Thank you for the info. I have been applying non stop and not getting anywhere. I have experience, a PMP, and CSM certification. I think that my resume has a lot to do with it. It is way to generic. I actually paid to have someone to write it for me smh. Anyway good tips, I will defiantly try them out.

Hi Alvin, I had a question. How do you reconcile the advice in this video with the advice in your resume cheat sheet? In particular, in the resume cheat sheet, you recommend avoiding listing soft skills but I noticed that you have soft skills in leadership and client service listed in your resume. Rather PMP, I have IPMA certificate, the European version. Is there any chance of grtting interview, if I draft resume accordingly?
Alvin, I noticed on your Resume template it will most likely goes beyone just 1 page which I think is the norm. Are you concerned at all if the resume ends up being 2 pages?
You'll have to tailor your resume to fit it, based on the years of experience you have, the industry and the company you're applying to. My recommendation is to include "just enough" so that you don't overwhelm the recruiter and hiring manager. Since I don't know your full background and experience, I'd recommend on making sure each bullet point emphasizes the accomplishments and results you've driven, and that each is brief and concise
So it’s hopeless for people who don’t have a certification?
Of course not, several of my other Project Manager colleagues do NOT have certifications. Having the CAPM or PMP Certifications are levers you can pull to better negotiate a higher salary, or separate yourself from other candidates. during the interviewing process.
