Till writes his lyrics about all kinds of love. Very normal but also very perverse forms. That doesn't mean he's into all of that himself. For the video, he had a hole pierced in his cheek to insert the cable for the mouth light. One of the band members said he later had fun squirting his drinks out through the hole. During the live performances, the cable went through the corner of his mouth, and the hole was closed again.
How is it that Rammstein could create a song that is disgusting and violent, yet still be emotional and sensual? The delivery of the chorus, “I hurt you, I’m not sorry,” somehow gives me internal tears. I have no clue why.

Only German native speakers can understand the dark word plays and get how evil this song really is. It's a horror story. If a guy like the one talking in the lyrics gets you into his hands, the gates of Hell will open for you. No empathy, no human feelings, just lust for torture. Maybe the "Hostel" movies come close to the topic.

Aside from Du Hast, this was my very first Rammstein song. I remember singing along to it, even though I had no clue what the song was about back then (this was before I took German lessons in college). Still one of my favorites to this day - simple, not too complex, but very catchy and melodic! Hoping for this one to be on the setlist in Chicago 🤘
