Yes! Thanks, I love the videos you putt out. I am a sixteen-year-old girl who just started learning the Merlin with my 12- year- old brother about almost a year ago. And we just love it. We got my other brother who just turned 15 a Merlin for his birthday. Thanks again for the videos.
May 18 2017 New Beginner @72 yrs old..I am trying to learn a good strum or finger picking..first off before working the fret board....Thank You Kind Sir for your Video's
Hey man! Thanks for the lesson! Played around on my brother in laws M4 and couldn't put it down, now that I have one, this helped a lot, now I have to work on rythm lol
Seastur thanks for watching. with out modifying the merlin the closed cheat is 434. it's an unrooted C which means it will only work in certain situations. I use it in sweet child of mine and royals if you want to check it out.
Well, I played around with it in other songs and it really doesn't work too well, like you said. I guess I have to learn more about how to transpose chords.
Know that I think about it I think every time I use it the song is in the Key of D. If it's in C or G because it's unrooted it doesn't work. That leaves you with either modifying your merlin or a different tuning. On the Google plus merlin page there is a lot of talk about DGD tuning that is suppose to open all the chords but I have never tried it.
You make mention of adding an extra fret and that it is in a past video, but you don't mention exactly WHAT video you are talking about and where to find it. Could you please post a link perhaps?
ua-cam.com/video/ICBrqvQ-MjI/v-deo.html This is the video that I talk about it in. But I dont really show how I did it. I will do a how to lesson soon.
+MariUS-A. If you haven't yet found this document, I found it on Google Docs under the Google Plus user community dedicated to the Merlin ie., plus.google.com/communities/118439335147665343514 If you scroll down some you will see a poi named CJ Veniot.....I believe this is the CJ the author referred to in his video. Under this person's user page I (eventually) was able to find the document containing the chord chart. Good luck!
+Andrew Walsh well- first off: thx a lot. i was lookin' around hard, but i guess not hard enough b/c i certainly didn't come across it. would you be willin' to mail me the pdf?
Haven’t even thought about my Merlin in forever. My dad has started playing his again so just knew I needed to start learning again. TY for the lesson

@@RyansSeagullMerlinM4Lessons yes please!! I'm buying a Merlin tomorrow and would miss having a C cord
Is there some where to find all the cords for the G merlin.
Its all the same chords just a different key. Every thing you can do on the D you can do on the G. The D becomes a G, E-A, G-C, A-D, B-E

MY FINGERS! So, what exercise could I do to help not strain my fingers? I got a cramp on my first time...
Well the only thing to do is keep playing and eventually you wont get them anymore. I get cramps as well after not playing for awhile.
Thank You
