Im so tired of Disney threatening us with new star wars content 😂
Gore is such a shill...he says Star Wars is dead and then "STAR WARS". LOL. He was groveling here like a puppy.
Well more threats to come as Rey is coming and more girl boss is in the works.
what did we ever do to disney lol - expose them as child molesters?
There is so much Star Wars UA-cam shilling at the moment. So much rage bait "Star Wars is dead/The Acolyte has killed SW."
The easiest way to monetize a film/tv UA-cam channel is to make "this show/movie sucks!" content. It's like a moth to a flame. People are drawn to rage click bait.
Is Chris a rage bait UA-camr? Hmm. 🤭
Its not a threat. Its a promise 😅
If Disney wants to lose another 300 million dollars, let them do it. Rey is a trash character.
But the 3 Rey movies made $5 billion box office. 🤯
The force is female!
Zzzzzzzz. 🥱
@@jonfreeman9682
They dropped significantly from the 1st to last.
100% correct. Disney: We are releasing the next Rey Movie, Ex Star Wars Fans: Yawn!
@@jonfreeman9682 yeah when the image of star wars wasnt destroyed and the fans not even pissed but apatetic against the franchise, I am sure a considerable porcent of the acolyte views are from people who heard that they where going to destroy starwars and where curious about it and even them its bad for the numbers that starwars used to move, right now with how damaged the reputation of star wars is even if the movie is good is going to have a hard time making money since most of the fans just dont care anymore or are against disney and katleen kennedy
Daisy should back out just to save herself the headache, but I get she needs a check.
She comes from a well-off family, she can never act again & still live a comfortable life.
She should make all the money she can before it all dries up.
I hope she fleeces them for millions
Ridley is a rich entitled child born in Westminster of grandparents that were landed elitist gentry, BBC execs and tv stars (Dad's Army specifically). She is not exactly a starving artist who is living pay check to pay check. She is also a wooden actress who has not worked for anything a day in her life.
Well she hasn't done much since so this is a big payday.
Why would it NOT be a go? Acolyte proves Kathleen Kennedys plan is going exactly as she wants.
nope
Surely it will work on the 23rd try.. right?
he's absolutley right. rey is KK's self insert super all-mighty bestest jedi ever. she is not going to let that character go away. she's getting her own movie and I'll bet it's called:
Star Wars REY
Because things are changing. Iger is currently in a panic state, and he is almost certainly going to lose his next proxy battle. Disney stock has dropped under $100. This won’t last until the next movie, the company will collapse first.
@@Skyblade12 and its dropping to slow for how bad everything is going either in the movies, disney plus and now even the parks
They aren't gonna stop. Their content isn't going to reverse or improve. They are on a path. It's a path that very few people want to join them on. They've blown a $4 billion franchise.
"Woke is the path to the dark side. Woke leads to bland writing. Bland writing leads to boring characters. Boring characters and bland story lead to hate. Hate leads to blaming the audience for being anti woke. Blaming the audience leads to suffering.
I sense much woke in you, Disney."
I hope they do make a Rey movie and put in a crazy amount money into it... not because i will watch it or actually want to see it, but instead because i want it to flop, Disney to go broke and be forced to either die off or sell the star wars IP.
Last 3 Rey made $5 billion box office so the force is strong. But not sure if new sequels will do well.
@@jonfreeman9682they very clearly won't.
@@jonfreeman9682 because the OT characters were in them
@@jonfreeman9682You desperately need to learn what the word "earn" means.
Disney has not made a profit off of the 4 billion they paid to buy Lucasfilm and Star Wars.
The last film for example cost nearly 500 million after reshooting a half dozen times. They spent at least 200 million to advertise it. Theaters Take 50% of the revenue. It barely made 1 billion and total cost required them to make 1.3 billion just to break even.
That means the last film lost hundreds of millions of dollars. It didn't make a cent.
Then add to that the fact Star Wars merchandise was once the heart of profits for the franchise. Now NOBODY buys the merchandise. Disney is eating those contracts up.
That has to cost Disney hundreds of millions as well.
Then add to that the fact Disney can't earn the money they promised investors every quarter. So their stock drops. That means the company has lost value.
Add to that the fact Disney plus hasn't earned them a cent and cost them well over 100 million as they produce one bad show after another. Each of them costing 1 million per episode of show after show that NOBODY watches.
As it loses hundreds of millions on Rey films.
Disney hasn't "earned" a cent.
I am so fortunate to never have seen "The Rise of Skywalker" and to have passed on "The Acolyte" so far. I have been spared the biggest bombs in the Star Wars franchise.
But have you seen the Abomination that is known as The Last Jedi
If you play the benny holl theme in your head for the last jedi, it makes it much better.
Roundhead made space balls 2. Looking back now, i don't fault him.
Imagine you get hired to direct a star wars film only to find out , you have no control, your just remaking empire strikes back instead of an original film.
He makes a pos filn that he knows the audience will hate, but duhsney/ kk loved loved it.
What was he supposed to do?
I might have done the same thing.
@@RenEffect Unfortunately yes and i am still traumatized by the occasion.
@@ardendragoon You do what Wachowskis did with Matrix 4, you do it but you also do it in such a way that makes an absolute mockery out of the whole affair ;)
Well you need to finish the Rey trilogy and Skywalker story. Acolyte is loved by critics giving it 91% fresh 🍅 so it's not for everyone.
Daisy Ridley very skillfully avoided saying anything that was slagging the fans, or the people she worked for/with, while acknowledging the disastrous reception of TLJ and RoS. Obviously a smart girl. Agreed with Chris that she’s a victim of the execrable writing in those films.
I agree that she comes off as professional which I respect, however like nearly every other actor under the age of 35 I just don’t get why she is a star. Zero charisma, limited acting range, mid in the look Dept.
She knowingly destroyed Star Wars for a paycheck, stop simping for her.
@@majorgear1021 what on earth are you on about? It's not the actors fault the writing is bad or the dialogue or how it's shot, they turn up say their lines and go home it's just ignorant to blame people who had no say in the making process 🙄
Very few actors have the credentials to influence a script. Daisy Ridley is not one of them. Outside of Star Wars, she still is a nobody. Based on what she has said on interviews, she seems self-aware. She probably thought she was very lucky to be there, and chose not to argue against divisive plot points.
@@SR-ob3wn Believe it or not, by British standards, she is very attractive. Considering how influential her family is, I think we can assume why she got cast.
There were only 3 Skywalkers. Anikin, Luke and Liea.
Rey is not a Skywalker. She's a Palpatine.
palpatine died in return of the jedi, rey is a nobody
@@jayrock248 Good old Anikin and Liea. 😏
I hate that movie more than the Last Jedi, Anakin's sacrifice and redemption was for nothing.
Rey is a fan fiction character inserted into the dead husk of a franchise that ended in 1983.
When I came back from cinema after episode VIII I couldn't sleep. I just couldn't believe how garbage this movie was. I have made a promise not to give a single damn penny to Disney and avoid episode IX. Glad I did cause we all know how it turned out. Now I see Disney gives me another opportunity to skip their SW movie (if it's ever released), nice.
All the best to Daisy, just so she understands there's no way I'll be watching any follow-up to TLJ. Or any other Star Wars made after that movie.
Yep. No hate towards her, we're just done with Disney.
Chris is praising Daisy for not bashing fans, having her own thoughts, and doing her job. Think about this for a sec. Praise for doing what she's supposed to, for not being a robot and having her own thoughts, and for not attacking the fans. This is what Disney Star Wars has done to people, giving praise for things that should never be praised.
I feel like Charlie Brown kicking field goals but with Disney holding the ball instead of Lucy.
Well at the end of the day, they're flushing way more of their money down the toilet than you are.
I think Lucasfilm should just go to the bank, take out half of what they will spend on the movie. Then just burn it. Not all at once. Turn the camera on. Stretch it out for 2 hours or so and just keep feeding a little money in to keep the fire going. They can even go meta with this and have the fire in a dumpster. They will get a movie of equal quality for half the price. That should make the investors happy.
What the heck. May I suggest that they give some to me? I really need it and burning it seems a waste.
This only works if a black lesbian is talking about her lesbianism while she shovels the money into the fire. Diversity Dumpster Monologues.
It's like what Wallace Shawn says in "Vegas Vacation:" Why don't you give me half the money you were gonna bet, we'll go out back, I'll kick you in the nuts, and we'll call it a day.
We've already had a Rey movie - three of them actually. This is like if George Lucas said in the mid 80s, "we should make another Star Wars, but this time, we're going to centre it on Luke Skywalker, because we never got to explore that character properly".
Why would she put herself through this again is beyond me?
Because it's Disney, they are stupid and they will probably over pay her to come back and play Rey again!
They offered her a lot of money but honestly she doesn’t need it. Not because of the residual checks she’ll receive for the rest of her life, but because she comes from a well-off family that already had money. She was well above middle-class before she ever started acting.
I feel like Charlie Brown kicking field goals but with Disney holding the ball instead of Lucy.
A massive payday. Basically she makes more money from Star Wars than everything else combined for the rest of her life. Luke Skywalker lives off just Star Wars payday plus royalties for life.
Money and she doesn’t care that she is destroying Star Wars
Like Peter Griffin once said:
"Who careeees!"
Agreed. I’m at the point that I’m just sick of hearing about anything Star Wars. Both in general because the brand is dead but also I feel like that’s all this channel has been talking about to death the past week or so. I may have to unsubscribe for a week cause I need a break from this stuff
I never thought I'd see the day where I am now dreading future Star Wars projects.
I agree... but these are Disney "Star Wars" so are not really Star Wars projects at all.
I think Disney and Lucasfilm are allergic to profits by this point.
She said calling rey a mary sue was sexist so shes part of the problem.
She has reversed course on that this year, defended SW fans against allegations of misogyny.
Yep. I won’t watch any movie with her in it .
Thank you for saying that. I thought I was the only one who remembers her saying that.
Yep, 100%! It also show the shallow thinking of many actors and "creatives" since there is a male version of that called a Marty Stew. It was never about sex it was about bad fan-fic characters.
More money being flushed for Disney? I'm down with that
DO IT!
Why not?
She can team up with all the Space lesbicans and create a new Jedi order!
Oh wait they're all dead.
Doesn't matter Rey is space Jesus anyhow, she can create life all on her own.
The power of maneeey.....dead space witch lezbos.
Daisy belongs in Bridgerton, not Star Wars
Please no evil mouse, we have suffered enough.
This new star wars film is going to go down like treading in shit with your new Nike trainers on
Would disagree that Daisey has never said anything toward the fans. She was a bit vocal prior to Force Awakens. She quieted down a lot after that, though.
I can only imagine how empty the theaters will be.
Biggest bomb in cinematic history, calling it right now
They still really want to do this!? I don’t have a problem with Daisy Ridley but this is not good.
I don't think too many fans had a problem with Daisy Ridley. It was her character "Rey" that was poorly written along with the rest of the Sequel trilogy. I think Disney can close that chapter of the Rey Star Wars saga.
Yea you'll never see me watching or playing star wars media again
There are only 6 Star Wars movies in the franchise. I watch them frequently and think they’re really good! What don’t you like?
@@lachl8634 😆
@@lachl8634 Well, three for sure...
The only way this can be saved is for Rey to be the ultimate villain. I think that may happen, but KK will push for Rey to be framed as the hero and to win.
I usually just come here to listen to Alan but I've gotta comment on Chris's beard it is bangin'!
Kelly Clarkson is basically Jimmy Fallon--laugh at everything with a single clap.
What A nightmare, and I don't even live on Elm St. This garbage is bad enough to scare even Freddy.
Her publicist deserves a raise. They've done an exceptional job with her.
I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not... hard to know these days.
Thanks!
Daisy has a dominatrix's voice
At this point they can waste as much money as they want and most don’t care.
Hopefully they will see the results of The Acolyte, and just cancel this.
I'm of the same thought - don't think they will have the balls to a SW movie in theaters
That would be akin to admitting they were wrong and that will never happen, not without outside influence.
I don't hate Daisy Ridley. TBH, I don't have any feelings about her or Rey at all. Which if you're an actor probably really isn't a good thing when fans don't give a shit about you one way or the other.
Daisy is part of the problem because she agrees to participate
Hate the character and plot, not the actors and crew.
@@4lackofbetter don’t tell me what to hate I mean what I said
Doesn't help when she is one of the worst written characters in history
@@FelipeSantos-wu1uf And she is not a good enough actor to at least mitigate that issue.
They had the cast to do the opposing twins story, the children of Han and Leia, instead she’s the daughter of Palpatine. I still think that some day, years from now, we’ll find out that Kennedy changed the plot right before production started.
So glad that I was always a semi SW fan. Checked out halfway through EP1 in theater and was done. I gave up on SW in 1999. My condolences to everyone who loved the franchise and powered through.
No hate on Daisy in fact I respect her and wish they had cared enough to give her good scripts and direction.
She's not Harrison Ford, she lacked the credentials to influence the script. Overall, she seems self-aware, which is commendable all things considered.
The Force is not a force, it's a thread.
Ofc she’s biased towards the film. She loves everyone in it. And she can’t say it’s bad. The fact she went along with him is WAY more than most celebrities will do. I applaud her response
We were crying too Daisy...
My thoughts are: I despise what Disney has done to Star Wars. But I like Daisy Ridley.
Well Daisy Ridley is back. Rey is a beloved character to the tune of $5 billion box office. 🤯
@@jonfreeman9682Actually closer to $4.4 billion dollars, of which $2.07 billion dollars is the (entertaining if flawed) The Force Awakens. Tying box office receipts to whether Rey is 'beloved' is a stretch. I paid to go see the movie, doesn't mean I loved Rey.
@@jonfreeman9682 Rey is definitely not a beloved character. There's nothing likeable about her.
Why?
@@sandman_says_runrunner4701 why what? I hate what Disney has done; Rey is an awful character; but Daisy Ridley seems like a lovely young woman.
I'm starting to think Disney is purposely punishing everyone until we give in and accept its content.
Daisy is all over the place trying to Not say the wrong thing. Bless her
Well, following the tremendous success of The Acolyte how could they not go ahead with this, what a platform to leapfrog off of.
As long as Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is the Director... this movie is a bomb before it even gets started.
As fans, we hate the character Rey, not the actress who played her.
I personally would've liked to see her character struggle a bit more, and i believe Daisy would've portrayed that well.
I find this interesting because lots of Star Wars fans (not necessarily you) hated Kelly Marie Tran so much just for playing Rose Tico. They were racist towards her and misogynistic towards her. It's perfectly fine to hate a character. But I despise people who were horrible towards Kelly Marie Tran. She simply did her job. Too many people are too stupid to tell the difference between a character and an actor.
@@Criner05 That is a lie.
Please Disney, stop harassing us with new Star Wars content
I've seen RoS once as well! I intended to keep it that way!
Damn, I used to hate Ray and Daisy for messing up Star Wars, but Chris is right, Dasiy is respectful to us and understands, or seems to at least.
You're right Gore. Rey looked amazing in starwars. The writing and screenplay let her down though. She was a woman but fit and in shape. Her fighting style was a blend of scavenger and Jedi which was cool. Her hair style changed as she progressed in the force. Kylo Ren has amazing texture on his sith outfit. Rey and Adam were great cast. Same with Po and Finn. Po could've been an amazing pilot even better with better writing. And Finn could have been in conflict or a sleeper agent backing up a sith Rey. Just so much potential there.
At this point, there is nothing Disney can do. The only thing that will peak people’s interest is if they sell Star Wars to a company that actually cares about the brand.
Not even George Lucas can save Star Wars for me.
I was going to say... Having just seen the The Rise of Skywalker (or the first several minutes of it) for the first time only a few weeks ago, I can't imagine that anyone supported it. It was so bad that after I stopped watching, I canceled Disney+.
Oh, God. I forgot this was even a thing.
Somehow, Rey came back.
It makes me sad because I think she actually did a good job with the character she was given. She was just given a bad character and a bad story. Rey might have been a really cool and potentially beloved character. Now we'll never know.
Can’t stand Disney Star Wars but it was really interesting hearing her speaking so genuinely about her craft and her experience
Shes great. i dont think anyone on either side of the divided fandom dislikes Daisy or any of the actors of the sequel trilogy for that matter. They were all class acts. I am all for her being the future beyond the 'skywalker' era there was never a problem there, so long as she is given the writing she deserves.
That Thumbnail tho 😂
She does a good job dancing around the issue… She’s smart enough to know that Disney Star Wars is terribly unpopular, the movies and definitely the series…especially with boys and men.
I have to disagree strongly with you. If She truly was a professional as you say, she would have studied more profoundly the lore and would not have been so agreeable and down to keep such bad scenes of herself(ray)
She's as much to blame as the rest. Obviously the true villans are the writers. But that makes her a minion
Since she hasn't come out and pissed all over the fandom, I'd like to be fair and see her in something else and judge her talent a bit more fairly since she had the courtesy not to attack fans and blame everything on us. I hated the Star Wars movies, but I'd like to judge for myself if she's a decent actress or not. She seems nice enough irl, but we'll see. I hope she's able to crawl out of Rey's shadow.
RIP Star Wars
Of course Daisy would say that now, but at the time, she too wanted to distance herself from all that shit
The worst part of Rise of Skywalker was Palpatine zapping all the space ships with force lightning. Had to turn it off.
i really really liked her in the force awakens, i know a lot of people say the force awakens was already downhill for starwars but i was sort of hopeful. sad.
Disney is the Death Star that never got blown up
I'm not into Star Wars at all but I'm in love with her.
In the words of Palpatine: “Do it.”
Of course it's still a go. Disney has endless buckets of money to dump into this well
'Star Wars: The Return Of The Return Of Mary Sue'? It's a guaranteed box office smash....
Speaking of bad movies ... the worst movie I ever saw in the theater was The Happening. Thirty minutes into the movie, you could hear little pockets of conversation start up around the theater. At first, people were giggling, and sighing, and talking amongst themselves as politely as possible. But, as some people began to walk out, the pockets of conversation kept getting louder and louder, with people laughing and making jokes about the scenes we were watching. By the end of the movie, everyone was just talking openly, like we were all sitting in a big living room, everyone just making fun of how stupid the movie was. It was an impromptu Rocky Horror Picture Show "audience response" to one of the worst movies ever made. Absolutely packed theater, too; we were crammed in one of the back rows. I'll never forget sitting there, looking around the theater, everyone talking, no one giving a damn that the movie was still running.
Daisy in the thumbnail: “What the *Fuck* have I gotten myself into?”
Ridley called Star Wars fan sexist for complaining about Rey being overpowered when Rise of Skywalker hit theaters. This year she's actually defended fans from allegations of sexism several times. Age has possibly offered her a fresh perspective (that, and Christensen openly telling her that fans accused him of being overpowered during the Prequel era).
Disney refuse to learn one single thing. Of course they are gonna make a Rey movie.
The new Rey trilogy by Rian Johnson.
Lol Daisy giving the public an update on a movie that nobody will bother seeing anyway.
Daisy Ridley seemed really charming in those clips. I'm sorry she got tangled up in the larger tragedy of something as culturally important as Star Wars going awry. I hope she gets some good material in the new films and can springboard off of that to some good non-SW shows. Best of luck to her.
I left the theater and got a refund about 15 minutes into The Force Awakens. Everyone I came with did the same.
That was the last time I tried watching Disney Star Wars. It ended there for me.
I seriously doubt the alleged Rey movie (or movies) will be made. Even if it happens, I'm done with Disney/Star Wars, except to mock them for how badly they bungled a once-beloved cash cow IP.
They should make this movie and spend more money than has ever been spent on a Star Wars movie. Then the fans will line up for days to see it. All six of them.
I agree. They should spend 3 Billion dollars on it.
They can trust me when I say that they will make their money back and then some! (Snicker snicker) .
A Rey SW film will crash and burn so hard, it may actually ruin her career entirely. If I were her, out of respect to the fanbase *DECLINE, DECLINE, DECLINE.*
I feel sorry for the cast and crew who worry about job security while watching the project they work so hard on fall apart because the prople at the top are idiots.
Mae the thread be with you.
Disney will probly go bankrupt before they make this movie
No more jokes,no more laughs Disney!!!!!
I'd watch a Rey film. I like her character in TFA.
I would love them to bring back Ben Solo.
I've only watched each of the Disney Trilogy once.
It's criminal that they bought the IP for billions and started out with clearly zero plan for that trilogy from the outset.
And they've carried on with that hubris of just chucking content out with star wars slapped on it and thinking it'll print money.
Insane
Ridley herself stated that her interactions with fans have been mostly positive, and downplayed the accusations of "misoginy" spread all across social media, proving not only that she's a pro, but also that she's quite reasonable. Hopefully, she'll see that staying under the STAR WARS umbrella might kill her career as an actress, not just because any future product will be more than likely awful, but also because she risks being typecasted as her character, a nightmare for any actor or actress.
CG: "...young woman and the sea, which I forced Alan to go see..."
AN: "and I will have my revenge, in this life or the next!"
I liked the new characters & was looking forward to hearing their stories. My biggest complaint was that they wasted all their potential, on bad stories
Daisy Ridley said it's sexist to call Rey a "Mary Sue." Other than that she's a decent person.
"Do it." - Lord Dread, Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future.
The monitor behind Alan looks like an Oreo package.
Make it stop! Disney is killing SW.
