Kallax shelves are amazing for LP/laserdisc storage. The larger 4 by 4 cube or 5 by 5 cube versions are quite heavy, but they are very well made and each cube can contain between 70 and 80 LP's, so they are essential for any hardcore vinyl collectors.
I have over 4000+ albums on a Kalax 4x4(16). One suggestion, place your Kalax(if it's one of the big ones) where the long shelves are horizontal, and the short shelves are vertical. It carries the load better than on the 4 dowels on each side of the shelf. The shelf will work either way, I do it for a little extra peace of mind. I've had a lot of shelves in the past do all sorts of things because of the load of my records(and books). The shelves are short, that's what I like about this shelf design the most.
These Kallax shelves are so great! Some months ago I moved to a bigger room and immediately upgraded from two small shelves of records to one of these with all the audio gear on top, I love it!
I have used similar shelves (not for storing records or laserdiscs) and they seem like they would be strong enough. Real wood would definitely be better.
I agree with you. Buying those shelving are stupid and a waste of money. I would never stack anything that high. I myself built my own and I call them room dividers. And they are 8 feet long and 13 inches in height. I only stack 2 together with milk cartons of 3 off the ground. One on each end and one in the middle underneath. So that's about 40 inches in height. And those milk cartons can hold the weight easy. And who doesn't like the smell of real wood? Better than those cancer pieces of crap. And I am a vinyl collector and CD collector. Vinyl is my life. Over 3,000 of them. Have over 2,000 CDs. At my last job they were going to throw away all these bookcases (real wood). But I grab them all (9 each). And these cost some bucks. Took me 2 days to haul them in my truck to take home. All my CDs are all put away in those bookcases. In order of course like my vinyl. Thanks for reading my comment (from 976-CRELOEMAN).
Just as an fyi to you and everyone in the comments, you can get the same exact 2x4 shelves for $68 from walmart which is more than half the price of these ikea shelves. I know everyone has different opinions on walmart but just throwing that out there.
I got a 2x2 (which I filled up as soon as I assembled it) then a 3x3 from Walmart. Now I need a 4x4 for all my 78's. 50 pounds of vinyl in each cube and it has no problem holding that much.
I have thousands, so my albums, 12" singles and 7" singles are dated and all are separated by decades, then alphabetically by artists. Library starts with opera & classical, then really begins NEATLY at the 1940s, 1950s, and every decade to August, 2018, so organization for me is essential, and this for me is what works. Shelves, sturdy, wooden, handmade, sized for 7" 10" & 12" ~ Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
Hey, Jarrett! Even though this video is from a years ago, I recently came across it! I was looking up how to store my records since I was running out of space, and I had never considered, nor heard of, IKEA’s KALLAX shelves before finding this video! I got two units at a good price, and it’s been a perfect setup to store my records and to put my equipment on top! Thank you so much for the information and recommendation!
When deciding how best to fit out my new home office, I looked for shelving that would take my vinyl collection and I opted for the Kallax units as they were the least expensive option that would properly accommodate them. A lot of bookshelves aren't deep enough and I don't like having my records sticking out waiting to be bashed into. I got a 2x4 and a 1x4 in the white oak finish, a bit more expensive but worth it as they match the "sit to stand" desk that the lovely company I work for bought for me. A couple of things to note, though: 1) On the 2x4, the shelf running the length of the unit is actually four separate pieces held at each end by dowels. The shelves along the width are also only held by dowels, but are supported midway by the pieces running the length. In my engineering mind, this makes these pieces the better option for carrying the weight of vinyl, so using it vertically is probably better in the long run. I hope I explained it okay!! I believe the 4x4 and 5x5 models use a similar principle, so get the orientation right or your precious vinyl will be sat on what I would consider the weaker layout. 2) If you use one that stand 4 or more high, you ABSOLUTELY MUST brace it to the wall - they all come with anti-topple brackets, so use them. I don't care how flat or sturdy your floor is, because sooner or later you'll fall foul of the laws of physics and you're going to find yourself with a big old mess to contend with. And if you stack them, the same principle applies. As for the cool divider layout in the video, brace them to each other so they don't bow apart from each other, like they are in the shots in the video. You have been warned! 3) I don't know about what you get over in the States, but in the UK you can also buy these in 2x1 and 1x1 versions as well, which are great for building customised layouts in small spaces. And as stated above, brace them to each other if you do. Oh, and it's pronounced "kal-axe". Info from my daughter, who used to work at Ikea.
Walmart has similar units, 2x2 and 2x4, the latter selling for under $110CDN, white or black. What is most important is reinforcement, because plastic dowels in MDF particle board don’t do squat…1x3” plywood works well, and I have used angle rear angle brackets on shelf corners, 2”x3/8” 4-packs with screws from RONA.
currently building my own record shelf with a friend of mine. it's a great alternative that wasn't mentioned, especially if you know woodworking or at least somebody that can help you build it properly. mine will fit perfectly in my small room, match all my existing furniture, and hold all my records for years to come. vinyl eyezz, thank you for your insightful videos. they truly help beginners figure everything out. in regards to your last video however, please try to recognize when you may be wrong or inexperienced. that would tell me and other viewers you are at least listening/trying to improve yourself. cheers
Funny, I have a 50 year collection I've just been storing in boxes. Got back into the hobby in the past year and wanted something better. Didn't find any suggestions on UA-cam so did my own dudiligence. Most items were way beyond my budget. Then found the Kallax at Ikea. Perfect! Just waiting for them to go on sale. Doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon. So I'm ordering two 2x4s. Then I run across your presentation today. Funny!
Yes I have 4 2x4 been keeping my albums in them for 5 years now and I'm ready well really need to buy more ,,and that's a good tip for new vinyl people too
Again great advice jarrett storing ur records this way makes the room look very artistic and unique. I bet anyone who's lucky enough to be able to enter ur private Record Room could spend hours just looking and rambling thru ur collection and checking out the art work on all those 12"s of Waxx 😉 very organised. Done well Pal 🎧
As a swede I gotta "protest" some at the pronunciation of Kallax, but you're alright anyways. ;) Did you know Kallax is a rather small village in the north of Sweden? It lives just above 300 persons there. Fun trivia.
I love how people are using these shelves! However, I like more of a vintage vibe. Right now I'm using a wooden crate and a vinyl rack from the 70s, but those are nearly bursting 😦 Eventually I'd love to get a mid-century teak or walnut credenza and put more records in there.
Hello Vinyl Eyezz. Your videos are fantastic and fun to watch! They are informative, funny and helpful and this one is no exception. It's your insight that got me playing vinyl. Your videos have helped me and continue to. I am very glad that you work hard to make sure we can get good information. Keep making great videos and thank you for starting my vinyl and music journey.
I am going to be getting the 5x5. I am going to leave the top shelves open for my star wars toys. Ikea has some round LED lights with a double stick tape on the back so that you can light up your display without a bunch of wires all over.
In the 80s, I used milk creates (taken from the back of supermarkets) I’ve also used metal bakery shelves and for the last 15 years I’ve used the Expedit and now the Kallax’s. Sturdy, functional and in expensive. Kallax’s are by far the best solution. I also use them to store and display a large book collection.
Amazing! I have been looking for my vinyl storage solution for months. I didn’t check Ikea because I had bad luck in the past, but this seems to be getting good reviews so I am going to give it a try. The best is the many different size options that are made available. Great video as always!
Thanks bro only got 9 records started last year but since Christmas my collection has grown from 4 to 9 and I’m going out tomorrow to get more 😂 iv been watching heaps of ur vids and I don’t have much more space and this helped a lot.
You make wonderfully helpful videos and I'm a big fan. One suggestion.. You sometimes take quite a while to get to what you're trying to convey and as many of your viewers are insanely ADD, I think you'd get your point across (with more viewers) if you eliminated some of your longer intros. Other than that, keep up the awesomeness. You're a true asset to the community.
I use my Ikea desk for school and games and it fits with a shelf extension, if I remove the bottom self it makes a nice fit for my records, looks real nice next to my books too.
Cool, I use a vintage Scandinavian Designs shelf that was built for vinyl and turntables. Has a cool recessed area for the turntable and lots of ample space below for my vinyl!
I purchased the Threshold shelves that look just like these from Target. They are also very sturdy and can have "half shelves" added which I use to hold my cds as well.
These shelves were truly made for vinyl. I have a 5x5, a 2x4, and (4) 2x2s. I have moved a number of times and I rearrange my music room all the time and they have allowed me to do many different arrangements. If you going out to buy one of these and have a good chunk of records( like 1500+) I would recommend one thing (If I were going back to start all over)...I would have bought ALL 2x2s instead of the 5x5 or 2x4s. Since these shelves all stack so well having 6 2x2s as opposed to 1 5x5 will give you much more flexibility to move things around and make different arrangements as you need to. Maybe at one time you want one huge vinyl wall. At some later point you might want some records here and other over there. Having all 2x2, to me, gives you ore flexibility as you move around and as you rearrange you living room or bedroom. ...AND I'M STILL SHOCKED THAT IKEA HAS NOT COME OUT WITH SOME MECHANISM TO INSERT IN THE SHELF AS A BACK STOP FOR LPS AND BOOKS LOL. To me they are missing the boat. A cheap little plastic bar that would cost them 20 cents to make would be sold for 10 times that for each cubbie.
You know I recently hit the 100 record mark and I've completely filled up my bookshelf, which made me realize.. wow I really can't believe I've run out of room this fast. I've only been collecting vinyl for about 4 months and I'm just shocked that I've come this far in such little time. This video was really helpful, I'm going to try and invest in some money into new shelves for my vinyl.
With Ikea about 4 miles from me I was very tempted to go with the Kallax. After rethinking about my modest 300+ and very slow growing collection, I went with the lpbin as I prefer flipping thru my stuff. Sure it was about twice the price but it just looks pretty cool.
I'm currently using the better homes & gardens cube storage units, which work great for me so far. I have a 2x8 lying horizontally holding all my gaming system, games and controllers and a 2x2 for record and CD storage only downside if they can be flimsy if more than the weight of items is out on them, as they are not real wood, but if you don't lean or press on them they are great and are cheaper than Ikea. Just don't expect them to last forever.
Yes I use theses shelfs , they are awesome , I've bough 1by 6 and a 2 x 4 at a charity shop for £14 for the both , and I've have 3 x 2x2's which I bought from ikea , the best shelfs fir vinyl I know
I'm storing my LPs on a cheap put together metal shelf...my 45s are in a plastic bin I got for a buck....I recently got some more 78s....time for more shelves....thanks for the info!
another great alternative that's about $70 cheaper is targets threshold 13" cube organizer. they look exactly like the kallax ones and they're super easy to put together
Hi Jarrett, Please add a safety warning to have the Expedit or the newer Kallax mounted to the wall if it is a model that exceeds two levels up! You can find a lot of horror photo's on the net where cabinets that haven't been securely mounted to the wall collapsed due to the weight of the vinyl ("collapsed" is perhaps not the right word but I hope you get the general idea). Regards and keep up the good and interesting work!Edwin
The roblem isn't the shelves in most of those cases but instead the people who manages to install the shelves the wrong way! Please read the description before putting up the shelves.
I just bought a cheap little victrola stand for all of my records, it's just too one logs in a couple of metal rods but it keeps them nice and vertical.
How to make a Vinyl Eyezz video: 1: Talk with your hand for every second of the video. 2: Whenever you say, "In the description bellow," aggressively point down. 3: Sound like you are reading off of a script. 4: Make a smiling rape face in all of your thumbnails. 5: Over pronounce your intro.
you dont have to watch it if you dont like it, thats the amazing thing with personal preference and having the internet at your disposal, you can read/watch anything you like. so if you do not like it may i suggest watching something else
I agree with every point, but for some reason i still enjoy these videos. I would also add one more point: 6. Make videos on topics that are common sense in vinyl community and anyone can research with the most simple and basic google search.
that's actually kind of cool. I need to change my set up. But make it for my TV to. I went to Barns & Noble today and got two new records. Pentatonix and Frozen. Both really good albums.
I have the old Expedite (sp?) shelves and I bought them for both DVDs and records. All of mine are "Birch Effect". Yes, they are ideal for both. Knick knacks look cool in them as well.
WalMart has a "Better Homes & Garden" version of it for 1/3 the price. I have a 2x2 Expedit and it cost almost as much as the Expedit to ship it :(. I also opted for the caster wheel set, makes it really easy to move it around!
I built a crate a couple years ago that I keep my favourite records in, 13" square to accommodate box sets like the Beethoven symphonies. I keep a lot of other records in a cabinet I built about 15 years ago. Not tryna sound elitist, I'm just a cabinetmaker; it's what I do.
If you don't have an IKEA around you can always get something very similar from Target. Cube storage organizer it's called. They don't make them in as many colors though. Mostly black, white, wood grain, gray.
As of right now I don't have enough records to justify storing them in my Kallax, but I will say that the Kallax and the pull out drawers you can buy for it have done wonders for my comic book collection.
Just started getting into vinyl records and was looking at getting a Kallax to stick my records and turntable on top of. Coincidentally Ikea just released their Obegransad collection with a variant of the Kallax made specifically for turntables and records, so I getting one of those delivered. Supposedly "limited edition" which is a bit of a shame, but otherwise it seems like it'd be perfect.
I use a shelf unit that's from Target that's mainly used for those square bins for storage, but I noticed it's great for my albums. However my collection is growing rapidly, not too much so, so I'll need an upgrade. That and the top shelf it bowing a bit from the weight of my collection a bit. Thank goodness in the next two ish years I'll get an IKEA near me so I can check these out!
Josh G does your shelf have feet? The new ones from Target do not, and I have not had bowing issues as the shelf lies flat on the floor. IKEA is too far from me, and I think their shipping is astronomical.
I get the need to use plywood or pegboard backing to solidify the larger units for vinyl, and to secure to the wall, especially here in earthquake country. Someone out there has also suggested that using wood glue when inserting the pegs that connect the shelves will make them more robust for the heavy vinyl. I take it people generally find this is not necessary?
I only have around 40 records in my collection, how I have my collection is on my desk held up by two VERY heavy marble book ends and it's pretty rad for my little set up🙂
I've just got a plastic crate, It was pretty cheap but it fits my entire collection of albums for now. That said I figure another 5 albums and it'll become a tight enough squeeze that I'll have to think about buying a second.
I use Foremost Open Cube system boxes, each opening is 15x15x15 (slightly larger than the IKEA), and unlike the Kallax, it has a solid back so you don't accidentally push the records out the other side. Also (and this was a big selling point for me), you can buy a single cube if you're just starting your record collection and just add cubes as the collection grows.
Ooh I can't find the pink 😪. I need that one for my small records. I inherited them from my grandfather and they are all original to the 50s. I need to study the labels and figure out what all I have.
the ikea shelves are nice but my mrs would go nuts if these were in the living room. i use a brand called icube hold 100 in a cube with the benefit of having a half back so they look neat when full
I use Expedit, had it all set up before they changed it. The shelves are slightly modified though as the units are actually quite a bit deeper than 12" & I really didn't like the look of the records not being on the edge of the shelves.
I have an LP bin. it's not cheap it fits 500 LPs doesn't take up a ton of space but it can be pricey, $300 with all the bells and whistles. it's like the units they use in record stores
Got me all excited then I realized it’s almost 200$, redoing my room and I have almost 90 vinyls currently in two different crates, I’m worried they are going to be damaged.
I found it frustrating that the Kallax does not have a back, and my records would slide out the back of the Kallax , and they were not even across the front. That is until I found the following hack - Pool Noodles. Take a Pool Noodle and cut a piece slightly larger than the width of the Kallax cube, then slide the cut noodle to the back of the cube. Now when you put your records in the Kallax they will not slide out the back, and they will be even across the front.
Been using their stuff for years. It's cheap, so you can experiment with it a bit and not be too sad if you mess it up. I've got 3 Lack tables that I fabricobbled into a hifi rack (complete with castors from some other Ikea stuff). It'll do until I manage to make something a bit better with real wood.
I have a similar storage setup from Lowe's. I have to measure a record against to see if they'll fit. I don't have too many for now so I should be good with just this one but thanks for the video. I know what to look for in the future.
I just received a box 📦 from Amazon that holds up to 65 to 70 vinyl records 12”inch I’m liking it I’m thinking about getting another one down the road it’s a wooden box 📦 that you have to put together it’s pretty easy
I got the good old Kallax/expedit Ikea shelves for my vinyl to. It’s cheap, easy to put together, it looks fancy and having separate units is actually quite useful for keeping them somewhat organized to. I have different genres for different slots and everything I buy is 12", along the entire top 4 rows is Disco albums, next row is Disco singles apart from the fourth slot which is stuff that doesn’t really fit with the Disco/House theme, the next row down is House and the bottom shelf just has additional storage *cough* crap I couldn’t be bothered to put anywhere else *cough*
I'm just starting collecting vinyl records, so I only have a few and right now I store them upright in a Converse shoebox (that probably sounds like the most hipster thing possible)
..although the Cure 'Disintegration' LP looks like a re issue, still, you really should keep them in a polythene sleeve .. or even better, a sturdy PVC one...
2:04 can you stand the 2x4 vertical like that? I know some of those shelves have to go in a certain direction just wondering if these are the same way. I know it's a stupid question sense its being displayed like that in the video but you never know.
I made my own shelf unit since my collection is a little over 500. I've seen a lot of videos with similar shelving, and they do look very practical. Thanks for showing a variety of sizes. Who knows maybe some day I'll get a set.
I store mine in a small green storage crate... I'm close to needing more space now that I have a little over 50 records, maybe once I move out I'll get a kellax 🤔
I use a Kallax too. Fun fact: I live in the town in Sweden that the Kallax shelf is named after (Not the actual town is called Kallax, but a part of the town)
i store my vinyl still in the original milk crates i stole in the 80s from markets but will be getting some of these for sure
I found some on a local kajji ad. Keep your eyes peeled. Got them for like 5$ each.
@@mikeoxsbigg1 5$ each ok good luck

They also would be good for storing laserdiscs.
RandomPiGuy and 12" toys. I'm talking about action figures.
RandomPiGuy are theses shelves that strong. I usually end up building my own because of price and I feel real wood is more durable.
I have used similar shelves (not for storing records or laserdiscs) and they seem like they would be strong enough. Real wood would definitely be better.
yeah i also can store my macitosh se in the shelf fine
i have a large collection of porn on laserdisk thanks for the tip!
Another QUALITY video, Jared. I store my vinyl in tall flat stacks, propped up between my two space heaters, right next to my Crosley Messenger.
All jokes aside, after I watched this video I bought a 2x4. From Lowe's. And i hit muself over the head with it so I wouldn't remember watching this.
The benefit of being an carpenter: I can build it any way I want xD
I agree with you. Buying those shelving are stupid and a waste of money. I would never stack anything that high. I myself built my own and I call them room dividers. "Most importantly, they're cheap."
(Checks Google)
Riiiiiiight.....
Compared to an turntable
I got the walmart vs of those shelves for 70 bucks new. Its beautiful.
$649 ain’t cheap to me 😂
They are very cheap
Not in canada
Just as an fyi to you and everyone in the comments, you can get the same exact 2x4 shelves for $68 from walmart which is more than half the price of these ikea shelves. I know everyone has different opinions on walmart but just throwing that out there.

The 2x4 is actually the same price at IKEA. Im fact, IKEA’s 4x4 is $20 cheaper than Walmart’s. That’s why i bought the IKEA one over BH&G at Walmart

I may have to get these shelves not only for vinyl, but for my video game collection.

I have heard that the dividers of the Kallax are not designed to take heavy storage , or it will collapse , have you heard this ?
Thanks bro only got 9 records started last year but since Christmas my collection has grown from 4 to 9 and I’m going out tomorrow to get more 😂 iv been watching heaps of ur vids and I don’t have much more space and this helped a lot.
how has your collection been coming along?
One important detail to note is to secure the shelving unit securely to the wall so it doesn’t tip over under the weight of the records!
I just bought a 4x4 after watching this video. Thanks!
+hattorihanzo no problem! Glad I could help!
Just make sure you brace it to the wall
I use my Ikea desk for school and games and it fits with a shelf extension, if I remove the bottom self it makes a nice fit for my records, looks real nice next to my books too.
Cool, I use a vintage Scandinavian Designs shelf that was built for vinyl and turntables. Has a cool recessed area for the turntable and lots of ample space below for my vinyl!
I purchased the Threshold shelves that look just like these from Target. They are also very sturdy and can have "half shelves" added which I use to hold my cds as well.
I bought 2 2x4 units from Walmart for $61.00 each on sale. Works great. Love your vids too.
I like that Disintegration record 👍 love that album
Did t know these had a “Name”
They seem to be ideal & practical
Thanks for the insight
With Ikea about 4 miles from me I was very tempted to go with the Kallax. After rethinking about my modest 300+ and very slow growing collection, I went with the lpbin as I prefer flipping thru my stuff. Sure it was about twice the price but it just looks pretty cool.
Made something like this with an old shelf I found curbside. But now I need more storage! Kalaxx sound like a good way to go.
How many Lps fit in each square or ie how many would a 2x4 hold . ?? thanks
I definitely love these! I have a nice 2x2 and it is PERFECT!
Yes I use theses shelfs , they are awesome , I've bough 1by 6 and a 2 x 4 at a charity shop for £14 for the both , and I've have 3 x 2x2's which I bought from ikea , the best shelfs fir vinyl I know
Just got a 2 by four on it side and works perfect only have about 300 lps but still growing! Thanks for the great videos man!
Just got my first Kallax Thanks Jarrett easy to flip as well !!!!
My orange 2x2 Kallax is my vinyl collection's best friend
I'm storing my LPs on a cheap put together metal shelf...my 45s are in a plastic bin I got for a buck....I recently got some more 78s....time for more shelves....thanks for the info!
another great alternative that's about $70 cheaper is targets threshold 13" cube organizer. they look exactly like the kallax ones and they're super easy to put together
Hi Jarrett,
Please add a safety warning to have the Expedit or the newer Kallax mounted to the wall if it is a model that exceeds two levels up!
Yeah ikea sells thrash made very very cheaply, for high price.
...why would mounting to the wall do anything to save a structure from collapsing? Tipping over, now that I could see, but collapsing...?
You mean the shelves Kallaxed?!
I just bought a cheap little victrola stand for all of my records, it's just too one logs in a couple of metal rods but it keeps them nice and vertical.
How to make a Vinyl Eyezz video:
1: Talk with your hand for every second of the video.
2: Whenever you say, "In the description bellow," aggressively point down.
3: Sound like you are reading off of a script.
4: Make a smiling rape face in all of your thumbnails.
5: Over pronounce your intro.
GiveMeTheAtmosphere hilarious bro
you dont have to watch it if you dont like it, thats the amazing thing with personal preference and having the internet at your disposal, you can read/watch anything you like. so if you do not like it may i suggest watching something else
Also, you should have the microphone JUUUUST out of frame so that it's as close to your face as possible without the audience seeing it.
I agree with every point, but for some reason i still enjoy these videos. I would also add one more point:
6. Make videos on topics that are common sense in vinyl community and anyone can research with the most simple and basic google search.
Or Look Like a Mini Me "Paul Williams" AKA Give Me The Atmosphere
Thank you SO MUCH for making thia video! I have been looking for a 2x2 shelf to fit my records and now I know where I can get them! Cheers!
that's actually kind of cool.
Still got my 2x4 expedit I got a few years ago. Love these shelves.
IKEA will ship them to you.
This is actually really helpful, I was finally getting to a point that I need legit storage for all my records, so thank you for that!
Carnell Greer my one has no feet either, but it has two sets of the squares so I used to top shelf part and that is what's bowing.
Carnell Greer it's all good I am nearing 420 records so it's getting a bit massive haha.
I have these Kallax shelves as well. They are great! I have one 2x4 shelve. But I need more space soon, so gonna have to buy another one soon!
I use kallax, I have two 4x2 units... my Linn hifi components fit perfectly in them too!
When I bought my first IKEA KALLAX 2x4 shelf, I thought it is my brilliant idea to use it for 12" records. Now I see that it's pretty common))
For some reason I like to watch your vids while being drunk.
damn, ive been storing all my records in the oven this whole time. I would never know that i could just put them in a shelf!? thanks Jarrett!
I got a Better Homes and Gardens brand 8 hole shelf at Walmart for $69. Great price and fit my records well. Come in a variety of colors.
I Love My shelves. Nice Video as Usual Jarrett.
thanks for the heads up on these units, just collected mine this morning after watching the video, now subscribed 👍
You hardly got any vinyl records. 90 vinyls is like one cube of Kallax space. 😂
Walmart also has a good version of the old expedit model. I have both the Ikea and Walmart versions and they both hold up.
Great looking shelves! Wish I had about. 10 Units
Thanks ! Wallace
I saw you had be kind rewind I'm your DVD collection. great movie👍👍👍
Sade just reminds me of good old floral shoppe
Great video, and very helpful! Thank You!
I'm just starting collecting vinyl records, so I only have a few and right now I store them upright in a Converse shoebox (that probably sounds like the most hipster thing possible)
I store my records in a 2x2 shelving unit by the Threshold brand from Target. It looks almost identical to the Kallax. I love it!
Wish I had known about the Ikea shelves. But I've been using the Foremost 327606 modular (1x2) units from Amazon. But they run about $25-30 a pop.
..although the Cure 'Disintegration' LP looks like a re issue, still, you really should keep them in a polythene sleeve .. or even better, a sturdy PVC one...
I use the hol or whatever its called,I don't have a lot of records so it fits well
2:04 can you stand the 2x4 vertical like that?
I personally store most of my records on my wall. A certain type of command strip works perfectly on 12'.
