I was fortunate to find a dealer who let me order exactly what I wanted and I even got to choose the "port/distributor" installed options too. I added the Tech Package and LED headlights from the factory and from the distribution center I opted for the slider type rocker protection bars, and the auto lock tailgate. The whole process only took three weeks because the dealer was able to get my truck from Toyota on their first attempt with the "dealer preference" request. Anyhow, my question for you is...How do you guys there at your dealership install the extra USB ports on the back of the console? What part do you buy from Toyota and how does it hook into the truck's harness/wiring? Thanks for your channel, I really enjoy it!
Your truck should have had them from the factory, my 21 did, my buds 19 sport, a coworkers 17 offroad and another coworkers 18sport did. Unless toyota stopped with the 22's because of lack of parts. Also those rear cubbies should be in all of the DCSB's in SR5 and above.

Does MTM incorporate PVM but also includes an additional camera or two for lower level viewing?

You are much better off getting the sport or sr5 with 4x4 and putting aftermarket lockers in it that are far better than the toyota locker that only engages in 4LO which is super lame. I have a 2014 sport 4x4 with an after market eaton e locker that is selectable in 2HI 4HI and 4LO and I never had to pay the premium price for the hype of the TRD OR.
So up until reading your comment I never even thought that adding lockers was a possibility. I'm not very vehicle handy but just knowing this is possible is extremely helpful. I just put a down payment down on a Sport but was having second thoughts. I don't do aggressive off road trails but didn't want to limit the possibility by getting a sport and then not having the OR tools. Knowing that I could potentially add this later is awesome. So I will stick with the Sport and plan on adding a more aggressive tire for now. I can't imagine that I will regret the decision.

If you must have them, use a 21 or previous VIN and order the USB plug, harness extension and center console.
@@asymsolutions Thank you! One needs to order a new center console too to add these?
@@thecritter5589 well you could cut yours open, and then jb weld the usb ports in.
Or just going for the parts designed for a monkey to be able to put it together and look goof
Which one would you pick, Tacoma or Camry?
Jeff can you shed any light on what the hold up is with the Tacoma TRD Pro & Trail Edition??? Why are all the other trims available and these are not???
Love your reviews Jeff! Please answer the following questions. When ordering a 2022 Off Road, does the Advanced Technology Package (AT) include Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)? Most dealers just order the Technology Package for their dealer stock because the description for the package clearly states Blind Spot Monitor and the Advanced Technology Package does not. Also, what is the difference between the Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM) and the Panoramic View Monitor (PVM)? Does MTM incorporate PVM but also includes an additional camera or two for lower level viewing?
Good luck with getting an answer
I'd rather have a 2 wheel drive Tacoma truck with a locking rear differential and a manual transmission. Than a 4x4 Tacoma truck with an automatic transmission
4 cylinder or 6 cylinder
Hood scoop + color match fenders = TRD Sport for the win.
Neither, get an SR5 unless you’re doing serious off-roading
SR5 with four wheel drive. Even better. All you need. I have an Off-Road and must admit, even though I do go on road trips taking me into mountain dirt roads,.....I over bought.
@@samfromalbuquerque7235 Good to know. I’m trying to figure which one to get. I know lots of guys that don’t use all the gadgetry of the OR, but that locker does seem nice.
Sold my 19 sr5 to upgrade to the trd off road, just always wanted the trd but to each their own.
I would totally buy a truck from this guy
i like the way you showed your video...quite funny
All the extra noises he makes is triggering the "please stop dad" center of my brain. It's good, because its bad. XD
Jeff - I think there is something wrong with your medulla oblongatah! Question - what Taco models can you get Softex seats in?
I love your Waterboy reference!!!! I don’t think any trims come standard with softex. It’s either fabric or leather
@@Toyotajeff Jeff the Premium option/trim in the Tacoma/4Runner both have Softex. The Limited’s have leather.
Jeff called me cause I'm BUYING from YOU !!!!!!
When you look up the price it says 26k why does the msrp mark up another 10k
Can you please go over the differences between the Corolla LE and Corolla SE?
Yes that’s a great video idea! I’ve done in the past but I will do an updated one when I get both of them together
Why not compare the two trim with almost similar features, like both 4x4, both stock wheels/tires? I want to know their comparison so that I can decide which one should I choose because right now I'm still trying to figure out which one should I buy. That's why I keep searching on youtube.
Love the vid! Does the remote start come with both the Sport and Off Road at a base level, or is that part of an added package?
You price is the best!!!! my truck is 2021 trd off road 4x4 my price was $45000 plus Tax just bought this week tax. 2022 price $50000 plus tax here Ventura country ca 🤭
Everywhere Toyota dealer price 2022 is $50000 plus tax
I paid 45.5
You are much better off getting the sport or sr5 with 4x4 and putting aftermarket lockers in it that are far better than the toyota locker that only engages in 4LO which is super lame. I have a 2014 sport 4x4 with an after market eaton e locker that is selectable in 2HI 4HI and 4LO and I never had to pay the premium price for the hype of the TRD OR.
Heck ya thanks for this comment great stuff and that TRD Sport just looks 🔥 over the OR IMO! Hands down sport wins my pick!
@@stevenjoseph8980 Yes, you can go to any offroad shop they will have what you need. ARB offroad and Eaton Detroit make lockers that fit the 3rd gen sport models and they are both very good.
@@sonysoyboysaremadeoftears.7404 Thanks for info man.
@@stevenjoseph8980 Yea man no worries, and the good thing about an aftermarket locker is you can use it in any mode 2wd 4hi and 4lo the TRD offroad is only usable in 4lo so having an aftermarket locker gives you more options on the trail, that is why I think going aftermarket with a locker in an SR5 or Sport is better than buying a offroad or pro.
What option do you need to add to get the remote start ?
4x4
big fan of the Tacoma TRD Pro! love these trucks!
Good Video for Both Trucks.. Humorous Good
Can I get the xp predator package on a 2022 4x4 TRd sport or only 2x4?
I got trd sport a week ago and it has 2x4 or 4x4 hi and 4x4 low
Antiquated engine and WAY over priced due to the pandemic! It baffles me that these 2 trucks will be well over $40,000 when all is said and done! I'll pass until the 4th gen or redesign of the Tacoma
All trucks are overpriced!
What other truck is less expensive for the same amount of truck you are getting?
but at least when the bubble bursts, the tacoma will be above the water compared to its relative competitors
I 🤡 guys driving 4x4 living So Cal . I did my homework I got a TRD Sports 4x2. Faster , tow more cap , less weight , low maintenance, cheaper insurance and daily driver . I don’t thinks it’s going to snow ❄️ near Disneyland . Lol
4x4 for live and forever.thanks Jeff very very specific the video🤟
2022 look more lifting compared with the 2021
The seldom 2WD TRD off-road is the best
Ah yes, everyone wants a 2WD to go off roading in 😂
Lots of TRD Off Road’s here in Honolulu w/o 4x4
Seems backwards to put those tires on the 2wd Sport. Toyota 4wd have always come with horrible tires.
Im ready to get may toyota sport lunar stick
Hood scoop in sport trim no longer available on 2022 in Canada ???
this dude is so funny😂
