It's nice to see you together again. I have missed The Other Favorites.

Came here to comment exactly this
@@imaginado4534 Me too!
me too! you guys are good together!
Darn, I wanted to be the first to say it
It feels soooo good to see Josh and Carson together again. There is a chemistry between them that just feels good on my soul.
Their voices meld so well. Both are very skilled, on the the guitars as well
I fully agree
You are not alone.
Yep, and Carson has toned down the facial contortions. Makes it easier to concentrate on his wonderfully sonorous voice. Fabulous.
A whole western movie in one song. Epic Marty Robbin’s tune.
Marty would be proud!!
So true, and well-said.
@@davebrown8853 i’ve listened to this song my whole life, and I never get tired of picturing the scenes in my head, like a movie.
I was thinking basically the same thing.
WE GETTIN OUTA GOODSPRINGS WITH THIS ONE! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
+
Playing through new vegas right now! I think we need a jingle jangle cover next with the bygones 😂
XDDDD
I'd give all the caps in New Vegas for a soundtrack reinterpretation
Carson has the golden voice!
Yes yes indeed and together with Josh it's a can't miss !
@@maxcruz666 Not close to what I remembered but dang its good to hear this done by someone. Calls for some baritone. Or not.
Simply outstanding!
you guys were born to do this together. it`s nice of you to share this one. hope all is well
MARTY ROBBINS WOULD HAVE BEEN PROUD OF YOU YOUNG MEN ..DOING JUSTICE TO HIS SONG !
Hell yea, Carson and Josh reunite, it's like having John And Paul together!
john and paul were original thinkers not imitaters.some people read books, some people write books...big difference.
@@jimmarrer Just because they don't have the success of The Beatles, or the amount of songs they've written, doesn't mean Josh & Carson cannot function and perform with the same alchimy and musical collusion that John & Paul had together, back then.
You should be proud, if you worship The Beatles, that much, that those two young blokes have been heavily influenced by them, have tributed their songs and legacy, and launched them on the path of being musician and compose their own songs themselves, which are by the way pretty good. Your comment seems very condescending I'm afraid.
I'll never forget the day I was sitting in my college dorm studying and listening to some country station on a little clock radio when they announced Marty had died. That was over 40 years ago. So glad his legacy lives on and his work is being honored and interpreted by this younger generation.
Josh and Carson brought a big iron and killed this song!!
It's always magic when you two get back together. I love how much your friendship shines through the music as much as your talents do.
we don`t know when this was recorded.
Josh and Carson...Grady Martin and Marty Robbins would be proud.
Robin Grady went uncredited but was the third man on the song.
Always a joy to play, man, especially when the iron is THIS big 🤝
More please! 🥰
Big Iron energy.
El Paso, please. It’s more bigger!
Good to hear Carson’s voice again 🙂
Classic Josh and Carson. We love you guys :)
Nice to see Carson back
The depth and tone of Carson's voice is beautiful.
I concur. This is in his wheel house.
Always a nice afternoon when the other favourites reunite for the odd video!
These two voices together, it’s magic.
Couldn’t click on this fast enough. Phenomenal work as usual, gentlemen.
Quality. A rare commodity these days. You guys always deliver in spades.
Carson's rich bass voice. Josh's harmonies and finger work. Jeebus. AMAZING! Thank you!
These two young men are extremely talented and I thoroughly enjoy listening to them!
I wonder if the two of you truly know how awesome it is to see and hear you fellas playing together again... I have really missed to frequent videos of The Other Favorites. I know you both have your schedules but dang, this is so good!
This is what I’m talking about! You two together are 100% my jam.
God, Why aren't these guys on their own tv show. As a duet they simply excel 😃
Never clicked on a vid faster
me 2
Carson Marty would be proud. Killer.
Fabulous! The good thing is: there is a plethora of fun songs like this that can keep you two busy for years! Us 60+ year olds would appreciate it.
Josh’s guitar artistry never fails to amaze and entertain.
i wish more ppl appreciated Marty Robbins
Many do, a lot more than you think lol
@@tangyorange6509 Right! I grew up in the 70's on good ol' Rock'n'Roll but my parents had the Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs album. It's a classic and got heavy airplay at home... great memories!
Wow! You create magic with two guitars and two voices!
You guys have magic together.... don't ever give that up!! .... great job!!
Looks like the boys are back in town! More please.
The virtuosity from Josh, the utter precision, the startling invention, the absolute certainty, is breath-taking. The whole pressed into service by such perfect judgement of tempo. The song is driven, driven, driven forward without ever losing a sense of its musicality. Or its meaning. Carson meanwhile sings with flawless judgement. What a supreme delight.
Remember when these two were in Jr. High… incredible then… incredible now…
LYRICS:
To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day
Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say
No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip
For the stranger there among them had a big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
It was early in the morning when he rode into the town
He came riding from the south side slowly lookin' all around
He's an outlaw loose and running, came the whisper from each lip
And he's here to do some business with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
In this town there lived an outlaw by the name of Texas Red
Many men had tried to take him and that many men were dead
He was vicious and a killer though a youth of 24
And the notches on his pistol numbered one and 19 more
One and 19 more
Now the stranger started talking, made it plain to folks around
Was an Arizona ranger, wouldn't be too long in town
He came here to take an outlaw back alive or maybe dead
And he said it didn't matter he was after Texas Red
After Texas Red
Wasn't long before the story was relayed to Texas Red
But the outlaw didn't worry men that tried before were dead
20 men had tried to take him, 20 men had made a slip
21 would be the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
The morning passed so quickly, it was time for them to meet
It was 20 past 11 when they walked out in the street
Folks were watching from the windows, everybody held their breath
They knew this handsome ranger was about to meet his death
About to meet his death
There was 40 feet between them when they stopped to make their play
And the swiftness of the ranger is still talked about today
Texas Red had not cleared leather 'fore a bullet fairly ripped
And the ranger's aim was deadly with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
It was over in a moment and the folks had gathered round
There before them lay the body of the outlaw on the ground
Oh, he might have went on living but he made one fatal slip
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
Big iron, big iron
When he tried to match the ranger with the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip
Makes sense that the Other Favorites had to give way while Josh is recording/touring with the Bygones, but hopefully not forever. Good to see you guys together again.
I'd love an album of you guys doing nothing but these classics. Just two voices and two guitars.
Classic duo making history right there , love it
The other favourites are back again. Hooray!!!!
Big iron energy in this unforgettable duo !!
Wow! I’m not a huge country music fan, but I really enjoyed this.
It's a pleasure to see this guys together again!!!! We need more OTHER FAVOURITES!!!!!
Just what I needed. I’ll bet there’s more songs about outlaws than there were outlaws. 👏👏👏👏
Its about gosh darned time!
The lads are back
So good to see, and hear, Carson again.
You guys are great together.
The classic duo
Nice to see the boys back together!
Marty would be proud❤
Nice to see you guys back together again. This sounds amazing
Yay! The Other Favorites are killing it again :)
Unreal chemistry. Carson your singing is just incredible. Love ya both
Glad to see you guys together again! It was great getting to talk to you in Nashville, Josh!
Just bought tickets for the Bygones in Amsterdam (October). A surprise appearance from Carson would be very much appreciated😉
I was thinking the same about the Denver gig.
OUTSTANDING!!! My 17 yr old g’son loves this song… just PHENOMENAL!!!
Big spruce soundboxes on their hip !! Excellent performance and storytelling!!
Fridays are made when a Josh video pops up…thank you.
My mother in laws favorite singer. God rest her soul!
Truly some big iron energy
Josh's stratospheric guitar and Carson's fantastic voice are an absolute guarantee! Exceptional as only they can be!
Marty would be proud. Great job
Although Carson or Josh collaborations with others are great, there's few that compare to Carson and Josh together. Growing and nurturing their skills and talents together since their teens creates a synergy in their music which is so appealing, unique and joyful. There's nothing that compares to The Other Favorites.
Missed this duo
Josh and Carson, I’ve been listening to you both for years and the two of you are my favorite duo of all time. You remind me of me and my buddy when we played acoustic shows in college. I’m always very excited to see your new releases. Your interpretations of songs, old and new, are always exceptional and often better than the originals.
Happy to see y'all together again!
it's good to see a younger generation doing some of the great old story songs!
I'll definitely be coming back to this one
Liked this before the video even started playing. 💓💓💓
RIGHT?!?
Justice has been done to that tune, outstanding!!!
One of my favorite Fallout New Vegas songs! Great version!
YES boys!!!
I've missed you guys playing together. love to see it. Hoping there's a new album around the corner when your schedules clear a bit!
Wow, just wow! Marty Robbins would be flattered.
My Dad would sing this song time and time again. Thanks for reviving the memory!
Real instruments, real voices. What a treat! Thank you :)
My boys doing stuff!!! ❤
I love The Other Favorites!
Ghost Riders on Carson's channel is another great collaboration between these two. Fabulous work you two!
I was a teenager when this was released. I bought the album and would close the door to my tiny bedroom and play it at night when falling asleep. I still have that prized vinyl. Nice job guys.
Big Iron energy indeed.
It is good to see both of you together again. It has been a while.
Carson and Josh is the best!
Fantastic guys!! So glad to see y’all back together. Carson, your voice just gets better and better. You sounded amazing.
Thanks guys ❤
One of my favorites:
Marty Robbins and Grady Martin would be proud!!
That was great! So good to hear you two singing and playing together again.
Omg brilliant combo of carsons voice and joshs guitar
Guitar slinging at its best! Just what I needed this morning. Your all’s attention to detail is worth mentioning. Dynamics and musicality.
Thanks guys!❤ This song is an old favorite and you played it very well 👏
Big Iron energy for sure.
Well done, lads!
That was great! El Paso should be next😊
Came by to say that I requested this two years ago in the comments section of Riders in the Sky! What a treat! Thank you!

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
Awesome!! - and Grady Martin would have been proud, Josh Turner!!
Oh man, my favourite country song, covered by my favourite other favorites. A treat.
You guys just keep getting better and better. Bravo.
Love the older songs
I’ve always loved this song, I love The Other Favorites rendition!
Marty Robbins "Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs" 1959. Way beyond classic album. You guys just honored Marty with this wonderful performance. Thank you so much!😊👍
