I LOVE both. I have just discovered her 8 months ago. The first version of The Seed I had seen was the studio version and the second song I had ever heard of hers. So it had a HUGE impact on my instant attraction to her. The live Haik version I found later and is such a sweat discovery because after months of constant intentional pursuit of more I had seen this and learned that this entire Haik was a surprise to her which allows us to be bystanders watching her be filled with the same happiness she gives us

If nature and animals could speak this is what they would be saying in this song. Aurora is a voice for mother nature and the planet itself. She is perfectly in tune with the world and nature and she understands our world is so precious and in need of help.

The backup singer is the fantastic Silja Sol, the same as at the current :-) Silja has been with Aurora a long time....

The benefits of the studio versions is that they have more instruments and more sound effects, and they are probably what you want on your phone or in your car.
The benefits of the live versions are that with a more stripped down version, it can often be more emotional, and you really get to see and hear the skill of Aurora and her band in a live setting, and the most important benefit is that you get to watch Aurora sing and completely immerse herself in her music. She explained that herself in an interview:
""...because I have so much energy when I sing, and I can feel like, you know. It comes from like a different place, like from the place of music, if it's....you know, this divine place. I get like, I get too much energy for my tiny human shape." "

I love the way Aurora re-packages her songs into different versions. For a different vibe of this song, see her NatGeo Earth Day Eve 2021 performance.

Regarding another song "Apple Tree" Aurora said in an interview:
"In a bleeding world the power of the individual is our only hope. The world won’t listen to scientific proof that the world is dying, so maybe it will listen to the dreamers, the children. In a bleeding world the power of the individual is our only hope. Let her save the world. Let him save them all.
Believe in us, and maybe we’ll be the generation that saves the world, rather than the one that killed it. The world is bleeding. It’s up to us now."

If you want something special: Why did you have to go
    ua-cam.com/video/3n-dMxbIqJA/v-deo.html
Auroras school friend was killed in a car crash, just 18 years old. Aurora was asked to sing in her funeral, and on short notice she made this song.
The song was so beautiful, so the girl parents asked her if she could "tape it" for them, so she made this "demo" to them.
The girls mother put it on facebook, and the song spread. Many people reached out to them and said that the song help them, so they just let it spread.
So if you want to listen to a song that is ALL heart; here it is. There is only one version...

Great reaction again !! To me both are great versions of the song.... The off video are more FULL and anthem like, the Haik is in her childhood woods with the male choir surprisingly joining in. Aurora's interaction with the choir and crowd are.... This is not an artist that sings a song... this is an artist that LOVES it !!!!!!!!! Both masterpieces in my book. :-)

This is a powerfull and important song! I really love the Lolapaloosa Brazil version, because it's one of the heavier live performances of this song. But all of them are great. As someone else mentioned, this is from a tv show, and Aurora didnt know that the choir was there. The premis of the show is that the tv-host pick up one famous Norwegian artist in her car, in each episode. Then they ride around to places where there's surprises waiting for the artist. The only thing the artist know is that they have to perform a concert at the end. But they dont know where. Another great reaction 😊👍Hope to see more Aurora.

Really nice reaction once again! I’m with you on this one, the studio version has that fuller sound which is awesome. She’s performed this live so many ways: just her and the keyboard for Greenpeace, her and the Bergen orchestra, an acoustic version, and most recently her and the band in this same forest for National Geographic as part of Earth Day. I’d suggest for next reactions:
A Different Kind of Human studio version and live at Christines Radiofestival
Lucky studio version and live at Nidarosdomen

I really like the two version concept you do of a song! It gives you much more content
and different sides of the same song. Please do more of them.
Thank you for mentioning my name. I am so glad to be a part in you discovering new music
and artist. Through you I do too!!!
    On to the next one!

Awesome content. Love when people do Aurora justice in their reactions. 😊 you point out significant stuff. By the way: I tend towards the live performances but not exclusively. It depends on the song. Also the live performances vary themselves so some of them I like better than the studio versions and some I don't. I for sure do love to *see* performe live. 😊

On life version she was surprised by this choir. You can see it on her face :).
BTW: For me it depends - some song I prefer live and some studio.

  • @renehoyvik

It's legal to prefer the studio version :)
What i love about her live is that you can listen to the same song in 5 different live settings and the performance will sound different each time. She lives her music :)
If you come from a rock background i really recommend "Under the Water" My favourite live performance is VEVOHalloween. Many prefer the Honda stage version, but her vocals were damaged during the Halloween one, and it just really fits the genre she is dabbling with in that song! :D

I voted for the studio version. But not because live is worse. But on the contrary. Both versions are great without reservation. But you have to choose between the male choir from the live performance and the more "rocky" version in the official video. That is the point. The studio version has more punsh. Performing live, however, is priceless. There are no better or worse versions of Aurora, just different ones. The male choir in the live version was a surprise for Aurora. She didn't know anything about it. 😁
But I also prefer their live performances in other ways. Aurora is also a very good performer and everything is more real.

Ok. I I would be really interested if you prefer the studio or live version of All Is Soft Inside. Live version at KEXP (in Iceland not the other one :-)). The whole KEXP Iceland concert is amazing (Björk was in the audience adding an extra pizazz to the performance I thin). Many thanks for the reaction.

I am absolutely up for comparisons. For ,e there's no "best version", they are different expressions of the same thought. I love the way she does the big build-up for the last refrain vocally in the Haik concert, using her own power. The MV on the other hand is powerful in its images.

Mother earth has used billions of years to create its beaty, but humans has used only 220 years to destroy it so much that we are now talking about a crisis that, in the worst case, could wipe out humanity. Let this sink in! Congratulations Aurora you have made a masterpiece that is super relevant until we fix the climate and sea polution problem!

  • @updlate4756

IMO, the song isn't crying out to nature; she's essentially performing a rain dance, or an impassioned (even desperate) spiritual singing / crying out / dancing prayer to the sky gods to implore them to make it rain... except it's not rain she's after, and it's not the sky God she's asking. Many of her songs portray humans as the real Gods. She's essentially praying to humanity to change on the behalf of nature, and so she's also showing a collage of the natural beauty of nature, its scale, its power, its inner workings, contrasted against what humans are doing (factories, roads, cars) and what we could do (windmills). It's an angry song, but it's also inspiring hope by showing the amount of passion she and others (activists / protesters / environmentalists) can generate. She's saying we need to change, many of us are willing to change, many of us are taking steps to change, there's still hope left, but we all need to play our part.
8:50 Not only do concrete roads take away from the environment's ability to absorb water, they segregate human populations and various demographics of people, they hamper animals from traveling, they're responsible for devastating insect populations which absolutely has impacts up the food chain, and they generate a MASSIVE amount of CO2 during production of the concrete and steel, but also from the construction. Constructing a single lane over a mile may generate as much as 3,500 tons of emissions. Some highways are 4 lanes for each direction, plus 4 shoulders... so 12 lanes. A single mile of 12 lanes would generate 42,000 tons of CO2, or 84 million pounds. The more lanes of traffic they add, the more drivers will use it; populations will grow or spread out. For each mile of highway laid down, there are estimates that over a 50 year period, between the construction and use of the road, it'll generate between 116,500 and 186,500 tons for each lane. Excluding the shoulders and only counting the 8 lanes, that's 932,000 - 1.5 million tons of CO2 for every mile of highway (8 lanes) over 50 years. In pounds, that's 1.8 - 3 billion pounds of CO2. Every single mile.
Another fun fact, a gallon of gas weighs 6 lbs, but burning that gallon generates 20 lbs of CO2 (carbon combines with oxygen to combust) as well as emits loads of Nitrogen into the air, which combines with Oxygen to create Nitrous Oxide. NOx pollution is responsible for smog, and is one of the worst air irritants for our lungs, often cited as being a big reason for people developing asthma and other lung issues.
Yet here we are, producing more and more roads every single year to fit more and more cars on them.
It's 2022... studies have shown that 4 day work weeks do wonders for productivity and mental health... but they don't point out that it leads to every single person driving to work one less day. Less gas burned. For those of us who work in offices, we could easily work from home either permanently, or 1 or more days per week... thus removing more days from our commutes. Remove enough drivers from the roads every day, and eventually we can start reducing the sizes of our highways. For those that have to drive, is it really so hard to drive the speed limit? Every day I drive to work doing 70 mph, the speed limit, only to have hundreds of cars pass me doing 75-85 mph. If your commute is 15 miles one way, then the time difference between driving 70 mph and 80 mph is less than 2 minutes. For those who are really upset gas prices are so high, the difference in fuel economy between 70 mph and 80 mph is about 10%. You're spending 10% more on gas to save less than 2 minutes each way.
A bit thing we could do to reduce emissions is shrink number of lanes, and install protected bike lanes so that those who are able and willing can bike to work, removing nearly our entire carbon emissions from commuting. I know so many people in my area that would love to bike to work but can't because our cities and roads were designed specifically for cars, and trying to ride your bike is not only treacherous, but takes forever since you have to stay on sidewalks, and you have to deal with all off the traffic at intersections and driveways, where sleepy inattentive people are really trying to kill you. Unintentionally of course... most of the time. Have you ever seen a driver road rage at a bike rider who's legally biking in the street, getting as close as possible to pass them, or a driver impatiently trying to zoom past the biker when it isn't safe? So many bikers die every year because our government refuses to protect them.
Don't even get me started on flying, cruise ships, and the military's MASSIVE carbon footprints.
The world can and needs to change. The question is what are you willing to do to change it? No one is saying each of us has to drop our carbon footprint by 50%+ on day one. No one is telling us to tell other people what to do. We individuals only have complete control over ourselves... but by making our own changes and sharing our stories about those changes to others and explaining how they impact our lives (usually minimallyt), we can be role models for our families and social groups, and we can inspire change in others. Then maybe our peers will spread the word as well. We can all be teachers if we want to be.
