The busy nature of our home means we are often caught up in just getting through each day - though I would argue that each small action we take throughout the day reflects the care we have for one another (pouring a cup of coffee for your partner, packing a child's lunch, or folding laundry at night). Each of us has an internal world - our own set of ideas, plans, and goals - that sometimes get put on hold or shifted as we focus on getting through the day-to-day.
