Hey everyone thanks for watching the gameplay for this one was done early this year I was saving it for Disney December but this year I changed things up a bit for December but figured this would be a nice bonus while I am still working on the Links Awakening and Sonic 3 and Knuckles Knuckles run videos.
CornshaqGaming I was just wondering, do you have any advice for someone like me who plays games on PS4 for UA-cam for a living? I’m trying to do this for UA-cam since I’m unable to have a job due to seizures and I wanna maybe one day earn any kind of notoriety
CornshaqGaming Just curious, is there a reason you've never done the Wizards and Warriors series on the NES? Also, do you ever plan on continuing the Wario Land PiTs? Anyways, thanks for the vid!
Just haven't gotten around to them yet part of the reason is I was never very good at Wizards and Warriors 1 but I love Iron Sword I have beaten it a ton could have done a video years ago for that but held off since I should do them in order. Also yes I plan to do Wario Land 3 in the future just doing 100 percent of that is not a easy task to memorize.
The story ends with Simba running away from all responsibilities. The end scene is a futile reminder to Simba of the power he has, but chooses not to pursue.
FUN FACT: There was actually a unique music track for the stampede level. It’s even in the game’s code. But they didn’t program it on correctly. They literally gave zero shits porting this game 😂
This was so lazily made they didn't even bother on converting the graphics from GB format to NES format, instead just they just programmed a converter that does it on the fly
Ive finished this game a dozen or more times in the hopes i would somehow figure out the last (few) level(s) and how to access them, the original box it was in had pictures on the back of a map that was not accessible in the game itself, and i expected to eventually fight scar, which never happened,... i was so disappointed,...
When LK came out in June 1994 the NES in america was on the way out so when the game was released on SNES and Genesis in december 94 the NES released Warios woods as last game then LK came to NES overseas the following year
Damn. I really feel bad for our European friends who actually got either the NES version of the Aladdin game or the Lion King game or both. Quoting the AVGN WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!!!!
Aladdin is probably not a bad game (haven't played it myself) - unlike this one, which feels more like an unfinished alpha rather than a real game.... At least Aladdin got beautiful graphics and favorable reviews.
I have this game and used to play it as a kid in the '90s. I have lost count of the times I have played this game through the end - luckily it is much easier than the SNES version, which at the time I didn't know even existed - thinking that I was getting a "bad ending." So, I would play it again trying to kill every enemy or collecting every bug because I thought that maybe in that way I would be able to pass through the Hakuna Matata level and get to some following levels - they had to be there, tight? - and the "good ending." Even as a kid, it made zero sense to me that the game would end like this and the final boss be the ape. Why!? So frustrating! The only thing I would save about this game is the music. This is maybe the only NES game I have ever regretted buying. I didn't. own a SNES, so I discovered the truth about this game only many many many years later here on YT.
Can you actually get the 1up right before the Hakuna Matata stage starts at 9:21? It looks like it's almost off screen at the bottom, so I don't see how you can reach it.
Then again, for it to not have Adult Simba levels or even Scar, this feels more like a tech demo that Nintendo of Europe basically decided to say screw it and slapped their seal of quality on it.
As for the Super Games version, it's not great, and the Hakuna Matata level is more frustrating in particular, but at least there is a beginning and end. It's still only five platforming levels, but you do get a couple of adult Simba levels, including the final battle with Scar. The Stampede level is gone, which who cares, but you still get the bug catching mini game. The graphics and the music are also better. I don't remember how much better the super games gameplay is compared to the official one, but just about everything else is better.
I feel like they didn't even try with this one. I mean Kirby's Adventure is a late title for the NES and it has WAY beet animations and over all looks way better. It also runs better then this too. Lazy programing I would say.
I have to agree. It's like Virgin decided to release this game as it (unfinished) in a desperate attempt to beat the buzzer that would signal the end of the NES's life cycle and make money off a license.
I wonder why's that? Aladdin has great graphics and got favorable reviews. This game is not even really a game imo, it's more of an alpha. It's actually a port from the Game Boy version...
Never played this game before, but it was the last NES game which was released in Europe in the PAL format. The last official NES game in the US was “Wario’s Woods” in late 1994 or early 1995, and it was a fun puzzle game, and it was later ported onto the Super Nintendo. And also the last unlicensed NES game was “Sunday Funday” that has a religious version of “Menace Beach”, along with two games like the one that catches the fish, and a karaoke one.
I think the game isnt bad. It is a SNES game on the NES so of course it isnt beautiful. Only the fact that it is just the first half of the movie is really bad xD
@@amso7169 Im sure you are thinking of some other game... Alladdin on the NES has good graphics for the system. The first stage on Lion King is not that bad actually, but it gets way worse from that...

And I love your videos
Thanks for the upload Corn, absolutely hate the Mane Event.. SOOOO many random deaths because the platforming was non existant in the stage. D:

fecman94Playthroughs where can I hear it??
Cutting Room Floor, Zophar's Domain or the game's NSF, my dude
mrnorbert1994.uw.hu/
You can listen it here, because the NSF rips for this game is incomplete everywhere.

The bats are actually vultures in the Elephant Graveyard level. But poorly drawn.

Fender178 I'd love to see AVGN review this game and some disney games

The Stampede level could be a Atari 2600 game all by itself.
You said a similar thing on another Lion King NES video
bootleg developers made better version, thanks for video
The bootleg versions of this and Aladdin are better then the real ones.
didn't tat one have the game over where simba hangs himself?
yes or it was bootleg for Mega Drive
Bootleg version of The Lion King is pretty good I enjoyed it as a kid.
32-Bit Sam
There are multiple versions, this guy is referring to the one by Super Game.

Maybe you can hang on the ledge to get it?
This is like a full blown game boy color game, honestly.

God, Pumba looks terrifying in this game.

I think you mentioned "vultures".
It's like they didn't even try with a lot of the graphics.
About 11 minutes to beat the game... is this your shortest "play it through"?
Nope.
WAIT, THIS IS NOT A BOOTLEG?? OOhhh.... Ooh... Oh.. geez.
+Welfz Twingo Furs yep lol
Techincally this game can be considered in some forms as a bootleg because, the developer team stole David Whittaker's audio driver for this game.
+MrNorbert1994 Holy fuck, this game.. this game sure is something... something that ain't good...
@@MrNorbert1994 It's the last officially released and licensed Nintendo NES game.
The SNES version of this game is actually really good :) Its super hard though :p lol
Genesis is better
Did you know that the back of the box says this game has 10 levels?
I prefer this game to Aladdin though (it's still bad of course).
I wonder why's that? Aladdin has great graphics and got favorable reviews. This game is not even really a game imo, it's more of an alpha. It's actually a port from the Game Boy version...
Wait... Does this version have the suicides?
EDIT: Nah. This is different. Sorry.
No that is one of the bootlegs
I also like the USA cover of the game, I made a sticker for my car
the cover art of the game looked scary but kinda cool at the same time
@@TheDarkwingj not so much

Those backgrounds are the worst I've ever seen in any NES game. Good lord this was a lazy port.
Yep, this... is bad. Really really bad. And the Game Boy version isn't very good either, but at least it isn't half the f*cking game!!
Probably An NES Port Of SNES Original. Also, Disney Sucks, IMO.
Not bad graphics snes version best of all time
It's bad graphics man. Just compare this to the Aladdin on the NES, which has actually decent graphics.
Sc0pee
Aladdin on NES also has bad graphics, in fact graphic wise it’s like this
@@amso7169 Im sure you are thinking of some other game... Alladdin on the NES has good graphics for the system. The first stage on Lion King is not that bad actually, but it gets way worse from that...
I remembered this was prettier.... but it's ugly af :D
