that scene is the epitome of françoise. and i understand why she was such the object of desire for so many men...bowie,jagger & dylan. she is such a beauty but never tries to be one....she just is. mysterious with a bit of an aloofness.

This is one of my ALL time favorite movies!! And I think Francoise Hardy is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. I used to say when I grew up I so wanted to look like her,
but didn't find out anything about her until 40 years too late.:)

Romy Schneider was the greatest combination of looks and immense acting talent. She was never well known or appreciated in the United States. It's hard to believe she left this earth over 40 years ago.

She is the most Beautiful woman I have ever seen, and if I could model my looks after anyone, it would most definetly be her! I was just a tot when she did this scene. :)

    • @GianMarcoTavazzani

She is much more than beautiful; she's lovely, charmant and… nevertheless unlucky in love; too intelligent and sensitive for men who can't go 'under the surface' of a PERSON, because her personality was too broad to can resumed in 'a female', which was exactly what most of the men could see.
But listen to her songs, read her words, feel her interpretations for all her life and you see that she was a poet, a soul… deeply lonely. Lucky, no way, if being successful is a luck for you, for sure much less for her, who claimed to dislike to 'seduce', reason why she stopped to appear.
On the other hand, we males should stop to believe that what attracts us and end to call 'beauty' is something that could be fixed in a static, 'still image'; consider her way to move her neck, her hair, to 'half-open' her eyes: don't tell me that this is not communicating you something about her inner complex mix of need to be left in peace with herself and her thoughts and feelings and also of a silent hug, reassuring her to have someone on her side. And… once you feel to give her what she longs to have… you are in love… and what you see is 'beauty', like to justify a feeling too tender for a 'macho', a 'weak' for her… and 'we' are ashamed to be 'weak'… isn't it? 😉

Dire movie. The 60s was a time when those people left over from the 50s (some, not all, not even a majority) felt the need to be groovy and completely screwed it up. You can put this in the same bin as Casino Royale, Prudence and the Pill, and a multitude of others.
