I learned that the "light touch" is the secret to a comfortable, nick-free, shave after I came across Mark Szorady's videos 3 years ago. His mantra, "A light touch, let the razor do all the work." makes all the difference. When it comes to my adjustables, I get such good shaves with my Rockwell 6S that I rarely use them. And all my favorite blades work with the 6S. But I do understand that you have to do a lot of experimenting because you are reviewing so many products. Your honest assessments are appreciated.
good morning Dave. The rockwell sale on at the present time is excellent I ordered the 6C package deal comes with brush 100 blades pre shave and after shave ,a stand for the razor. a used razor bank etc. all for $130. canadian along with free shipping
check the alpha shaving updated "Outlaw Evolution". its an amazing razor. i just got the titanium version coming from the previous model "the outlaw mild" in stainless they also still make it in SS
Need to see your take on some Karve razors. I absolutely love my Overlander! They just released a more budget friendly razor too called the Bison. Around $79 usd shipped from Canada 🇨🇦
The Karve Overlander is my favourite razor. Beautifully made, mild, smooth, and efficient. I have the black aluminum version. Absolutely gorgeous. Available in a variety of handle lengths.
Hi Dave, request if you could schedule the live streams at 9 AM EST which is 7.30 PM in India. It would be easy to catch your live sessions for people in this region. Thanks
Another nice video ! Thanks for your knowledge.. I am getting pretty good with the rockwell products but I still get the occasional nic.. the alum block really helps with that. It really does stop the bleeding right away. I also just switched to personna blades and they are great! Just as good if not better than feather imo!
Watched and commented along and after seeing someone mention the one 6C variant for effectively 13 dollars more than what I paid for the R1 I felt it was only right to give it a chance after swearing it off. While I am more partial to razors with the angle baked in I am willing to give this a try to see if the hype about the 6C/S is warranted (at least for me). Good news is after this Black Friday weekend is I won't need any supplies for a long time...the rabbit hole is officially full.
I have been traditional shaving for almost give years and , at times, still find myself using too much pressure. Given this, if I get a rough shave, I always put it fown to user error first
I always enjoy your videos. One correction for you, I just purchased a Henson++ from Razor Emporium with their Black Friday 25% off. Keep up the informative videos! Take care, Lindsay 💈
I can't go across the grand with my checks. I get bad razor burn and a bit of Irritation. I have to go down first and my second pass I go up, under my neck is vise versa
Awesome channel ! Waa wondering if you ever tried out the Karve DE razors from Canada ? Trying to decide as a long time DE razor devotee to purchase the Brass Karve or the Rockwell 6C , a remarkable DE razor ! Thank you !
I have the Karve Christopher Bradley brass with eight different plates, open and closed comb. I did not get a good shave out of it with any of the base plates. A big waste of my money for me. Therefore, I am not a big fan of this company at all. The Rockwell will dominate this razor and being able to adjust to different plates for different types of blades is one awesome feature. If you don’t own a Rockwell razor, I would definitely get one over the Karve.
There was always a difference in quality between Gillette 7 o'clock green made made in Russia and Germany. But, I have found that, in the Henson, the Indian blade is WAY better. My use case.
There's a lot of talk about sensitive skin causing razor rash and in-growns. I have rarely had this problem since I started shaving as a teen and I'm in my early 40s now, so I'm assuming that I don't have sensitive skin. In the context of shaving, has anyone here experienced a change in skin sensitivity as they have aged? More sensitive? Less sensitive? Also, does this mean that more aggressive razors might work well for me?
@@OhioShaves cheers, So I assume that is a Yes. ;) I'm located in Europe normally I prefer to buy locally for less trouble with customs and after sales service. it is good to know that i need to makes sure it is the latest version before I buy anywhere. my wallet needs to recover from black Friday. so it would be a while anyway. :)
Always giving good info to those as me ho are lover of safety razor btw have to react to some razor from India as pearl Bombay shaving company and as well Parker
@@OhioShavesI’m glad you asked 😎 I only have my toe in the rabbit hole with 4 razors. A 1961 Gillette Slim that I’ve had Matt Rhodium plate, a Gillette Heritage, a razorock Game Changer with a .68 and .76 head and the Razorock Mamba 70. The Mamba 70 is my favorite and is the most blade friendly of all. The Game Changer .76 is a close second. Both Razorock razors are SS machine and beautiful. GC is $55 & Mamba is $65 with a choice of 5 different handles. The Mamba 70 has the thinner head which makes upper lip/nose shave easier. Hope this helps, Al
Your video image it's perfect for me! Don't worry! Your presentations are excellent also! One of the best wet shaving channel out there!
Thank you much
The reason I love watching your channel is because you’re truthful and honest about your product reviews that is Gold.
Thanks Matt

I didn't have a good shave with my Christopher Bradly. So I haven't jumped for the Overlander yet. Still on the fence.
@@OhioShaves appreciate your feedback. I’ve heard the shaving angle can be difficult with the CB
Try the Overlander, totally different from the Christopher Bradley. Far more forgiving with excellent results.

Noted!
On topic of OH brick & mortar options: Shannon’s soaps is local to NEO. Not sure if there’s a brick & mortar, though.
She is from Northeast Ohio, but no brick and mortar store. At least not yet. Maybe someday.

Thayers witch hazel eligible to purchase with a Health Saving Acct, I purchased 8 bottles last year when the funds was about to run out
Great to know. Thanks for sharing that for all that are eligible.

You're referring to the RK blades that come with the razor?
@OhioShaves oh, no. They are terrible, in my opinion. I was comparing Gillette 7 o'clock green made in Russia and India.

You might be in the clear. I really like the shave of a safety razor
You should try the new soap line from West Coast shaving
It seems like every online razor company is coming up with their own soap line. Is there a soap company making soap for everyone?
What do you think of the Vikings Blade Chieftain razor?
Cheap and expensive way. Better options. Specially, at that price point.
is the titanium henson always version 2? or does there exist a version 1 too?
If you buy from Henson it's V2

If you want a box of 100 Indian Astra SP, let me know how to get them to you. I'm also in Ohio (CBUS) if you're local.
I'm in Canton, Ohio. Here is my email davidmartin8000@gmail.com
Email sent. Cheers.
Who else besides p&g are relocating?
I will have to research that because I’m not 💯sure
@OhioShaves I think it's just the p&g blades . I don't use a single p&g product there are so many good ones out there
I get a much better cut with a light touch.
