- A video project that my good friend Dichie Shiori and I have been working on for quite a while now since he made his 10 levels of Switch Axe video. But I hope you guys enjoy this video! It was a lot of fun making it and it was definitely pretty challenging to make.

Hammer is my main and only weapon... It's uniquely easy to learn and hard to master. Moves are all quite simple... Ledge hopping being maybe the only technique that can be a bit tricky... But it's the knowledge about when and how to use which move that makes the hammer player stand out from the rest. Positioning and timing are so crucial every time. Handling the different charge levels while moving and approaching the desisered spot of a monster. Punishing according to opportunity windows considering how committed you have to be to some moves. In the end... A very satisfactory weapon to play and to learn.
"Centrifugal press" is a better technique name than it has any right to be
4:38 I have this weird Asian power that can also be found when measuring the amount of water needed for cooking rice and it's that a strange voice calls out to me if the water is enough, same goes when I use the hammer, a strange voice calls out to me when the monster is about to KO so I hit it with the big attacks, never fails me

A great cb player will fully use the guard point technique to make defensive counterattacks.
A Great Hammer player just beats monsters on the ground.

im glad to know that after maining hammer since mhw release im a level 10 user. aerial hammer has no business being as good as it is. its so fun defying the laws of gravity and trajectory with hammer.

Surprised to see ledge hopping wasnt mentioned on its own.
Also, chaining spinning airial bludgeons on a hill can absolutely demolish enemies and give you lots of mounting damage.
If you are going down in a diagonal, you can tilt your camera to the point of jumping uphill again with the flying spinning bludgeon.
Glad I use almost all of them( I don't do counting damage for exhaust and part breaks and the slinger combos).

Monster Trapping is peak, but I'd like to add that continuous monster stunning and exhausting makes the poor creature damn near completely unable to move lol

How do you do the brutal big bang and then follow it up with the clutch claw centrifugal press spin?

Thank you for the kind words! As for the Great Sword tech, that wasn't my video. That was by Aris MH. The 10 levels of ____ is something that several runners of the community decided to do to show off some of the neat stuff you can do with the weapon.
@@Lumini_T Whoops! My bad. Maybe I'll hop over to that video in particular again sometime, haha. I wonder how the 10 levels of the bowguns are. "Lvl 1-10, point and shoot" :D
Seriously though, I'll keep that ledge-hop trap spam in mind, manually disengaging the mount like that looks to be so helpful.
@@Matadurr As a heads up, the ledge trap spam is just one example of a monster knockdown. There are other runners out there like Retrou who have excellent examples of level 10 play in their runs. As for the ledge hop spam, you can make it even stronger by utilizing Frostcraft. Then every time you get a mount, your meter starts refilling for more juicy damage!
@@Lumini_T excellent idea! I recently figured out doing a golf swing after a charged aerial attack. More stylish than anything, but it sure is fun. I just wish we could change the angle of attacks slightly when doing a Big Bang combo...elder dragon heads thrashing about when toppled are the bane of my existence.

Insect Glaive could be interesting.
Level 11 is *consistent* centrifugal press to head. Not the body or wings.
Level 10 is literally just ledge hop spam. Am hammer main (on alt), can confirn: it works.

Took me til gold g crown in mh4u to learn that charge attacks existed

Wow I'm happy to say I'm level 9! I don't use aerial hammer since its very situational but dang my bonk game is on point!
Aerial Hammer is just one way to achieve lvl 10. Remember, if you can lock the monster down, then it's considered as lvl 10!
How do the super spinnyroundy bonks when clutching? :Oc
You can do it by using the clutch action after performing a level 3 charge attack

Area 3 for ledge hops dealing 960 + per hop is the best.
How is 0:04 performed? always playing MHW and stops when Iceborne come out. Is that a new move?

Main greatsword first then main hammer
Hammer is so easy, that i mastered it a few hours after picking it up for the first time. I was also getting better times on monsters than with other wepons.
Accidentally lvl 10 Hammer main I guess.
Git gud is the only tip u needed
