I'm 40, but in my teens and early 20's, I remember being so frustrated with the lack of care for the planet, especially the lack of care for the other species on the planet. People just didn't care, and if you did, you were the odd one. It was really infuriating, and I think I lost faith in humanity for a very long time. I found Aurora 6 years ago, and she has renewed my hope for the future in a way. She's delivers her message in such a beautiful and impactful way. I have yet to see someone come away from this video without really thinking about the reality we face if we don't try to be better.
Yeah, I wouldn't say I have much hope that humanity will do what it should, but perhaps we the warriors and weirdos might find some peace, gathered around this ray of sunshine, together in her Queendom.
Great choice, and thanks to Dave! 👍🌱🤟 She has performed this song at least twice in the forest, once for the fantastic HAIK documentary + concert, and once a special performance for Earth Day a couple years or so ago. She has a brand-new song called "A Soul with No King - Remix" that features nature sounds. An artist called NATURE was created to serve as a featured artist, with at least 50% of all royalties from the song (and songs from other artists doing the same thing) going to this environmental organization. Similarly, all her new singles are co-written by "The Earth," with songwriting royalties also going directly to this cause. What's really cool is that "A Soul with No King" is not just something she slapped together quickly for the cause. It's actually a fantastic song (even kind of proggy, which you'll appreciate). Many Aurora fans are calling it one of the best things she's ever done.
Here is a quote from Aurora about "The Seed": ""I'm missing anger in the youth. Not the blind rage, pointed towards all and nothing. But the kind of rage that wakes you up in the morning, the kind of rage that inspires you to do something with the power you have in you. So I made a song. Filled with fire. And power. It's time for us to really fight for her. This is a cry for Mother Earth."" And here is a quote about her other song "Apple Tree", which describes her hope for the younger generation: "We can all save the world if we put our minds to it. The world won’t listen to scientific proof that the world is dying, so maybe it will listen to the dreamers, the children. In a bleeding world the power of the individual is our only hope. Let her save the world. Let him save them all. Believe in us, and maybe we’ll be the generation that saves the world, rather than the one that killed it. The world is bleeding. It’s up to us now."
you should check her newest song, co-written by nature. it's called 'a soul with no king', another good one: 'soulless creatures' with the bergen philharmonics. in the song 'daydreamer' she sings: "I know I'm just a girl But can I change lives? If I am nothing, if I am trying, I think I can"
I just listened to your commentary, and want to say thanks for helping make the world a better place. PIcking up around the hood is something I have done for exercise and to satisfy my artist's eye for decades now. I will be following Aurora. Greta Thunberg came to Charlotte and I got to see her and record her, although we didn't talk or dance or anything. The Michael Franti song is exactly about people taking it upon themselves to make the world a better place. You would relate. Peace and love!
Listening to Aurora is like listening to an angelic voice from heaven. is also the best ever for me. and this song is nothing more and less than the ultimate climate anthem
I love Aurora and The Seed as well as all music she has made. The message in this song is so important. I believe that small but continuous steps towards the better are key. Change that happens slowly usually is the most permanent. However, given the situation we are in now, slow steps are insufficient. But revolutions easily tend towards the other extreme. Not necessarily bad, tho. Thanks!
Alright....and....this is Aurora, featuring Nature....who else could come up with such an accomplishment and put it out for us to feel? ("hit me hard where I am soft" she sings in one of her late releases, Some Type of Skin).........This also came out a few days ago ua-cam.com/video/p8gtGg83LRY/v-deo.html Spreading the word would be good enough for starters and our crowd is getting larger by the hour no one is alone any more Voice is rising more volume please... Txs Aurora for being here for us.....
Great reaction. If you like songs about such topics, I really recommend song "Kowarete Iku Sekai" (which means "Broken world") by japanese band Girugämesh, official music video, you can find it on UA-cam with great english translation, not official, but fans did amazing job, like always when it comes to translating japanese music. This song squeezing my heart every time I'm listen to it, even if I know it since so many years... I don't know if you taking requests from comments, it's my first time on your channel, but if yes, then please, such songs should be heard by more people. But if not, then listen to it by yourself if you want.
@@Dave-hb7lx Hi. I'm glad you like this song. About music video, it's song from 2007, so music video have some years already, they didn't have the same capabilities as Aurora and it's completely different type of music, but I love it too, it's rough and fits perfectly to the song.
Here is Aurora, again, standing up and speaking loud about something that concerns us all, violence and abuse, happening right now, maybe happening so far away that we are not aware of the pain and misery nowadays.....and yes......cease fire she shouts------------ And she still is the beautiful being we know as Aurora, sharing all that Love, Magic and Goodness check it out from last Feb 2024 live in the UK she's unique! ua-cam.com/video/KYHnGJn5zJM/v-deo.html
Daves are cool, thanks Dave. I did know a boy who ate a penny once, on a dare, so someone should contact the singer's fact-checker and give the update. That said...I am exuberant to see and hear this breakout masterpiece. Is new? I was reminded of MJ's "Earth Song" and "Heal the World" and Michael Franti's timely "The World Is so F*cked Up But I Ain't Never Giving Up"...but also Kate Bush and the Native-American treasure, Joanne Shenandoah, may she rest in peace. She shares my love of turning philosophy into song. Out the park, y'all! A Homer AND a Jethro!
@@Dave-hb7lx Tusen takk, Monsieur! (I guess that means thousand thanks in Norwegian.) I will get me some Gula Gula, and/or Mari Boine with dispatch...and inquire as to the exit source of said coin. Dave to Dave...all the best!

I think Brian Eno was somehow involved in the production of "A Soul..".
Should be a sign of quality.
@@erik5820 Yeah, I think he's primarily responsible for the remix.
oh how this woman touches the soul..discovered her in 2019 and what a ride it is..watch her video for new song "some kind of skin" love you two,Kent.
I always love her vocal layering she does mostly in her songs, really great.

The earth is strong and resilient, and will be here long after we're gone, but while we're here, we should be good stewards of her.

You should have done the live version where she does it in the Woods by her home in Norway for Earth Day it says
Hi, great video, maybe you should vonsider to do a short Peter Gabriel track called Down to Earth! Great song to this topic
