29:40 ..... i never knew about the floor!!!! I always carried the ice beam to be able to freeze one of those jumping buggers them would try to time a bomb roll off of it to get over the barrier. The hours I spent here....if only I'd known about that floor in 1987 LOL !!!
I remember this game, and I still fondly remembered it as probably the best NES game ever made. I played it for hours and hours for years and it is truly the best game ever.
Thank you! I was never able to figure this game out to beat it! I got to so many areas but never did it 'right' so that I could beat it! I love your videos and commentary. Hope the ads that ran can get your channel some funds so you can keep it up! I love the old nes videos you do. So excited that I got to see this.
Top form as ever Mr.Shaq miss being an active member of your community. I still think you are vastly underappreciated mainly because you had morals and refused to sell your soul for likes.
This was the first ever NES game to have a playthrough. Not on UA-cam though. It was a contest to see who could beat it the fastest and naturally and was a playable NESticle movie.
You did an awesome job as always. Keep on playing and I will keep on watching. You must really have had many a day to play with your games as a UA-cam content maker. Your videos are inspiring to watch and learn from. You also have a very calm voice and friendly personality to make these videos on UA-cam!
Agreed. The lack of a map also makes it impossible to know where you are supposed to go next, and what upgrades are needed to make any progress. Following a guide (like this one) is the only way to make this game even remotely fun. Thankfully the Zero Mission remake fixes all of these problems, with save rooms and weapon/energy recharge stations making it far more enjoyable to play.
Wow this was very entertaining and informative !!! I loved this game as a child and I still do. This was very hard for me as there was no real map to really see where you had to go or haven't gone. This game is definitely on my top 5 NES games !
I remember asking you to do this one some months ago- glad to see it here with commentary! I find I particularly prefer your play throughs and thoughts on the black box era games. Ahh, it is Christmas afterall!
Metroid the twin sister of Kid Icarus, Metroid it was one of those games that was so hard for me as a kid but as I got older I grew to love it more I especially love that surprise at the end where is revealed that Samus is a girl that was a shocker for me and my friends
My hat's off to ya. I didn't think this was possible. Every item in the game in under an hour. I normally speed run this getting as little as possible. I'm going to try doing this now minus the 7th and 8th e-tank. Don't need those.
I would've loved to have seen a PIT video on Super Metroid. Unfortunately, Corn has retired from posting gaming content on YT and has gone onto other things...
I think you are supposed to take Ridley out first in this. His difficulty is real low and his area's easy to navigate. I normally do Kraid first but I've done it this way too.
wonderful breakdown of everything as well as cool facts on the game
finaly corn i waited for it for 4 years then 3 tears after zelda and know 2 years i was fecked up for waiting and thank you so much

+Jennifer Lathroum Thanks glad you enjoy the videos and super thanks for watching some of the ad's it means a lot :)
CornshaqGaming I know I'm a nerd, but getting a response from you was so exciting! Thanks again.
+Jennifer Lathroum lol no problem glad I could make your day a bit better.
I recommend getting the Long Beam sooner, rather than later. It can make Ridley's Lair less obnoxious once you have the Wave Beam.
Great job Corn, thanks for giving me a video to watch tonight while I prep for work!

AWESOME vid! Love the commentary and story bits to keep us interested. :)
Will watch more of these vids.

I find this game to be unplyable :-( dying and coming back with 30% health at best, and 4% health near endgame is an exercise in tedium.

OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!
I've been wanting this for a long time!!!!!
My thoughts exactly!

Awesome!! Thank you so much Corn, this is one of my favorites for the NES and a very helpful walkthrough
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
So glad this was made Corn thank you so much! I know myself along many others asked for this for years, a perfect guide how to beat Metroid
Thank you so much hope you enjoyed it :)
Good Job Corn also Btw the mines that come out of the Morph Ball are called Bombs not mines

And the step bro Castlevania. Those 3 games were the Perfect combo
Least 4-5 hours sounds about right for when the game was first released.
Are you kidding it took months. Things wernt so obvious back then
The word of the day is = "Kinda"
Have you ever thought of playing through Super Metroid?
Great Skills Corny 🤜🤛 👍👍👍

Ah yes, I was wondering when you'd play through the original Metroid
Is this run tool assisted? If not, can anyone explain the absent hitbox at 4:35? ~Pauli E. Prince
I can imagine this run took hours and hours to get this run down. This was a great run still.
+newstarcadefan thanks and yeah about a year or so off and on of practice runs.
any plans for a super metroid play through? as always perfect play through!

well played
Underated
Is Nintendo giving u a hard time with this video? I️ heard they do that.
+Djclyve they do with Mario and Zelda not as much with the other franchises
NAR=North American Release
i like the game! but the jumping is very horrible and the jelly fish metroids that kill you is a annoying glitch,
:D
