program, and has such a professional presentation that it's hard not to at least be impressed with the attention to details. A guest book with a handful of planted submissions and dozens of real ones, and even some drawings that are filenamed as answers to these guest book submissions. Exploring the website, you'll find a multi context link code, very hidden hyperlinks, overlapping and white-washed text hiding in plain sight, it's a wonderfully presented site that, if you weren't aware of it being a complete reversal of the usual mascot horror crap, where the product and its setting are genuine quality, you'd think it was a real site run by real fans of a show you just never heard of.
Terminal 00 uses a neocities format to provide an audio visual experience while exploring a noise ridden webscape of geometric lifeforms, occult blasphemous, and far future technologies only ever suggested to in stories like Blame!/Biomecha and Seriel Experiments Lain. War, genocide, and corruption, abstractions and organizations on a front not only digital, but incomprehensible by its nature. It's such a unique story, and it is is bled into the authors book.

If you look at the Cipsneed you can tell it’s some sort of butterfly, so I’m just going to call it the butterfly. The butterfly looks very weird in the slideshow. It’s eyes look like it’s missing eyeballs. Maybe it’s like some sort of William afton situation, The missing eyeballs is for visibility, like those plastic masks at Halloween stores, there is a person in that outfit almost certainly. The kid doesn’t recognize the Cipsneed so it’s probably not a mascot of anything, so it’s either a made up mascot thingy that the kidnapper made or maybe a book character.

Due to the hardware limitation, it can only show so much, leaving the rest up to your imagination. And the scariest monsters out there are the ones we create in out own heads. That’s what analog horror does! If your not scared of it that’s fine, but I just wanted to tell you this, and even if you don’t enjoy analog horror, you can at least appreciate it (if you’d like) for what it is. Despite how oversaturated the genre is nowadays, there’s still many great ones out there that deserve your attention, just like in cinema. Great choice gives similar vibes to Adult Swim's "Unedited Footage Of A Bear"; same style/ format, similar messaging, sam/similar overall feeling.
Howvere, they differ ever so slightly from eachother. Undedited footage of a bear is about drug addiction, more specifiaclly allergy medication addiction. Great Choice is about alcoholism and the addiction and dependency that alcoholics face. Where they differ is the fact that the woman in Great Choice breaks free and goes to rehab/ Alcoholics Anonymous, the woman in Unedited footage of a bear stuggles and ultimately fails to break free.

simple, no dumb scares, doesnt rely on old vhs stuff to be creepy.
Feels like something that could happen, getting lost and having your navigation system leading you to your demise.
The “destination” is now behind you and its faster than you can drive away from.
Still gives me a weird feeling in my stomach.

Lacey's Wardrobe is really good, I would say even better than doors or great choice, I think great choice kinda gets to a point where it isn't analog horror anymore.
Lacey stuck with me for days though, it's similar to boy and the camera, just a lot longer and also a lot more grotesque and unnerving, but it still uses something innocent to tell the story of real events, and things that can happen to anyone

I thought the cipsneed was a metaphor for childhood innocence. What let the kid get taken and what let the man kill him is the cipsneed, childhood innocence, being too trusting to other people they don’t know. This and how he was promised something could make the cipsneed not a good person but not a bad one either, if he is a metaphor for child innocence, then he didn’t know what he was doing.

Yeah I’m kinda convinced the reason he thinks about analog horror the way he does is cause he’s expecting something that isn’t there then blaming the genre itself for lack of what he expects. Like it’s a good video but without the grainy camera it literally fits in with like every other short film ever made. It’s good but it does kinda show where his expectations are when watching something fairly new genres like analog horror but that’s just my opinion

There are limits to that though.
So many of these series decided to show an apocalypse from which human society will never recover through the medium of slideshows.
I don't need to be able to see much in the way of effects and violence but I do want more than a couple of low resolution photographs of people with their eyes and mouth made bigger in Photoshop accompanied by a text to speech program.
My experience with so many of these series has been utterly underwhelming because there is literally so much you could be doing that isn't just a series of tedious PowerPoint presentations, followed by footage of characters filming their mundane activities, moments before something bad happens to them.
