This scene was absolutely H Y S T E R I C A L and the musical score to go with same. Every time I see this I holler. Mrs. Parmore was CLASSIC in this one. This was brilliant. I just loved how she acted so remorseful after she flings that sauce on Mrs. Wilson, ("His Majesty's Page Of The Back Stairs"). SMH. You don't come into someone else's home and take over. The Royal staff looked right silly the next morning at breakfast. Mr. Wilson, with that sullen look on his face when Mr. Carson bit into his toast. You could hear the crunch.
This is the one thing I've always disliked about individuals who work for prestigious people. Over a short time they become cocky then full on arrogant. As if their positions are written in stone, when in reality they can & will be quickly replaced with the snap of their prestigious employer's fingers smh. There is a thin line between having pride in your position & being arrogant in your position
@@blackeyedsusan727Haha yup I've been in designer stores where I've been looked up and down because I dont wear the latest fashions 😅 but I love looking around and I usually do end up buying something like a necklace or a bag and as soon as I want to buy something then they act all friendly and nice 😅😅
This whole plotline was very unrealistic. An aristocratic household treating the royal staff like this would never be accepted. Yes the royal staff were rude but the things that happened in this movie are miles from reality. Entertaining to watch but too implausible to actually enjoy.
Right. Idk this movie was decent but it just felt like a Downton Staff vs. Royal Staff with a few other subplots thrown in there. The best scene was the one between Mary and the Dowager at the end of the movie. I thought the second movie was better imo.
Agreed and for Carson to let them carry out their plan was unrealistic. Also if anyone else came up with the plan Anna would of been against it but because it's hers and Bates idea she liked it lol 😅
Love Downton Abbey, then you will love C.A MacRae's Gemini Complex, The Cabal: After the final demise of the Cathars at Chateau Mount Montségur in the south of France in 1244, a heroic rescue by a Knights Templar took place. Six hundred and fifty-three years later a murder and spate of suspicious deaths of the clergy become linked in the south of France. Flo’s first day (10th November 1918) at Chandringham doesn’t work out quite how she imagined. A bright but humble farm girl finds herself thrust into the upper echelons of society. Rather than being trained in the everyday tasks of a maid, she’s told she needs to leave her old life behind and immerse herself in the life of the aristocracy, as Lady Mary Tavistock. Her world is turned upside down, Flo realises she’s not the person she’s always thought she was and to make matters worse she finds out her life is endangered. In order to make sense of who she really is and what her purpose in life is, she’s sent to Switzerland to meet others of her kind. The Gemini Complex, The Cabal is the first book of a trilogy. It's going to be released later this year
I was ok with the king bringing his own staff. What I found funny was the reaction of the Downton servants. Insist on serving themselves, by any means necessary? If I was in their shoes, my reaction would have been along these lines, "A replacement? Yay! I'm off to enjoy a couple of days of holiday which servants never get! See ya when I get back!!!"
@@GosieKin to me it's kind of like a performer getting the chance to play the royal variety show. They want to do their job for the king and queen. It's an honour for them
Downton isn't all that accurate.. but the series has its moments that are very good, in between a lot of not very accurate scenarious. for example the fighting between Spratt and Denker is rather silly but it is amusing.. in small doses... but the film just sounds like it is trying to make a big comedy out of the Kings visit..
I love how the Downton Abbey staff got rid off all of the royal staff lol
I don’t the royal staff should be serving. They have been screened and are trusted.

Sorry guys, but Mrs. Patmore rules the house. She is the true Queen here.

I love everything Downton Abbey! Love Mrs. Patmore! I love Edith’s dress.
Mrs. Patmore played her part perfectly.
Prompts me to get the film out, again. It was quite good to see the Hexham’s spat.
Serves him right , he aught not to yelled at her like that.
0:35 That's what you get for yelling at a lady 😂😂😂
Oh yes, they had it coming in spades! XD

If I was Lord Grantham I would tell the Queen's Butler this is my house if you disrespect my staff my family you can leave there's the door

Don't mess with the Downton staff, 👍👍👍
Mrs. . Parkmore should have packed them a brown bag for their trip.
What is His Majesty's Page of the Back Stairs? Who knows?
Thomas should have said "In other words, the butler."
Yeah 👉👌page of the backstairs all right.
It's a sad chains of miserable :(
This royal page or something deserved it, ha ha ha! 1 - 0 Mrs Patmore!
His shirt was messed
Is it just me who finds this whole plotline preposterous? One does not bring one's own serving staff to another person's house. It's just rude
True but this isn't an ordinary rich family visiting it's the royal family. I don't think it's intended to be rude it's probably for security reasons.
@@imogenonscreen8054 you mean so that none of the staff, like revolutionary Mr Branson, can poison the king
@@cameronhodgetts920 Probably yes. Although I couldn't stand how awful the royal staff were to the Downton's they were the ones who were rude.

Downtown staff were wrong in this situation
Major Downton fan here that thinks this movie and season six are a travesty and not faithful to the original. How can anyone like this movie?
I and I'm sure many others feel the same. This needed to remain episodic. The movie rushes compressing plots and characters. Big let down.
It did feel terribly compressed. There could have been a whole season based on the visit of the royals to Downton.
I liked it. And season 6 was my favorite. So...

Well it's a movie instead of episodes which allow the plot to be explained over several episodes.
I love how the Downton Abbey staff got rid off all of the royal staff lol
